  1. Just my own take but the WUMs don't bother me at all. I think they generally make fools of themselves and their drooling can be quite funny. It genuinely amuses me, for example, that someone can take the trouble of registering as 'Sending Shearer down' or whatever. Imagine how thick you have to be to believe that the success or failure of the football team you support reflects either well or badly on yourself
  2. It's almost worth getting relegated to see all these window-lickers falling over themselves to have a bit gloat 'Sending Shearer down'. How fucking sad is that man?
  3. Swapping Jimmy Nail for Marvin Gaye's a bit like swapping Joe Kinnear for Kevin Keegan.
  4. Even losing a few big earners we're still going to have Premier League running costs on championship revenues. Shite like Nolan will still be on far more than their championship equivalents. We'll have the parachute payment and better crowds than the rest and I don't know the exact numbers but I guess someone is going to have to sink money into the club to keep us going. Even if we can put together a competitive squad on a zero net spend (debatable) there's no guarantee we'll come straight back up and the longer you stay there the harder it is to get out. I hear this 'clearout/start afresh' stuff and I know it's just people trying to find positives, but I can't see relegation as anything but a total fucking disaster.
  5. If we're doing self-indulgent songs and Keegan here's mine:
  6. He's canny funny on there at times the preening smoggie twat. Fucking hates Poll as well and isn't shy of saying so
  7. Just read on dotcom we've never won our final away game in the PL
  8. I thought Styles admitted after the match that he'd got it wrong? This is what I was thinking of: Beye decision pushes Styles to the edge Still confused, as on the one hand it implies Styles was upset it was overturned but on the other Kinnear's quote suggests he changed his mind. Edit: looked at some other articles and they all seem fairly clear that the F.A. rescinded the card independently.
  9. No wonder I couldn't find it then
  10. Don't think so, as I seem to recall Styles being well upset when Beye's got rescinded. Might have this wrong like.
  11. I heard it was being shown but there's no confirmation on Setanta as yet as far as I can see. They're bound to show it like I'd have thought. The world and his wife seem to want to see us down - it's going to be a bit like a public hanging.
  12. I hope a goodly sprinkling of gloating mackems do so in the wrong places and get massively twatted.
  13. Worth a go I suppose. Makes hardly any difference if they chuck it out and anyway I don't see how it could be deemed a 'frivolous' appeal since that was never a clear goalscoring opportunity (which is the rule as I understand it).
  14. Massive blow losing Beye and Bassong for this. Two big centre forwards and Ashley Young if he's in the mood = major problems for our weakened back four.
  15. If he's backed, Shearer's the right appointment. There's a lot to be said for giving it to a young manager in our situation and he stands out as worth taking a chance on. But it remains a gamble. No-one, including him, knows if he's going to be any good at it or not. He's not bought or sold a footballer yet. Will he buy the right players? Can he send teams out to win games regularly? I fucking hope so or we're in even more trouble. They'll have to give him two seasons minimum (barring complete catastrophe). If he's no good at it top division football might be becoming a distant memory by then. Edit: I put this in the wrong thread
  16. I'd take Keegan back in a hearbeat under a different owner and make no apologies for saying so. The notion that he was somehow bound to fail is horseshit if you ask me. If they'd got him a left back and let him spend the Milner money instead of allowing Wise to spin out of control he'd still be here. It was entirely avoidable, but Ashley wasn't looking. The money involved here is not much at all by PL standards and if Ashley had backed KK to a reasonable extent for his three-and-a-half years he'd be sitting on a very different club at the end of it. Stupid, stupid twat.
  17. My sister's mate works at SJP. From what I hear staff morale is rock bottom and Derek Llambias is universally despised.
  18. I think Shearer will stay because my gut feeling is that Ashley will sell. He can't be enjoying it and he certainly isn't making money out of it. And he has no emotional connection with the club. What's in it for him? I guess what might keep him here is if we get relegated and he can't get a price he's prepared to accept; he might convince himself he can get us back up and get more for the club next season. But I do think there must be every chance he'll just cut his losses and get out as soon as he can. If he won't spend the money he can't keep Shearer; and he must know that going back to Kinnear is inconceivable. Meanwhile (I strongly suspect) he will be horrified when he sees what's going to happen to ST sales this summer - a lot of people are going to pick their games. He may as well just shut down the Platinum clubs and the Bar 1892s. He'll face a lot of expensive problems this summer, maybe more than he's prepared to take on, and if he's unsure these things might tip the scales. And I definitely wouldn't dismiss these Freddie Shepherd rumours. He'd love to come back, and he's always wanted Shearer as manager.
  19. I used to love these daft cunts and had a random urge to play them. Punk-cliche-tastic!
  20. Why don't you check Wikipedia Danny? I'm sure some sad cunt has posted some relevant information on the subject.
  21. Do you really think someone could just turn up in the boardroom with 'cockney tosser' on the back of their shirt, no questions asked?
  22. As is said above, that would have to have been sanctioned by Llambias or Ashley. I bet they were all having a right good laugh about it as well. I'd quite like to hear Alan Shearer's thoughts on it.
