absolutely, shearer on the board of selectors. jeezus wept. great player etc etc but far too selfish for my money to be given any semblance of control. Yet.
-
true enough, would work wonders in a diamond formation in the middle as well, as the forward looking point of the diamond.
-
forgive me if i am wrong, but is he saying he has a blanket that costs too much and is patchy in places as well as having some overrated past their best parts, and some say the purple patch in it is fading, also the real owner is a russian that doesn't really care about it.
-
defo his best position is as the old inside forward, fuck knows why he always used to think centremid was his best place. showing reasonably good form atm, but right mid/ wing or inside forward would be his best place.
-
exactly jonny he's a manager that has a good record, getting a team like leicester to 2 cup wins and top 10 in the league with the players he had was really good management, getting a poor celtic team to the final of the uefa cup is no mean feat. knee jerk reactions however seem to be the order of the day here some times (and i'm not exempt) i know who i'd rather have managing my team. despite roeder getting some decidedly good results recently it for my money is more by luck than judgement, despite the defence having an average age of 18.3 etc etc...

I may not play this season - Owen

if shola comes back we can save him for next season. not that i'm comparing shola to owen in any way. -
Why Roeder has made Wenger his role model
tinofbeans replied to Scottish Mag's topic in Newcastle Forum
who's his press agent. he must be pissing himself having read that. -
skhwoody. the way sol campbell has played for pompy has been extremely impressive. despite his age he is still probably one of the top 3 or 4 centrebacks in the premiership. why on earth we didn't go for him i don't know.
-
what was the reason apart from getting £7m for him, for him leaving last time. i heard he was booted out of arsenal and fulham for being a thief. but can't substantiate.
-
so in summary someone needs to rejuvenate our scouting network, change the terms we deal with players on. sounds like some sort of plan.

Football players with nut like names

very true. its a question of balance and contacts in the world of football directorships. look at arsenal, they have on the board a load of wheeler dealers that get revenue for them and get paid reasonable retainers based on what they actually bring in to the club (thats one of the reasons why they are an attractive proposition, because they have people grafting away making sure they are represented globally and get revenue in from around the world). the board we have generates a bit of cash, but its peanuts compared to the big boys. also the board are quite happy to take their slice of the profits with (IMHO) scant regard for the wellbeing financially of the club.

you've kind of nailed it,the lack of quality however at left back indicates to me that either our scouting network is shit ( which i think it is) or we still haven't identifed internally at newcastle that the most obvious priority is a quality left back, thats comfortable on the ball, has genuine pace, good tackling and distribution skills and can cross! its not too much is it?

is gail porter still bald then in this? was well fit when a bit younger mid to late 20's tbh
-
handy tip for people going to reading that! or not. i've got a swedish friend and they are a good natured sort that can't handle their drink.
-
how can we be pleasantly surprised. whats going to happen?
-
with the budget they've had and the resources they punch well above their weight. expect them to do well next season as well. a sensible well run club tbh.

nah, i live south of the watford gap. may as well name it cuntsville.

11.18am: "Several Dutch media outlets are reporting that Newcastle's Alberto Luque is heading to PSV Eindhoven for a six month loan period, to give him a chance to shine again," writes Raymond Strake. "Just waiting for the NUFC chairman to give the green light. But the real touching story over here is that Man City is ready to take Michael Ball from PSV. Makes you wonder how smooth some agents are." You'll be a long time waiting to see a green light anywhere near the Newcastle chairman, Raymond. I think you're more likely to find him basking in the glow of a red light.

there's a reason for that. newcastle is a fantastic night out. you should try where i live, its full of pretentious audi tt driving muppets.
-
looks likely that he won't start for a while. if he comes good we can get that plodder bramble out of the team. bit concerned about the extra 12 months on his contract with the belgians ... if he does turn out to be good i can see us getting screwed for cash we don't really have.
-
good point not good enough for the premiership either of them.

its a winning team with the jingoist giant, the dwarf daytime tv bloke and the chubby chap that looks like he could have fronted a prog rock band. you actually couldn't make it up. its good daft television.
