  8. Finish 9th Star Man Cabaye Best Signing Cabaye One to watch Dan Gosling Young Gun Shane / Haris Point to Prove Best Manager Think he will really excel next year and get a chance to finally "relax" into the job. His refreshingly honest, if sometimes daft, interviews will win most over.
  9. They also do a team by team prediction and ours is as follows..... http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,12040_7087709,00.html
  10. Could be a call to arms for a Lee Ryder stokoe shop thread all of his very own.
  11. One of the big Sunflowers has just keeled over This ones still going strong and must be about 8ft or 9ft high
  12. @SkyNewsBreak Sky News Newsdesk Police officer injured & patrol car destroyed by fire after a police station was attacked by youths in Washington, Northumbria.
  13. This country has gone to the dogs through years of lefties trying to "understand" wrongdoers. The bloke pretending to help the kid with the broken jaw while nicking out of his backpack needs putting down, pure and simple. Scum, nothing more.
  14. Good post. Though the one thing that doesnt sink with me. I was brought up in benwell from '72 until '79 when I moved to West Denton. It's fair to say I lived in a rough area. I done fuck all at school bar daydream. I fit your example perfectly. Encouraged by my Father to go out and work and that training schemes were slave labour. I got one O level (Actually a GCSE, the first year they were done) and that was in Art. I wanted to resit Maths as I just missed out. Went back to 6th form but left in Jan to get a job and earn money. Didnt go to uni. Dont have a criminal record. Stolen from a shop once as a teen and got caught. Thank fuck I did tbh. Otherwise Im your typical bloke who stays on the right side of the law (bar speeding, but thats another discussion). I now run my own business through nowt but hard graft. I never felt like society owed me anything. Never felt hard done by even when I had my first flat and no carpets, no bed. I slept on a sofa that I was given and washed my clothes in the bath. This was when I was about 19 and in Newbiggin Hall. First job I earned £6500 a year. Never once did I think "fuck this, I deserve better so I'll steal it". Hard graft, head down. Everything I have I've earned. Was on the dole once for 2 weeks and hated it. So, all this talk of "theres no opportunities" and "I dont get paid to go to Uni" or whatever. I'm sure you can see why I think "Fuck You". Also maybe you can see why I do tend to label many on the dole as scroungers. Of course, there are those who try and fail. But there are many who dont. To give a balanced argument though. Criminality is at all levels of society. It not just the poor. The whole things stinks of hypocrisy. The MP scoffs at the 16yr old petty thief while he files his dodgy expenses. Is it so different? But, while that is wrong, it doesnt make the former any more acceptable. You cant look at one and say its ok as the other does it. I blame the parents I actually do btw I think it shows the cataclysmic change in society and attitudes over the past 20/30 years. Your story isn't really an uncommon one for the time. EDIT: I've no idea what's posted below but thank fuck I've got CT on ignore. I've posted on most of the last few pages but the only time you need to go back and re-dit a post is when I disagree with you You know fine well you read it man....grow up.

You cant look at one and say its ok as the other does it. I blame the parents I actually do btw This basically. Plus 1 The first post is terrible and is why we will get nowhere with this issue. Phil summed it up pretty well. A "you shot one of ours" protest march went criminal and 24/7 news showed similar feral rats how easy it is to nip down the high street, out number the police and nick some stuff. These scum are the minority not the norm. Some are 31 year old teachers and other are 11 year old snots so lets not dress this up as some anti government rally ffs. Getting vexed, time to turn off laptop.
  16. This cross section of society thread bodes well for the MP's finding a solution tomorrow.
  17. Is it not the blacks with a cunning disguise.
  18. What really boils my piss is rather than strong politicians getting together to discuss the "plan" for the next few weeks to restore order, its going to turn into "but you are reducing police numbers"....."your reducing by 10,000.....we were only going to reduce by 7,000". Unless drastic action is taken now, this could just re-start each time the police move away. Remember this is criminal riots not protests that got out of hand. I would be interested to hear what action some of you would take to ensure this will not happen every weekend, rather than just discussing the "bigger" picture of cause and long term solution.
  19. Gemmil and Joey.....separated at birth
  20. Yet most are being told the magistrate courts dont have the power to sentence. They should set up a special court and make some examples and broadcast that 24/7 on sky news for the copy catters. I fear a bit for Newcastle city centre on Saturday. Hopefully there will be enough grown ups around to clip a few ears if people get silly. Won't happen here for reasons I've discussed. Shola's family aren't going to start owt on their own. Won't happen in Scotland neither. Unfortunately Stevie it will be the same lambrini drinking scum you saw first hand abusing bystanders and vandalising cars at Darlington.
  21. Please god let him come through tonights game unscathed. Pray for him.

  23. There will always be an excuse Alex, no matter what the economy is like or which government is in power. With regard to imigrants, how many times have we heard the line that they do the work the english wont. The english wont because they can get by on benefits. Available work and excellent benefits are the reason imigrants come here. Less benefits for the people already here and making the avaialable work the option will reduce claimants and imigrants, both which will benefit an already overcowded island particularly with a bleak economic outlook for decades to come. That "nice" TORY, whose name escapes me, that has been looking at the benefit system for years and is trying to change it is spot on. (not a racial point btw). I'm not sure what you think I'm making an excuse for. I was pointing out that a economic climate with less jobs around means that more unemployed is inevitable. Ignoring party politics it's not really the time to decrease the amount of people on benefits, in fact it's absolutely inevitable that the amount of people on them will increase. To get back to party politics the government's policies clearly aren't working in the way they are because the economy hasn't responded to their policies in the way they said it would. Hate to say I told you so... I was basically saying that there will also be an excuse not to get going with necessary reforms, particularly benefits. It should have been addressed by Labour in 97 when the world went through a boom period but better late than never. And we will always need a main benefit safety net but its way past a safety net. Re the economy, I think its fairly evident the world is pretty fucked and there will be no quick fixes. I cant really see it getting any better in my lifetime. I think there is a massive worldwide correction going on and things will never return to the way they were unless something unknown at present comes along. It will be difficult for those who have lived through prosperous times, but as always in life, future generations will just adjust to that enviroment. I compare it to NUFC under SJH. The likes of me and you know we will probably never have it that good again and it will always taint our enjoyment of NUFC to some degree. Kids who are just getting into football now dont have that baggage. I also believe borrowing more money to try and prop up the "good times" in the hope they will come back is not the answer. It wasnt for Fred and it isnt for Dave.
