  1. NUSC were asked for comment from a number of sources, I know that 4 people were on the phone from 7am giving interviews and comment. Trouble is I think our simple "it can only be a good thing now lets all get behind the team for the next 8 games" type of statement isnt what they are necessarily looking for (as we know especially with SSN) and therefore they'll still go and hunt out every doyle they can.
  2. Thats the bit I dont understand from everyone though, this isnt something theyve just announced. From the first breaking of the story it was always that "8 games and 8 games only". If theres a change of plan then great but until then Im working as I have from the start of this that Alan is here to do a firefighting job and then walk away, not necessarily because thats what he wants to do but because thats what they want.
  3. Funny how Ryder has just realised this is newsworthy today... What's he like man? I expect a "I was called by a world class manager while I was on the bus to Liverpool with all me mates drinking cans at 7am...." before the end of the season.

  5. I cant see Boro or WBA getting out of the shite though so its only one of your predictions.
  6. Frankly the makems must be shitting bricks now, if we dont go down then its between them, Stoke and Hull as far as I can see with them being good bets for it. So Big Al coming in and saving us at their expense should just about finish them off I reckon and fitting revenge for the way they finished his career
  7. Eh? the fact you've had to ask that question surprises me but Christmas Tree has already answered that tbh. I would totally disagree that the bit in bold will make many people happy tbh, if however Ashley stays and he starts to run the club like a football club should be ran then things will be different. As for what will be our objectives, what exactly is it you think our objectives are now? All we've asked for from the start is change, change from the shit that was happening to this club, this is a definite start and something that should rightly be applauded but its not a long term change, its a short term, get us out of the shite change. Its not a result, its not a guarantee that next year we wont be in the same position only this time without the chance of Al coming in and saving the day. The supporters club is there for the supporters, to fight their corner when things arent quite right. To stand up for them when stewards take their job too far, when the club denies the repayment of VAT money that is rightfully theirs. Its also there to allow the fans to get their views forward, regardless of what anyone says it does allow that, the backing of a membership of 1100 plus gives a far bigger chance of Bobby Shinton being heard than if he shouts on his own. More importantly though the SC is there for the members, it will become what they make it. As I said I meant Shearer, Ashley and the club management (everyone) is happy. No one expects Bobby Shinton being heard by himself. My organisation, the fans at the match were heard though (unless that was NUSC) You seem to be very defensive every time some one questions or disagrees with NUSC. By the way (my little bite oooooooooooooh 1100 members) . Heaton Bingo have more You didnt get a bite tbh, you asked a pointless question but I still took the time to give you an answer.
  8. Sod off, I've been watching since Wor Jackie Hillburn played... Hows Richard Mills doing since you "happy slapped" him?
  9. That's the doubt I was on about dickhead And anyone who thinks Ashley woke up on Sunday morning in a Scrooge like state after being visited by the ghosts of Toon past, present and future wants their heads examining.
  10. I dont care how much Shearer gets for keeping us up. At the end of the day Kinnear gets £1million if Shearer keeps us up allegedly. That was the deal, if we stay in the Prem then JFK gets a million. So if he gets it then Im sure as fuck that big Al should considering hes sorting out the daft old twats mistakes.
  11. Hold your horses man ffs Got to say I don't know how anyone could have got the impression he was staying after 8 games. He categorically ruled it out several times. Do you not think he was being very cagey regarding many of his answers though. Things like "I hope to be in the stadium next season with Newcastle as a top flight club" and when pressed about his/Joes future saying that would be decided in the summer by other people. That and the fact hes contracted to the BBC and JFK to us, I don't think he could have said much more than he did tbh.. This. Everyone knows he's staying. You could tell by his face, even people that are trying to put an alternative slant on it, they know he's staying too IF WE STAY UP. Every question about afterwards was deflected to "the powers that be" - you'll have to ask them. Everyone knows the crack. I'm tending to agree with this. I think what Alex says about him not discussing anything because he doesn't need to is probably true to an extent but to me, he looked very much like a man who, if given the choice, would snap their hands off to stay next season. He'd love to in an ideal world I think. But he needs promises, and even if he gets them he'll be away if they're broken. I just hope to goodness 1) we stay up 2) he stays and 3) we're sold because, sadly a big injection of cash is the only thing that'll make a long term difference anyway. Egssfookinsactly.

