  1. And Labour could easily prevent a no deal if they stop playing politics.
  2. My point put into perspective perfectly on the Marr show this morning. Dramatic news earlier in the week that we’ve only got 12 years to act and only one of the Sunday papers covered the news. The observer ran two columns on page 6.
  3. I think in fairness to him, he has been fairly consistent from day one that the negogiations were set up in the wrong order and that the backstop was a mistake. He was also (if you remember), pretty vocal within days of the December agreement, about how meaningless the backstop was. He has simply been played by May who seems to have run out of road.
  4. You call me a selfish twat for basically saying that like most people, I don’t do as much as I could and then say you basically do nothing either. That makes us both selfish twats, but you a hypocrite. Faux rage.
  5. There’s nothing wrong with genuine concern and good on you for trying to do your bit. The faux rage bit kicks in when the middle class spout their anger at others on social media while not actually going the extra mile themselves. You know, either practice what you preach or don’t preach.
  6. I’m honest, you’re false. Im sure we both want to live in a world without global warming but just not enough to give up the majority of daily comforts. The Internet is full of folk just like yourself.
  7. Spot on. The rise of the middle class faux rage on all sorts of topics is fucking laughable. Obviously it’s magnified a million times on the Internet where faceless souls can profess their mothe Theresa credentials while doing sweet FA in the real world about it. Jump on a jet, order their Uber etc etc etc
  8. No matter what happens, you are not going to get the majority of the Tories voting for a GE Yiu need about 100 Tory MP’s to vote for an election.
  9. Crap response. How much of a change have you personally made?
  10. So what difference is it going to make in Tyne & Wear in 40 years?
  11. Im sure there are some that won’t or that it is not cost effective, EG a lot of the tech parts arrive from Asia, but many others have been encouraged (in the same way Thatcher encouraged Nissan), to set up here. This is why the multi million pound park is under construction and why many more jobs will be created post Brexit. It has to be crystal clear to most most people that a deal will be done and tarrif free trade will continue. Any JIT problems will be quickly ironed out.
  12. I’ll take no lectures from Toontastics chief crocodile tear supplier.
  13. I’d rather we were not facing it, I’m just saying that most people don’t register it serious enough to do much about it. I suppose this breaks down into two main points. 1. Is it really going to make a big difference to your average punter or their grandchildren? If so, what? 2. What difference can your average punter make when the meat industry is one of the biggest causes, and despite your valiant efforts, that’s not realistically going to change. And the vast majority of the developing world want their turn at coal powered energy and fast food. Its similar to supporting NUFC, we all know what we’d like but accept we have little control in events.
  14. They do, otherwise it’s impossible! A PM can’t grant a GE
  15. True. Like the overwhelming majority I carry on with life as normal bar the odd bit of forced domestic recycling. Most who argue differently are crying crocodile tears.
  16. Not true. Many suppliers have already set up around Nissan and happily supply U.K. market.
  17. 9/10 people don’t really give a fuck about global warming.
  18. Also sounds as though the Irish Back Stop is virtually sorted. And the Germans finally starting to wobble.... ” German economists have warned that no deal could cause German exports to the UK to plummet by as much as 57%. The highly respected IW Economic Institute based in Cologne called for policymakers to take “constructive action” to avoid what they called the “horror scenario” of no deal. The boss of the BDI – Germany’s equivalent of the CBI – has also warned that a “disorderly Brexit” would be a “massive crisis” for the EU, demanding that political leaders achieve a “breakthrough in the talks” at the next EU summit.
  19. Make a change from the horse meat lasagna from the EU
  20. I’m not sure what you find so strange? Nissan already have numerous supplier factories who have factories supplying parts located within a 10 mile radius. iirc the boss of Aston Martin also said similar about gearboxes that are currently sourced from Italy may instead be supplied by a U.K. supplier. All meaningless hypothesis anyway considering the deal that’s going to get done will allow trade to continue as normal.
