  1. This is the thing I don't understand, I think you've got a right to be unhappy at finishing fourth. As far as the league goes you basically haven't progressed at all since Benitez took over, despite him being backed in the transfer market. Surely after all the time he has been there yous should be expecting to make a realistic title challenge imo. Exacertdly.

It's all in the wrist mate.
  3. Wouldn't it concern you that Rico, Leazes and Stevie could also have guns too? Depends if they've been practicing. Or if they're all locked in the same room

  9. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtm...nvoronin110.xml Andriy Voronin bemoans life at Liverpool By Vicki Hodges Last Updated: 9:07am BST 10/04/2008 "Out-of-favour striker Andriy Voronin has made himself Public Enemy No 1 on Merseyside after criticising the standard of living in Britain and in particular the city of Liverpool. The 27-year-old Ukrainian has failed to make an impact on the pitch since arriving on a free transfer from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, but he has made his presence felt when it comes to bemoaning all that is wrong with life in the UK. Get me outta here: Voronin launches attack on life in England Voronin took no prisoners in his rant which criticised the Scouse way of talking, the high crime rate in the city and attacked the country's health care." Compared with Germany, England is far behind in terms of comfort and culture," Voronin said in an interview with a Russian newspaper. "Five out of the seven houses near us are occupied by footballers. advertisement "Steve Gerrard was burgled recently so a police patrol car comes into our compound fairly often. "We hear police sirens all the time. Leverkusen, by contrast, was so much quieter." On Britain's health care, he said: "The medical services here are poor. When I was in Germany, there were lots of good clinics and doctors. "It is nothing like that here - when our child had a skin allergy we waited hours for the doctor to see him. "When we finally got to see a doctor, he said he didn't know how to treat children and to try rubbing in this ointment. "That was it. I was stunned. As a result my wife had to go back to Odessa with him and took a full set of tests there."
  10. Again. Just seems to go on and on does n`t it.....................funny that! Yeah anyone would think the competition was rigged. Clearly Torres has made the differance when your two banks of 90 defenders decide to counter attack.
  11. Nicos chuckles as he has cunningly draws a pre-emptive strike on R1CO.
  12. Tarantino is erasing violence. A lot of people say it's highly stylised, but actually it's erased. The moment is not rendered. 'The money' needed someone to take Spike Lee out of the loop at the time - back in the day....The rest is history...Black became white and everything returned to normale...Illusionare...
  13. They don't give a fuck about the PL. I can see all the issues regarding a breakaway league believe me. But once the money (tv, mastercard, toyota etc) is in place...It will happen. Italian clubs organise their own tv money already iirc. I totally disagree. Most clubs have already realised that an European league won't work for a foreseeable future as it can't create the same (financial) attraction as the national leagues. Look at attendances, but also atthe revenue created especially by TV money in both the domestic leagues and the European competition. The Championsleague is a nice bonus as it is now (as it helps to widen the gap to other domestic teams), but wouldn't work as a breakaway league on its own. Trickle down is a nice idea but when big business and branding gets hold of something it normally ends up as summat totally different. But if you and others are holding faith in the average football supporter don't hold your breath. For me the structure now is about right.....But for clubs who want to keep all the money and be in a league it is almost impossible to get relegated out of that is another thing and as more big money comes into football it will unfortunately be a business descision on many levels sadly. How many shirts do Man U or Barca sell abroad or internationally compared to their core support....? But I agree it would be a quantum leap but don't doubt dark minds in air conditioned offices aren't looking at the get go.
  14. I honestly believe that any such league would only be successful in the short term, soon fans will grow weary of it and return to a football product they feel they have some degree of investment in(both monetarily and emotionally). Tribal?

Italian clubs organise their own tv money already iirc. Slowly football is being pulled away from its roots....The tipping point has already happenned where more money comes from media and perhaps overseas interest rather than the core game going support.

  17. Same for everybody though and like someone has already alluded to, we weren't complaining when we got in, were we?? It's what happens over 38 games, not just the start of the season too... Agree with what Isegrim has said - whilst the European Cup should be the champions playing oen another, the countries aren't equal on performance and it becomes terribly dull. The other extreme is a breakaway league but that would simply end up alienating those of us left and a Premiership title would be seriously under-valued if Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool & Man Utd aren't involved. They've got it about right. Liverpool succeed because they're well suited to European football and not so in the Premiership. I remember making that observation back in 2004 when Benitez hadn't been in charge long. I think Liverpool seem to rise to an occassion better than others and that is why I think they beat Chelsea in the two semis and Arsenal last night. I have a feeling it's going to be a Liverpool v Barca final - dunno why but I just have that feeling that Man Utd are feeling too cocky and are gonna end up with egg on their faces. There will be a breakaway league. When and how who knows....They will incorporate some kind of linkage to the national leagues for sure. Just as business became extra (outside of) national so will will football at the highest level. The fact that we already see signs that the best part of the PL is finding it hard to compete with the summit so it will be a progression.
  18. Wouldn't it concern you that Rico, Leazes and Stevie could also have guns too? Depends if they've been practicing.
  19. The kind of background idea has been to broaden the lucrativity of the competition to a wider tier and in some senses encourage the feeling of what ultimately could be a breakaway league. UCL is trying to protect itself by being inclusive to say a top four and keep them tied to Uefa and not be tempted away to another breakaway league...If that makes sense.
  20. A view that has nothing to do with your scouse girlfriend of course Like I said, I couldn't care who'd won it all i was interested in seeing was a good game of football which is what we got... No-one enjoys winding her up more than me so your theory is counter-productive. To be fair though, who the fuck wants to have to listen to that lot crow about winning it again. if it was between us and them - fair enough, i'd want us to win obviously... but as we're not in it i don't care who wins so long as it's a decent game. THAT tonight was a classic cup match and anyone who says otherwise has an agenda. If Liverpool won on playing the better football then I'd say fair enough even though I can't stand the turds. But once again dodgy decisions have gone their way. Three times against Arsenal, two blatant pens for the Arse turned down, one 50/50 for Pool is given. Boils my piss. But hey, at least Craig will get some tonight so it's all good! They do get an awful lot of descisions for sure.
  21. Fuck off Methodical, slow, too many wristbands etc...
  22. Beautiful run, moment of the game by a mile.
