  1. Yes but I am the only one to explain it in a Haiku.

  3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Mohammed an incredibly rich land lord who disappeared into a cave for 3 days, claiming he had met the angel Gabriel. Yeah, right. Islam has always been spread by the sword but then so has christianity. Actually there is no historical records of Mohammed of the time he was around (There is a good word to describe that but I have forgotten it). All writings about Mohammed come from around at least 100 years after his death. So people can't say he was this or that with any degree of certainty. Regarding the writing of the Koran though, iirc, it is supposed to be transcribed directly from the orations Mohammed gave in Mecca which came directly from the word of God he received via the Angel Gabriel (Djebril {sp?} in Arabic). The truth of it, therefore is supposed to be that it is the direct word of God/Allah. As for Mohammed's wealth. I believe it was his first wife (Kadiga iirc) that his wealth came from (I think she was a rich widow). Yeah she was. The first word of the q'uran is Read Mohammed said he couldn't and the angel gave him the power to do so. This proved it was the word of god. Of course we only have his word for that. He was a respected moderator between factions before this and was 40 when he got given the word. So I find it hard to believe he couldn't Read. I believe he wanted to unite the poorer people unhappy at the time. Which he did. The Arabs wanted their own Messiah and that is what he gave them.

  5. So did Mohammed tell people to spread the faith with the sword?
  6. Got a trout river at the bottom of me front garden. £12 a year to fish it scandalous.
  7. You would have identified with one of them. he has 4 TVs in his room. One for sky, one for terrestrial, one for his PS2, and another for DVD. Presumably he likes to do all four at once, rather than using scart leads. thats mad = 4 tvs in one room? Crazy Parents should be sterilised before they can ruin any other children.

  13. After reading some of the threads on here since NO went a bit pear shaped I think we need to help them out. Some people make Leazes Mag look like the face of reasoned debate.
  14. Aye, not only do I not support terrorists, I don't even believe in a united Ireland, quite a common sentiment in the Republic. Doesn't stop me understanding the obvious difference between a Republican and a terrorist. The IRA is the military wing of the Irish Republican movement. Their political head being SInn Feinn whose 2 most senior members are Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness both of whom were active members of the IRA. Martin McGuinness was commander in CHief.
  15. i was always under the impression they were as bad as each other. Republicans are people who want a 32 county, united Ireland. To call them as bad as people who spill the blood of innocents is a smidgen extreme. There's a correlation, but I think to tar them all with the same brush would be a mistake. Anyway, most/all terrorism I'm aware of springs up under an oppressive regime, as they require local supporters, financiers and recruits. Unionist terrorists do not fall into that category, so it's easy to see why the sympathy would not lie with them. I am sympathetic with the Anarchists/Socialists/Marxists during the Spanish Civil War, I have no Spanish blood that I am aware of, it's strange that anyone would think I had to to understand their cause. I.R.A. = Irish Republican Army. Why are you trying to disassociate the two?
  16. The problem we have at the moment is the attempt by current government to be all things to all men. We have unfortunately a very religious oriented government. This is a bad thing. The Government of the UK in my opinion should be purely secular. The idea of seperate faith schools is preposterous. Seperatism only leads to misunderstanding and resentment. All schools should be non faith schools and funded in exactly the same way. All faiths should be represented in the schools but only as a choice of parents to study RE. If RE is studied all religions must be given equal footing. It is also my belief that a rethink on human rights were religion is concerned is needed. People have a right to a religion. However when that religion comes up against rules already in place agreed by a majority the religion must come second. As for terrorists they should be given life without parole. It is also up to the muslim community of Britain to start publicly denouncing them. For the record I have my own religious ideas based on Christianity. Thats the real stuff where love and forgiveness are the 2 main components.
  17. How does a trout river visit you? Best things for me is the 5 min walk into town, the numerous bars and eateries nearby. It gets the bus dopey.
  18. Regular visits from foxes, badgers, squirrels , hundreds of types of birds and a trout river.
  19. You can get Colonically irrigated at many pubs and clubs in Newcastle around the pink triangle.
