Still open to suggestions btw. Heres a picture of the trout inn, oxford to give an idea of the sort of thing im after. Even settle for a lovely beer garden with a babbling brook or lake. Looked at a few pictures of the boathouse wylam but it doesnt seem to be by the river, as such. Thinking of heading off to Northumberland today either Rothbury or Hexham way so any suggestions up that way would be mucho appreciated. I'll have another look at that George place to see if that fits the bill as well.

Would have definitely made them more palatable but still the heads.......Ughhhh

Aye , we've just discussed it again this morning and we would only go back if we were going to eat the "you cant fuck this up food" such as potato skins, lasagne etc. Sitting on that balcony watching the sun go down and sipping alcohol, virtually made up for the dodgy starter.

I dont know the gun laws. I only know that nobody should have a gun who does need it as part of their job (If there is such a person outside the military). A taxi driver certainly doesnt need a shotgun.

Anyway as I said earlier, we ended up at a Pub called the Riverbar in Fatfield , Washington and then headed upstairs to a Restaurant called Fumes for a bite. As with anywhere the sunshine made the night and this particular restaurant has an outside eating balcony that soaks up the sun and overlooks the river. Not going to say the food was brilliant but just average for what you get in an okay itallian these days. The fillet steak was cooked to perfection, however the starter was a different kettle of fish all together!!!! Advertised as Cajun style Whitebait I expected a similar dish as I once ate on Cocoa beach, florida. On that occasion it was beautiful chuncks of white fish cooked in Cajun spices to perfection. This time I got a plate of...... I had a go at chopping the tales and heads off a few but OMG not for me. Overall a lovely setting on a sunny night but dont order the little fishies (unless you like them)

Just watched..... When Boris met Dave All about there days at Eton and then later at Oxford. Quite interesting if you havent yet seen this. Boris was the guy with no real money on a scholarship who totally acted the toff, where as Cameron was the Toff who was into Phil Collins, playing the drums and befriending the local Rastafarian. Interesting stuff and I for one , didnt appreciate the long term rivalry between Dave and Boris.

When your balls drop and hairs start sprouting it will all become clear.

You might as well say the problem is most people are thick as shit. No I disagree. I take your point with regard to racism and that sort of thing, but a lot of very normal people do not come into contact with gay people and therefore are only aware of the gays who are in the spotlight. The majority of these spotlight gays are the mincers.
-
The problem is that most people with none gay friends, see gays represented by the likes of Norton, Dale whatisname and the mincer of corrie, so it becomes a very true stereo type for a lot of people. I remember working in a sop when the metro centre first opened and out of a staff of 10, there was this one gay lad. While he wasnt openly abused, there was a distinct fear at the time of catching aids from him which caused various problems. Nobody wanted to use his mug (which had had a poison logo drawn on) and nobody wanted to follow him into the netty)

Have had a good read up on these today and apparently it is quite common for them to be in modern houses, trees and even hedgerows. They dont travel far to feast so I guess they must live pretty close by. As someone said above I guess its only when the summer is here and we are out in the garden late at night that we notice them. Amazing little guys tho.

Sounds like a pure meltdown job. Apparently their was a family dispute between him and his brother over a will and the first two shot were his brother and the solicitor. Once the ball was rolling it looks as though he's decided to settle a few scores on the way out as well as some randoms. I would guess he was pissed.

Having spent the last few nights sitting enjoying a few sherrys late into the evening, I have now noticed a four or five bats that spend all evening flying between our garden and two gardens away. We live on a fairly modern estate with no old bell towers or barns close by so Im a bit confused at where they are coming from. The fact that they spend all night over these three gardens makes me think they must reside very close. Anyone know anything about Bats? They are class to watch mind.

Just watched Dave do his first PMQ's and must say it was a damn good performance. We're talking about genuine answers to questions here not referring to ready made answers as became so commonplace under Labour. Its clear as day that we now have the change and fresh start that was needed.

Marvellous compared to some taxi drivers by all accounts!!!!

All we need now is David Cameron joining in with the Gay man he met this week..........

Do you own a motorhome CT? There's a place where you can rent them to tour Scotland but unfortunately I'll never persuade Mrs R to slum it in anything less than a 4 star hotel. Must admit, I wouldn't fancy driving it either. But the freedom would be ace. Have you got a link Rents? Sounds like something that would be right up my street. Haven't got any specific recommendations but just google motorhomes Scotland. There was an article about it in Trail magazine a few months ago but I've chucked it since. Let me know if you give it a try. Loads to hire on Ebay http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_trkparms=65...sop=7&_sc=1

Hungover A good Bank Holiday in the Taxi followed by yesterday off and 5 Kronenburgs in the local beer garden. Then moved to the back garden where a lovely bottle of Faustino Rioja finished me off.
