I dont think any smoker would actively dispute that smoking is a terrible habit and a killer, yes its killing me but so is alcohol to halve the people on this board. The difference between smoking and alcohol is that smoking can help to kill others as well, those that dont smoke and never have done. What I would always argue against is that, by having a habit that isnt illegal and which does pump huge amounts of revenue into the government then smokers shouldnt be classed as second class citizens and warrant people saying they dont deserve health care. If it was illegal then that argument could hold some weight however it isnt.

Woooaaah!! Thats one geet big "dont wanna talk about it cos its against Robert" statement innit? and the anti-Souness/ Bowyer/ Faye (all for that one mind) camp dont do any of these things do they? It is relevant, he is still a Toon player and any Robert goings on affect this club, if he scores goals it makes him more attractive for a sale at the end of the loan and therefore bumps his price up, if he farts around like a nob and wanders Sunderland instead of being at the game then his price goes down, simple as.

Devoted fans, Margaret Harrington and her 24 year old son Con, are camping out in NEwcastle to get tickets to see Sir Cliff. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/4384222.stm Yep, a perfectly sane, normal and well adjusted family I reckon.

when I was 16 I thought it was geet cool. by the time I was 18, I was well and truly hooked, 20 Bensons a day, at 22 I gave it up and lasted for 8 years but it never leaves you. Nobody ever believes the story of how I started again but Im gonna tell it anyway just to show how addicitve the stuff is. about 8 years after giving up and Im in ASDA, on the counter they had a pizza to try so I grabbed a bit and stuck it in me gob. Some minging bastid must have ran their nicotine covered hands over it (either that or it was a Bacon and Regal pizza) for 3 weeks solid all I could taste was tabs, had to fight the urge for months and then one day was in the kitchen and agreed to light a tab for me missus. Next thing I know Im puffing away and shes having to grab another for herself. I want to stop and have tried a number of times since but each time end up going back and when I do I smoke more than ever. I've thought about patches however the tabs I smoke contain 0.1Mg of nicotine and the smallest patch is about 5Mg so by my reckoning Id have to smoke 50 tabs a day to get the same nicotine so I cant see how they'd work.
