  1. "How we like a bit of irony, although one does wonder whether Guy Ritchie realises that he is the source of it. Perhaps, by protesting about the ludicrous price of property in Central London, he thought he was supporting victims of the unstable housing market. Instead, by pointing out that, thanks to new money, it's almost impossible to buy a house there “unless you've got 10 million quid”, he comes across as, well, a bit spoilt and daft. To date, Ritchie and his material wife, Madonna, are believed to have invested in six London properties, including a £7 million house in Marylebone and the £6 million pad next door, now converted into a gym. However shrewd Madonna is at investing in property, it's impossible not to regard her wealth as new." Must be a nightmare being married to Madge imho. Clearly she has a bigger dick. http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol...icle3808188.ece
  2. Luck >>>>>> anything so long as it stays with you. Aye. Try not to get caught in the senate without your lectors.
  3. Known as the secretaries wine. There's a lush NZ Pinot Gris I sometimes get. Matakana Estate. Matakana Estate Pinot Gris Matakana Auckland "Description: This graceful wine has a light lemon hue. The bouquet offers delicate, sensuous aromas of sun-ripened pears, soft peach, subtle quince and a whisper of cloves. Rich and luscious flavours of ripe melon, succulent apple and lychee are wrapped seductively in a soft creamy texture. The full, stylish palate surrenders to a long smooth finish." Mmmmm...
  4. I don't think he's lucky in the context that he is a feckless muppet that doesn't have a clue that somehow manages to fluke things in a sustained way. I think he's lucky in that where things are tight (and he has no real influence over the situation) things tend to go his way, which is a great quality to have in a manager, just not necessarily a quality of a great manager. For example? I can think of Lazio winning the league on the last day that time when Juve's match was virtually rained off. You can't be lucky all your career though, yet he's done a good job at every club he's been at. He did well as England manager too imo. Relatively-speaking he certainly did and I think you can only be judged against your peers if you're making fair comparisons. I think he's a good manager, but not a great one (which again goes back the start of the season nonsense). Again someone with a different reputation doing the same things he did in the England job would have got all sorts of things said about them (probably rightfully), and again many times there he got the rub of the green to take pressure off when he needed it. He's got a lot of qualities as a manager, but without his general luck, he'd never have been as successful, or as perceived as such. Good generals are lucky generals as a general rule.

Very harsh. Other managers would get raped in the press for the same decisions (or sometimes lack of) he has made at times, especially in the England job, "tactical nativity" might even have been used. I don't think he's rubbish, but I do think he generally gets the rub of the green when he needs it. The tempo and movement at Man City for the first half of the season was awesome. The mid-season inj to Elano is when they started losing it, apart from the fact that the squad has quality but little depth and imo needs another transfer window to be where Sven would like. The Bojinow inj hasn't helped either, bit 'unlucky' if you llike...

  8. Totally agree, sadly. Still find it quite amusing that people keep bringing up Leeds, as if to prove some point to be honest, the point being to misrepresent the old board. Simple fact is that its a complete one off, and anybody who thinks Bolton are a bigger and better club than Leeds is a total wanker. Do I take it that as Bolton are being mentioned here, Allardyce was a justified and worthy appointment by the old board for doing a lot better than Leeds ? Also highly amusing that people focus on the last few years of Shepherd and the Halls and completely discount the previous 12 or 13, not even mentioning the state the club was in when they found it in comparison to how they left it. Shouldn't need this pointing out though, the Champions League qualification, UEFA Cup qualifications, 2 FA Cup Finals and a sell out 52,000 crowd for a decade really speaks for itself. Who exactly are all these superior clubs that didn't match that ? It's Ashley's club now, aye. I've only pointed out that Spurs [ a smaller club than us] have mugged us for the first time in 20 years. Do you think that NUFC should act like the big club we think we are or not ? The Leeds thing isn't really a fair comparison as their wages had reached 88% of income and they didn't own 5/6 of their key players so they couldn't even sell out of trouble.
  9. Svennis is a very good manager with an excellent CV. They want to tie him to a 5yr deal.
  10. Known as the secretaries wine.
  11. richards, senderos, skrtel, agger, pique and samba are all around the same age as him and they are much better Senderos looks distinctly average to me. Pique too early to tell.
  12. They're after that Portugese wallah.
  13. #49 Like 2001 and TGTBATU, the masses will come around to it's genius in the long run. Finished 3rd in the best of 2007. Where? It's the highest rated of 2007 on IMDB... http://www.imdb.com/chart/2000s Best of 2007 list (meta).

  16. "Oh that kinda hurt....Really quite painful"...said in a rather camp voice. How I imagine Pat to sound.
  17. Well he does admit he inherited a 'dangerous side' from Cuper so fair play to him.
  18. Where is it in the old metacritic now Nappyface...eh?
  19. I disagree, I think you're always going to have certain problems when rotating players regardless of quality. I take Rafa's point about keeping players fresh at the start of the season but if the result is that when it comes to the middle of the season and you're already out of the running for the league then it really defeats the purpose. Getting off to a good start and being there or there abouts come January can result in momentum and the chase often giving players that extra 10% of energy what keeps them going until the end of the season. I think Rafa was quite lucky at Valencia where he inherited a team on the up and up from Cuper. *Runs off to check if true* ewerk This interview with Benitez explains his theories on rotation, if you're interested. Benitez interview with Balague Park Life The interview also answers your question about Hector Cuper Cheers. Having a read now.
  20. His crust should have been relegated years ago, boring cunt I'm sure he's had a control chip put in his head.

  22. Michael Owen and Oba Martins don't count then ? "mate"......... one day people willl stop making things up Don't count in what? If I remember correctly Martins wasn't exactly Luka Modric when he joined us and Owen came because we priced the next nearest bidder out by around £8 million and we offered him a sustantial amount of cash. I don't think either signed because we were their first choice but more due to the lack of interest/money offered by other clubs. To me it looks like we got into a straight fight with Tottenham over Modric and got a bloody nose for the reasons listed in my earlier post. Now maybe if we'd offered £10 million more and 100k a week things would've been different but that is a daft way to do deals, especially as everything signals to a late, late bid by Spurs which tipped the scales in their favour. you implied that we didn't attract this type of player, so I'm saying - correctly - that we got our men Nowt too difficult about that is there ? From what I know the player didn't have much to do with it, regardless of his recent comments.
  23. I think that is too close to call.
