Did you say that he wouldn't have been injured if Robson was still in charge though?
-
Fair enough. I still get the impression that you are constantly defending him from accusations no-one is making (e.g. I haven't seen a single post blaming him for Owen being injured all the time), which is a bit pointless.
-
So what should we have done? Looked into our crystal balls and see that he was going to get injured and therefore not bought him? Of course, this would never have happened if SBR was still in charge 62424 Why do you always come up with the same shit comments? 62446 You're the one who appears to think the Robson could do no wrong and that we'd be better off if he hadn't been sack if I'm not mistaken?? Souness was NOT the right man to replace him, but that doesn't detract from the point that Robson had to go - tbh he should have been relieved of his duties 3 months before he actually was! 62449 I honestly don't know what you're talking about. I'm certainly not the one who thought Robson could do no wrong - I lost a lot of respect for him back when he forced Solano out of the club and though his departure was handled disgracefully, it was time for him to go - he probably should have left in the summer. My gripe with you is that you always jump to Souness' defence even when no-one has said anything against him (as in this case). Where or when did I suggest that Souness was to blame for Owen's injury and that he wouldn't be injured if Robson was still in charge? Nobody has said such a thing. You're so desperate to defend Souness all the time (even when there is nothing to defend him from) that you seem to sign every other post with "But of course Souness is to blame for that ". But then you go and hide behind comments like "I don't think Souness is a good coach, but...". FFS, at least Gemmill openly admits that he bums Souness.

Injured again, what a surprise.
-
According to .cock, Owen should be back on Wednesday, which is good. As I said in another thread though, at the moment I couldn't care less if we get knocked out of that cup, the League is all that counts at the moment.
-
Is Edinburgh definitely out of the question then? Barcelona is a great place but personally, I prefer Edinburgh. Not too sure about Nottingham...
-
Sums up my feelings perfectly. I'm still furious and in a way, True Faith are right when they say that this was the worst defeat of the season. We will not qualify for Europe now.
-
Agree with that. Souness will keep his job until the end of the season - even if we stay where we are in the table - and Shearer will take over in the summer. It's so incredibly predictable and unimaginative, but it's probably the best "long-term plan" the Fat One can come up with.
-
agreed, especially after spending 50m to improve a top 5 SQUAD. ..... waiting for Gemmil etc to say "give Souness time ... " 61595 You sad freak. A thread about Given and straight away you shoe-horn in your stock post. So boring. 61599 right on cue ........ True though isn't it 61601 Nah, I think maybe he's had enough time tbh. I wouldn't be against replacing him at the end of the season if we can get a top coach in. I'd hate to see us go down the Steve Bruce route though - although his job at Birmingham is definitely in the balance, so the obstacle of compensation might be removed soon. What a horrible fucking thought. 61605 Bruce would probably still be Fat Fred's first choice, but surely even he must realise that Bruce would be even more unpopular than Souness? I just hope Shearer isn't interested in the job.
-
I haven't felt this low after a game in a long time. We need to go on an incredibly good run now and I can't see that happening.
-
And I have to say I couldn't care less about Wednesday, the League is all that counts at the moment. The likes of Emre, Luque, Parker and Owen will not be here next season if we're still in 13th place in May.
-
True, but Owen was always going to be injured for large parts of the season. Luque will be a major asset once he's played a few matches, but it's a very sad indictment of this manager that we're playing like relegation candidates even without these two. I'm sick of him. EDIT - Can't spell.
-
What a steaming load of shit, we can't even score against that lot and I'm sick of the excuses. Souness could have Ronaldinho, Lampard and Shevchenko in his team and he would still be a shit manager. This was a must-win game and we haven't created a single meaningful chance. Fuck off, I'm sick of it.

Solano's done fuck all mate. At least Bowyer will give us a bit of bite in midfield and will get forward into the box. 61552 Can't see that happening myself. Fair play to Souness and Bowyer if it does though. 61555 He was forward there if Luque had found him. 61559 Your powers of self-delusion are clearly limitless.

What a shit substitution.
-
If we don't pick up three points here, I will be firmly in the Souness out camp.
-
For fuck's sake.
-
Thank fuck for that. Hopefully Luque will come on sooner rather than later in the second half.
-
Out of interest, have we had a single penalty this season?
-
They're both at fault, Emre seems to take the the free-kicks on the left that Solano should take, and vice versa. I'd like to see Solano take more corners though. Playing better now.

Once you've played at the Bernebau regularly I doubt Goodison Park (where he has played many times already) has the same effect. HTL, read some of the posts on the first page if you think the O-Nut is making it up. 61424 I can't see any posts claiming he wasn't injured at Liverpool though? As HTL says, it just appears that Owen is fit for England games despite being unfit to play for us either the game before or the game after. I don't think anyone really thinks that he's feigning injury for us though. 61463 What he said. It's just so incredibly frustrating and as I said, it feels like Woodgate all over again.

Patrick Kluivert has laid the blame for his failure to impress at Newcastle firmly at the feet of Magpies legend Alan Shearer. The Dutchman spent an unproductive spell on Tyneside last season as he struggled to maintain a regular place in the first XI, and has now described the move as one of the biggest mistakes of his career. Kluivert, now plying his trade for Valencia in Spain, scored just six league goals and believes the club's reliance on Shearer hindered what would have been a more potent partnership between himself and Craig Bellamy. The striker lambasted Magpies boss Graeme Souness for his inability to drop Shearer, as well as claiming that Bellamy was keen to see the veteran out of the starting XI as well. "There is only one man responsible for the fact that I did not become a big hit in Newcastle, his name is Alan Shearer," Kluivert told Voetbal International. "The man is God in the North. "I think Shearer is a fantastic footballer, but Souness should have played Bellamy and me together all the time. "We formed the ideal partnership, Souness should have preferred both of us above Shearer. "I know Bellamy felt the same but that did not make a difference. "Every week it was Shearer and Kluivert or Shearer and Bellamy. "Newcastle United Football Club is all about Alan Shearer, it is as simple as that. "Nobody can beat him, nobody can touch him and nobody can do anything about it." It appeared something of a coup when Newcastle completed the signing of Kluivert in the summer of 2004, but the two parties failed to gel and the former Barcelona, Ajax and Milan star now believes moving to St James' Park was one of the worst decisions of his career. As well as describing the northern side as being constantly in chaos, Kluivert attacked what he perceives to be a dearth of ability outside the Premiership elite. "Newcastle United was not the right choice, there is always chaos at that club," Kluivert continued. "Where in the world do you see two players from the same club fighting with each other in the middle of a match? "I can remember sitting on the bench and it just happened in front of me, Kieron Dyer and Lee Bowyer having a right brawl. "It was always my dream to play in England, when I look back I think it was one of the biggest mistakes in my career. "Not because of England, but because of Newcastle. "What turned me off as well was the kind of football Newcastle play. "In England only Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool play good football. "With all the rest it is nothing more than running around and belting the ball up front." --- A lot of sour grapes in evidence here, but some valid points as well I'm afraid. Still, keep the pie jokes coming

Funniest post of the thread 61291 definitely! although I liked the comment that we should have gone for Crouch instead a classic as well! 61347 What BlueStar said is true though.
