It is and no I can't. While I'm not as positive as I was last time around, I'm really looking forward to watching the game live on telly, getting to know the new faces and seeing how they actually perform in a competitive game. And seeing what Rafas preferred 11 is (subject to injuries).

Could always go back to the football rattle! That going off in your lug would really make you miserable. All seaters have definitely made it more sedate so I have no problem with a few flags, mainly for the bairns I would hope. I'm sure I went through a phase in the 70's where it was cool to have your scarf tied round your wrist

Popped in today after excellent Dinossur pitch n putt at heighly gate garden centre. Rip off but live action dinosaurs as you go round so young'un so love it. Anyway, been dying to go to Riley's for a while and loved it apart from the food. Sun beating down, great setting, nice seat watching the bairn play in the sand below. Nobody was particularly hungry but I wanted to try something so ordered the mackerel wrap and persuaded our lass to try the fish cakes. Didn't like the mackerel and the fish cakes were just dry as hell. Was hoping for a bit of variety in the fish and a bit more flavoursome as you get in the equivalent surf bars in the states. Serve warm cider as well.

And here we are, 24 hours before our first game and no one seems sure what our starting 11 will be. Just seems odd to me. Do you have a clue what it will be?

Still no guesses at a starting 11? Will Sisokko and Tiote start?

Can't say I am yet. Suppose when I know what our first 11 is and see them in action on Friday I'll hopefully climb aboard team positive.

Not Newcastle but the Fat Buddah at Seaburn on the beach. Never been to a FB before but extremely impressed having this on our doorstep. Food was really nice and tiger on tap is always good.

I'm busy having a Bourne fest at the minute re-watching them all in prep for this.

So what is the likely starting 11? Does anyone know?

I'm not confident at all this season. Maybe it's because I've paid little attentions to the new signing, maybe it's because I have little faith in our forwards, maybe it's because we looked amateurish on Saturday, maybe it's because I'm a big girls blouse. I'm not even sure what our first choice 11 is meant to be. Hoping it's just a fleeting negative nancy moment and we look great for this game.

What can I say, I've been to two. Darlington which was an absolute party fest and Saturdays which was like attending a wake.
