Newcastle United v Norwich City
hostile_statue replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
I agree, and I never said that. Pardew prefers not having to control games/dominate possession, that's what I said. And of course when you've managed Charlton, Southampton, Reading and West Ham that's often the case and it becomes natural. Look at Moyes, he's having problems with the transition as Man U of course is seeing more of the ball than their opponents in most games, unlike Everton. They beat Arsenal yesterday, the possession was 40-60 in Arsenal's favour. Moyes/Pardew still prefers that, it's still natural for them. -

No. Some of our best performances in 2010-11 and 11-12 came vs Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea. Last season we couldn't beat anyone, neither the Man U's or the mackems. And relax, tough guy. Smoke some more baccy. -

Yeah, I agree with this. He's a 4-4-2 man at heart. Will be interesting if he can change the set-up of the team for these 2 games. I'm not convinced. Pardew is a small club manager and at his best when facing a team that is dominating possesion. -

What happened to not celebrating when scoring against your old club? (RvP)

Yeah they were really missing Silva, too predictable and didn't really create enough.

He can play as both. He's shit as a winger though. I fear he would be another Andreas Andersson (certainly got the looks for it).
-
No, no. He's simply not good enough. (it's Toivonen btw )
-
Nah, he should be but he'll get this season at least. Of course he's very much out of his depth and for me that was clear already when he was appointed.

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team

This, however, could point towards Pardew: "Furthermore, co-chairman Stephen Browett has exclusively told the Advertiser: "There is probably one we’d like the most but it’s a bit complicated at the moment." http://www.croydonadvertiser.co.uk/Alan-Pardew-odds-Crystal-Palace-job-tumble/story-20048485-detail/story.html#ixzz2jzdrpxQZ- 10610 replies

Exactly. I posted something similar a few months back.

Of course many managers would do better, that's the thing; Pardew knows he'll never get a job this big again, when he was appointed Newcastle manager his CV read Charlton, Reading, West Ham and Southampton, all you have to say really. You could say he's crap/average enough to manage us, or you could say he's about the best we can get with the present regime. Either way, it's not a good thing...
