1. I still thought he was shit tbh.. Baba had a class game! 34765 I thought Babayaro was shocking at times, but I'm just so relieved we've won, this is our best result for ages. Fantastic to see both Shearer and Owen scoring and N'Zogbia did fantastically well. We finally got the break today - I thought we were really fortunate and lucky to still be in it by the time we got the free-kick, but once that went in you could really see the players getting a bit more confident. Some of the stuff in the first half and early in the second half was embarrassingly poor, they looked like schoolboys ready to shit themselves whenever they got the ball. Hopefully they can take that new confidence into the Man City game.
2. I don't get to see too many games, but I couldn't have chosen a better match, I'm really looking forward to this one. I hope Nobby will come out onto the pitch before the game so that he can get a good reception. We will be down to the bare bones as far as the midfield is concerned - according to today's Chronicle, Bowyer isn't guaranteed to be fit either. In any case, I'd probably have Clarke in the team ahead of Faye...
3. He would be suspended for the next three games though, wouldn't he? What a shame, I hope he would at least step onto the pitch before the Fulham game so that he could get a nice welcome.
4. I've got it at home back in Switzerland - I think Jenas was Superman.
5. If Solano comes back, I will cry with joy, literally.
6. So does anyone know which number Luque will be given?
7. I don't know too much about him, but his injury record seems to be excellent. We could do with that - though you just know he'd tear a hamstring if he played for us.
8. Never mind the Liverpool Echo, I'd bombard every paper in the country.
9. I think Jenas' transfer to Tottenham (when it goes through) would pay for it.
10. His name would make for some nice songs though
11. Great news! We still need another striker though.
12. "Luque, that was in the orbit of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Athletic of Madrid and Seville..."
13. Keep an eye on FC Thun (pronounced 'Toon'), they're a neat little club from a 40,000 people mountain town who play at Young Boy's new Wankdorf stadium (insert boys/wank joke here) because capacity at their home ground in Thun is only 5,000. Their annual budget is £1.5m and their highest-paid player earns just over £4,000 a month. They did fantastically well in the qualifying rounds where they beat both Dynamo Kiev and Malmo (4-0 on aggregate). They might upset a few more teams in the group stages!
14. United's chairman is working overtime to get in the player his manager has targeted, and though the deal hasn't been completed yet, I understand the unnamed striker will be a Newcastle player by the end of the week.
15. *Bump* Tick tock… The Chronicle should be interesting today. 18027 There's nothing about a new striker in the Chronicle today, at least not on icNewcastle. A couple of stories about Owen, but nothing new really. This falls into the Brett Emerton category.
16. May I be the first to say...bullshit?
17. *Bump* Tick tock… The Chronicle should be interesting today.
18. An eight and a half hour round trip to watch us humiliated i can`t wait.....think i`ll bring some paper aeroplanes to keep myself entertained.... 17851 I'm coming up for the Fulham game and I guess it won't be pretty either…come to think of it, it will probably be even worse. At least Man Utd are a good team and the players should be up for it…oh, hang on...
19. God, I haven't felt this bad about the club in ages, I'm absolutely gutted and I'm shitting myself at the thought of playing ManU on Sunday.
20. Nope, it's still a depserate act and another example of the short term planning we seem to have in the board room. Only difference is, we'd be guaranteed some quality. I'd expect another half decent forward in as well, not just Owen. 17157 What he said.
21. I hate the way the national papers have been reporting on the whole story. I'd love it if Owen joined us just to make the media eat their words and stick in in their faces. They must be gutted that he's not going to end up at their beloved Man Utd, but for some reason they keep mentioning them. And I guess they'd be just as gutted if he ended up at Newcastle instead of Liverpool. Paranoid, moi?