  13. So what does Ashley do if Shearer buggers off after the 8 games? Go back and ask Dennis to return? This regime had faith in DW, they believed he was doing a good job and it was all part of the master plan. I think personally that DW was due to leave anyway, either through another job or because the whole regime is away and therefore this was inevitable. If he was already nailed on for more then why say its 8 only? why not just come out and give everyone an even bigger feelgood factor and get even more plaudits than they are doing? Why does Shearer himself state that its only 8 games? Lets just be realistic and if it happens then all the better, I for one though refuse to get my hopes up that this is a brave new Ashley/Shearer dawn.
  14. I refer the honourary gentleman to his 7th place prediction.
  15. I'll donate £100 to a charity of your choice if Shearer isn't NUFC manager in 5 months time. He's already obliterated a system which Ashley had so much faith in, in the space of two days (DOF), I don't think it's even up for debate that Shearer was squarely behind the removal of Dennis Wise, so you think if he's only going to be here 8 games, Ashley would be prepared to completely alter the structure of the club to get someone in for eight days. What is Shearer supposed to say about Kinnear too, "he's had a heart attack fuck him"? He's just giving him some respect, Kinnear's comments about "moving upstairs" are of a man who is patently aware of the situation. Shearer is our permanent manager, nothing that has been said or will be said in the press conference today will alter that view. Im not saying he wont be here, what I am saying is that he and Ashley will not both be. If Shearer stays then its because somebody new owns the club not through Ashley. It would take a total turn around in methods and thinking for that to happen and we all know its not going to. So Meenzer gets the cash.
  16. This announcement is great and frankly I dont think theres anything more we could have hoped to happen at this stage in the season (other than the FA suddenly deciding that the bottom 3 clubs should swap places with the top 3) but people need to start getting a sense of reality. There is nothing to hint that Shearer will be here after the season has ended, nothing at all and if Ashley is still in charge then I believe there is no way he will. The removal of Wise is not down to Shearer, either he was already on his way or theres something bigger going on. Think about it for a minute, Ashley didnt put Keegan ahead of Wise even though he'd already had proof of what KK could do and how he was viewed by the fans, hes Ashleys mate, they have already stated that this is the plan, this is the structure and this is what we are going to do. You dont suddenly scrap a 5 year plan just on the demands of a temporary manager. If they were going to change everything around again then they would want assurances of Shearer staying, the signing of a contract and then they'd parade this brave new world to us as a masterstroke in Llambias planning (we've listened to the fans, made mistakes, know what needs to be done etc etc yaddda yadda..) If Shearer was to take the job on full time then he would want a total clearout and his own players bringing in, this would require money, guarantees of proper money. Hes not going to be happy settling for us being a bit part club, an also ran who class a good season as one where they dont get relegated. SHearer is a winner, he proved that in his career and I dont care what people say he will have a regret that he didnt go to the likes of Man U for a couple of seasons before coming home. Hes not going to make that mistake again. Does anyone really believe deep down that Ashley is suddenly going to hand over that kind of cash, this club is in a terrible state financially was the statement, this club needs to get sorted before we can spend. Mike Ashley has been hit by the credit crunch etc. He didnt spend when he had 1.5 billion hes not going to do it now whens hes got a third of that and having problems business wise elsewhere. Lets be happy that we now have a chance of staying up or at least if we do go down its fighting and not just with quiet realisation that we were doing but lets not be drawn into some false belief that this in itself is the dawning of a new era.
  17. Its down as being afternoon so training is normally finished about 1, you're looking at 2 - 3ish I would think.
  18. cool, £2 donation and a pint is £2.50 Im in credit :woohoo will donate tomorrow
  19. Jeeeeez I too got hooked on the programme and thought he took a canny part as well. RIP
  20. It was KK that brought him in... Same as all those youngsters were more than likely spotted by scouts and recommended to the club with Wise having the job to convince them to sign (which he failed with a couple of promising youngsters, like Vokes). I think Volkes is a different case, he's played 30 times for Wolves this season, he'd have been lucky to make the bench at the toon. He'd been unlucky not to make the bench this season tbh... As much as I agree with the policy of acquiriny young talents from all over the world. How successfull this approach is going to be we will only see in a couple of years time as normally only few players actually turn good... It's a policy that only works when you add them to a succesful first team. Adding a few drops of red wine to a bucket of anti-freeze, just dilutes and ruins the wine. Adding a few drops of anti freeze to a bucket of wine gives you more wine. Remind me never to come to yours for tea
