  1. yes he has made better decisions than shearer, but loyalty is a big thing for most fans of football clubs. look at players like tony adams for arsenal, the chuckle brothers for manyoo, etc etc.... all his decisions are for the better of his family which i'm sure you'll all applaud, but whats the difference between the 50+ million he has and the whatever he'll get for playing out his career in the usa.... it shows of course that he is shrewd... also my examples of world cup winners were great players. lucky players like guivarch and kleberson, that turned it on for the odd game then traded on the fact that they were world cup winners as you say aren't in my consideration... as for him not being in the top 20 european plyers ever i'd agree. you've got Platini, Cryuff, Best, Puskas, Moore, Henry, Zidane, Stoichkov, Boban, Savicevic, Michael Laudrup, Schmeichel, Bobby Charlton, Lineker, Cantona, Matthaeus, Beckenbauer, Klinsmann, Muller, Baggio, Baresi, Maldini, Zoff, bergkamp, Neeskens, Van Basten, Boniek, Lato, Hagi, Dalglish, Gullit, Rijkaard..... all of these were better players in their position than beckham. on a lighter note it seems that freddie ljungberg is getting the boot from arsenal because he's joining a L.A. based talent agency.... something beckham may also be doing.
  2. gemmill, you are right. i've never been a massive fan of his. he played for manyoo ( a team i despise) and promised so much. he won leagues and cups, all of that, great. he was also proud to play for his country. well thats all and well but he's not bobby charlton, bobby moore or nobby stiles etc etc. he missed out on the big one didn't he. the world cup. in terms of success he's been a very good player but there are many many players out there that for me are better than him. i would put him in the top 75 players in history, but he really should have concetrated on his football rather than his image rights more, thats what i mean.... sure he's a global icon, and will make loads of money for himself and his team, but he won't make me like him. its all about the greed and selfishness for me that overshadows a player that really should have been the best (or top 3) midfielder of his generation.
  3. thats the thing about beckham. its all hype. and self indulgence. this is the man that cost us getting further in the world cup 2002, 1998, and by 06 it was clear his best days were past him. he also didn't perform in the champions league final when he played in it. now that he's approaching the end of his career, if i were him i'd look back and think i could have done more if i would have thought a bit more and not been so terribly selfish.
  4. good to see that that parasitic idiot goody's mums been booted out. scum tbh.
  5. fuel is between 78-82% tax already people. what beggars beleif is we are spending the taxpayers money on a fucking pointless war, when we have yet to clean up our roads/ education / nhs etc etc...
  6. neither, i can't be categorised its a good pro mod film.....
  7. true enough gemmill but the point i made about him being not mobile enough for the spanish league means that in a league like the prem which is 100mph all the time i'd suggest he would not be able to make the impact that he used to. would demand a heft salary and also a fair slice of the image rights, mind you luque has the no 7 shirt and he should be off soon? after all at real he wasn't going to get the number 7 shirt off of raul was he ( a much better player for his club than beckham even when out of form)!

to be fair, steve jobs is one of the best marketers in the world. if he farted and bottled it he could sell it! for me this phone will be a sales success simply because it says i-***** and looks slick. US kids love that shit and so do most dumb consumers.
  9. us league/ serie a is where he belongs. not mobile enough for the spanish league, which tells its own story really. figo did really well last season in serie A despite having as much mobility as steven hawkins when he's out of his vocodermobile.
  10. alex, to be fair i'd like to see that skinny bitch dead in the metro centre. beckam is very much past his best now folks. would probably do for a season and would link up well with a fully fit owen.... or a forward that moves well... but his lack of legs (in terms of stamina and pace) means he's more of a liability against decent or quick opposition. still a great passer of the ball though.

other vendors already have better items out that are probably more stable / reliable..... it will be obsolete before it reaches mass market in the uk.
  12. hughes was a member of the side that came 3rd 4th and 5th in the prem. solid but unspectacular.... and not the player he was with us... (he was not that bad with us btw) diarra is supposed to be the new makalele from what i hear. bit of an ego as well... ferdinand is a confidence player and really not good enough. been found out at this level to be honest...
  13. the eurovisions only really relevant to gays and people that have no soul or talent.
  14. is his agent that scumbag mckay.....
  15. for the record the fat chav and her inbred folks are getting £150k for the pleasure of making everyone hate them even more...
  16. yes, and a first choice corner and freekick taker..... take note emre, this lad can deliver a decent ball in.....
  17. talented player except he lacks pace and his crossings not his best attribute. got a lot of skill and is pretty much fearless. deserves better than the way we've treated him... SWP is even worse at crossing than him... but is really fucking quick like.... if he were to come here (which i doubt) he would be an asset if played week in week out...
  18. question for me is who is going to win. leo sayer i reckon. as for that tower of london bloke its either career suicide or hopefully just suicide.
  19. lazy as anything according to the 3 fulham fans i work with. they don't rate him as the player he once promised to be.... panic buy tbh...
  20. though still completely shit as far as i remember. cleo rocos hasn't aged too well has she.
  21. little britain has out stayed its welcome. the thick of it was excellent observational humour. still have not seen the mighty boosh yet..... oh and darkplace was released in 04. but is still really really good. did anyone see the dean learner series on 4 recently thought that had some good moments...
  22. Jonny.... barry ferguson is a deep lying holding player that can pass the ball. least thats the position he's played in for a few years now. it also happens that he's a decent free kick taker and has a good shot so can pretty much do the lot. except play in the premier league!
  23. peter kays biography. if you've seen that peter kay thing its just an expanded version of that.... not bad but by no means great.... also just finished the QI book... quite an interesting read.
  24. your all probably right. very good player in a very bad league perhaps....
  25. newcastles first half playmobil half EMO fullback/ centreback.. david james started it off......
