  1. I haven't seen much evidence of that. I thought you didn't live round here? Listening to the likes of Mick Lowes etc it's very clear there is a lot more comma going on. With the Keane thing he literally said I know the manager is not interested at all. Over the last 18 months, they've all sounded as clueless as most on here and haven't hid the fact. The journos are loving getting stories and gossip again, make no mistake.
  2. One good thing about Pardew is that he can / is able to communicate with the press / fans. He can talk openly about what he wants to do / or doesn't want to do. Hughton obviously didn't have their backing and therefore could never opionate ? himself which is why he ended up as a yes man. Pardews already clearly knocked the Keane story straight on the head with the local journos.
  3. Imagine if Pardew wins the cup in his first year here! Go on admit it, youd be gutted. don't be daft. There are daft cunts on NO who used to say stupid things like that, I hope they aren't your role models ? Question for you CT. Did YOU pay 3 seasons ticket money up front hoping to see failure ? Did you pay 3 seasons up front at all........ Luckily I was paying by installments which allowed me an escape route. But that said in hindsight I've missed a great deal of good winning football in the championship and some of the football / games this season was extremely enjoyable.

  5. Don't want to see us going for these "has Beens", unless it's loan deals only.
  6. I thought it was the press who pulled pardew about it after the game and not the other way round Did they not catch him off guard.
  7. Just had to go to Mackems training ground and pick up some player called Muhammady? Dropped him off at a what I presume was crappy loan digs. Didn't have a lot to say, so guessing he knew who I was. Had a very nice tortoise shell man clutch bag that I'm sure would have suited Happys needs as well as having the benefit of being mobile.
  8. It will be some contactual short coming which means it's better to tie it up now. If it was rock solid like you suggest then I have no doubt they would have waited.
  9. I'll give you some scenarios just to keep you happy. 1. This is the sweetener before the lemon thats to come in January re Enrique, Carroll etc 2. Its just talk to shut us up. 3. Its an attempt to stimulate the sale of half yearly STs. As Ant says, we're making a deal that didnt need to be made until the Summer, we have an agreement and there shouldnt be a need to change that especially as we've not seen the player since his horrendous injury. Maybe hes not going to be the player he was, maybe hes lost a yard of pace. Who knows? sense would say that you wait and check him out again after the injury. Unless of course Marseille are pushing it but again, regardless of the fact he got the injury while playing with us thats the gamble of loans. We're under no obligation to buy a player just because of that. If hes half the player he looked before the injury then I'll still be happy with the purchase but I cant see any sense in it taking place now and not at the agreed time. What if the option to buy, price etc was subject to a certain number of games being played and that's not now going to happen? Rather have it tied up now.
  10. This boards not big enough for the both of us! Be gone by Noon!
  11. 65 year old arrested for it this morning. Haven't seen the Landlord. Did he look that age?
  12. What Excellent news on Ben Arfa. 5 million as well and the window hasn't even opened yet. Can't wait for the doom mongers to get spinning on this news. All year they've said we should but wouldn't and now that we have there will be all sorts of conspiracy theories flying around. That or just silence
  13. Ant doing what IT guys normally do at parties which is knocking back two pints , going wild on the dance floor to dancing queen, then vomiting everywhere.
  14. I've never met PP, I've seen him, but never spoke to him, so I don't know if he is a generally negative or positive outlook sort of person. Same as Fish. I'm only going by what they are saying. I think the current setup of the club is as obvious as it can be, and I would love to be positive. A few years ago, I was only one of a small number of people who actually was, remember ? [Don't derail the thread I'm just making the point that I think the club is fucked under the current owner]. The one positive comment I can make is Happy New Year Still a much better club than at the end os Shpeherds time and for that matter a lot better than it was for most of the 70's and 80's
  15. We'll thrash, yes god damn it, thrash Wigan and West Ham, have a very good January window, give the Mackems a very good rodgering and then all the negs can hybernate til May when they start again with the scaremongering baseless rhetoric.
  16. Purely luck though, nothing was to be gained from keeping a player on the pitch who is clearly not in the right frame of mind. At worst he gets sent off, at best he's so careful that he's ineffective. To be honest I think there's a bit of over-reaction to an average performance against what is a very good Spurs side. Everybody was saying we'd lose, before kick off, and now that we have it seems people are appalled that we did. Other than picking Perch, I'm not sure what I would have tried differently in Pardew's shoes? Most of us would have been cautious against such a quick skill full opponent. We probably would have plumped for 4-5-1 or at least had a 4-4-1-1 with Whomever operating behind Carroll sufficiently to be able to help out with the midfield duties. I honestly think we'd still have lost if Jose and Nolan were starting. So I'm not sure where this level of shock is coming from? I also don't think losing away to Spurs is the final nail in our coffin, there's still half the season to play and there's still plenty of "Arsenal Away" and "Blackpool at Home"-s to come. We'll end up 11th-14th and I'm willing to put £20 on that. Spot on. Overall the game plan was working and only fucked up because they had Lennon and Bale and we had Jonas and Routledge. Both goals were good goals. On the day I just tink we mis fired all over the park. While we seemed to have quite bit of posession in the middle, we couldnt do anything with it from there. Hopefully we'll find a new right and left winger in January. Onwards and upwards.
  17. Need a bit more positivity on here lads, it's like Elf when Santa needed Christmas cheer to get the sleigh working. Bit more belief and we'll do it. Just need a scraggy little goal for 3 points. Ranger will come on and score.
  18. Perch like a rock, smith tackle of the match, twice
  19. Well it's either Smith in a 4-4-2 or (more likely) in a 4-5-1. Don't see any positives either way tbh. I dont know. If its 5 in the middle and we can win the midfield battle then theoretically, we have Barton able to spray the ball to Jonas or Routledge to get quick balls in for Carrol. Obviously Jonas is the theory fucker.
