on a seperate note I copied a DVD which had been written to DVD -R and went to write it to a +R dvd but it wouldnt allow me to, said it needed a -R disc, anyone got any ideas, Ive just bought 50 +Rs so dont really want to go out and buy more -Rs unless I have to.

I only use NERO, always seems nice and straight forward to me, drag and drop, never had any problems with it. You've got me stumped with that one though.

yes. And it appeared to be burning perfectly to the DVD, which I've used many times for other types of files to normal CD-R and CD-RW's. Wierd thing is, I had a loan of a CD-R of a lad who had formatted it like a CD-RW for some reason ie roxio opened it's "formatted disk" programme and was the only way I could use the disk. I am wondering if this has interfered with the setup of the DVD writer. I have uninstalled and re-installed roxio which made no difference. I am just considering whether to put these tracks onto some DVD-RW disks, but am puzzled because the DVD-R should work shouldn't it ? 110494[/snapback] when you say the files are scattered over the Hard Drive, were they in different folders etc? ie some of them in existing program folders or document folders etc? All I can think off the top of my head is that its seeing the Hard Drive or a partition of it as the DVD writer, check the settings within Roxio and make sure that the drive its using is the same one as your actual writer. (I know it sounds daft but possibly its just got reassigned to a different drive by mistake.
