  1. I was astounded to learn recently that 'grockle' is actually in the OED !! I always said it was a real word Snakey!
  2. I love you lot Leazes, you are welcome anytime!
  3. Harsh Feel Free. As with any town there are some really shitty areas but also some that are stunning here. Did you go to Meadfoot/Babbacombe coastline? Or Cockington/Livermead? I expect you only visited the 'grockle' areas though like around the town and harbour. Living here means that I am so close to beautiful places...Dartmouth, Salcombe, Dartmoor to name but a few, there are some gorgeous places in Devon. I live in the Lincombes, it takes me 5mins to walk to Meadfoot baech which is lovely, very unspoilt around this part of Torquay. But go into the top end of town, Scum alley!! We even have an area we call down here the 'Scouse Riviera' Shit-hole! PS. Did you go up in the balloon on the seafront then? I bloody hate that ugly contraption.
  4. Snow Patrol- Take back the City (I quite like it) 3 Colours Red-Beautiful day A Perfect circle-various tracks
  5. The only non Newcastle thing I'd like to see happen is for Torquay United to promote. The start of the season had it looking like we'd very likely go down. But we are on a very good run now so its possible, but tough to get out of the conference.
  6. QOTSA-Autopilot. Love it!!! 3 Doors down-Behind those eyes Deftones-Minerva Nick Cave-He wants you
  7. I think I spotted some canny buildings there too, but that could have been anything. Glasgow's much nicer and friendlier. FACT. Thats what our mate says! (He's from Glasgow) Thanks very much for the info GM. Very interesting. As it turns out I wont be going now, mainly cos I'm a big girl's blouse and whilst they are up there hubby and son going to watch the racing at Cowdenbeath raceway on the Saturday night as they are so close to it. I just dont fancy it, cold and tired standing there all night shivering my tits off! Also I am looking after my neighbour's cats whilst they are in Italy, (Catmag will approve) so it all became too complicated for me to go too. I'm sorry I wont see the Forth Bridge though. As it turns out there's a chap Hubby makes race parts for who happened to ring him today to post some parts up to him, further discussion revealed he lives 3 miles from Auchtermuchty, so they have been invited to go watch the racing with them and stay at his place overnight ! What a small world. I will also be sorry to miss the ice-cream shop, as I bet they have turkish delight flavour. But I will mention it to hubby as he is a big ice-cream fan!! Yes they have Turkish Delight flavour ice-cream. And Irn Bru sorbet - the only place I have ever come across this! Oh well, your loss...! I've never seen or heard of that before! Damn it all, I love Irn Bru aswell
  8. Thanks Wacky, actually it looks really quaint. I'd love to visit the parish church, but then I love buildings.

  10. Sounds frumpy, but bet its not. Lets see a pic then.
  11. Ive only seen a couple episodes, but I quite like 'By any means' Hardly watched Long way round and Long way down though, think maybe I might. Should I bother? Saw a trailor for a series with Griff Rhys Jones presenting, looked quite interesting. Not sure when it starts or what its called though! Love Dexter. When oh when is Shameless due back??
  12. Congratulations. I've had an awful year (and its only just October now) But its good to hear some good news. I heard last night I am going to be a great Aunty....at least I think I'm pleased with that!
  13. Question is, if she (he) was fit as f*ck and had had the op would you still have gone through with it knowing that it was really a fella? Amanda?
  14. I hope so, he seriously spoils my race day Number one on the priority list for me is Martin Brundle, he MUST be kept at all costs. He's a legend and his very much his own man. I dont mind DCin the team, that will do for me, though I'd have preferred Damon Hill with Martin or maybe Johnny Herbert. My son wanted either Charlie Cox or swirvin' Irvin.
  15. Yesss I'd decided not to bother going as its literally driving up and back with a few hours kip inbetween, but when I realised they would have to go over the Forth Bridge I've allbut changed my mind.
  16. I'm not surprised you need a whole weekend Yes Though hubby and son can share the driving. We'll probably stay overnight somewhere. Picking up a race car actually.....even taking into account the cost of the fuel, race cars are cheaper in Scotland I'm told! emmm I assume you're stopping off in Toon at some stage? Tbh the thought crossed my mind instantly Not sure if that will happen however, probably wont be able to leave Torquay till lunchtime Saturday.
  17. William Orbit Barbers Adagio For Strings Clannad-Theme from Harry's game. Freemasons - Uninvited (Original Alanis Morissette Mix) Spiritualized-Ladies and Gentlemen... QOTSA-I never came

  19. Not sure if I've posted in this thread before or not, but I have to say Birmingham. Im sure there are nice parts, but the bits I've seen are grim. We race at Birmingham wheels sometimes, even had our race tyres slashed there whilst the car was on the trailor being driven along!
  20. Yeah I think I can do online banking between the two, which would be much easier, but that worries me too!!!!! I wonder how secure that is.
  21. ..or any other peeps in Scotland. We are driving from Torquay to a place called Auchtermuchty this weekend. Have to say I'd never heard that name before. Any of you know what its like around that way?
  22. I ONLY use a debit card alex Now I am worried. credit cards insured/covered, your debit card isn't Yeah I know that but havent got a credit card, never wanted one. I have a spare debit account though. I think I will have to use that solely for online stuff, just put the cash in there when I want to order something. Its going to be a pain in the arse changing all my accounts over to a different card though. I must do it today.
