I think what got me was the time I went in to find the ground floor had a load of black and white photos of an old man in his allotment, 1st floor had 60+ paintings of women having either a fiddle or a crap. 3rd floor was closed and the fourth had a load of actual leavless trees with pieces of paper stuck on saying things such as "David Blunkett is blind" on them and another saying "30 minutes wasted is half an hour of your life gone" remember at that point thinking "too fooking right you bastids!"

agreed, I would go in regularly however the number of times I've wandered in to find its empty pisses me off. Cant understand why they dont stagger them so theres always 3 of the 4 floors with exhibits.

Getting ripped apart by "Inside Out" programme and quite rightly if you ask me. Seems they commission work and pay thousands for it but dont follow the guidelines and take a cut when the art is sold on. That huge Tyne bridge meccano piece they had when it opened cost them tens of thousands then the artist went and sold it on for 400grand with no money going back to Baltic. (Its now owned and displayed by Luis Vitton in Paris). Seems they also turned down a chance at a big Van Gogh exhibition but will often leave the place virtually empty for weeks on end while they change the exhibitions. And on top of that, the fookin place plays some really shit loud fairground music every morning at 9am!
