1. I actually want the Mackems to win. I detest Spurs and the fact that they're doing relatively well is making it worse.
2. I guess that was the only way we were going to score!
3. We need to make more of the free-kicks we get if we are to have any chance of actually scoring.
4. So you'd rather we keep looking at the same incestious group of managers like Bruce, McClaren, O'Leary, Allardyce and Venables instead of at least trying for someone like Hiddink?
5. Agree with that. I do think he's under instructions to come inside a lot more, he said so himself, but even so, he's still not playing well. In the games I've seen, a lot of it was down to there being no movement from the players ahead of him though. We need to get Owen and Dyer on the pitch to use his link-up play and passing better. I've been a bit disappointed with his set-pieces as well.
6. Same here, I don't hate Souness the person and I actually think he comes across as a decent bloke. It's just that it was evident from Day One that he is an absolutely hopeless manager and the wrong man for the job.
7. Rumour is that he's done his hamstring similar to Owen... 63627 Thought Owen was struggling with a groin injury, not hamstring. Or do you mean he's malingering like Owen? 63628 I meant groin.... Fingers crossed its a pile of shit but knowing our luck, it won't be... 63647 He's had trouble with his groin before this season, hasn't he? He was struggling with a groin injury during the last international break. I wouldn't be surprised if it's true. When will it stop?
8. True, and I'm not using them to make excuses for Souness either. They're just so incredibly frustrating though and they help no-one.
9. One of the things that gets me most about the whole situation is the way Shearer seems to rapidly be losing his rightful status as a club legend. A couple of years ago we were saying what a shame it would be if he didn't end his career here with a trophy - today I'm afraid we would all be happy for him to retire now so that people will at least remember him in a positive way, never mind winning a trophy... If only he had stuck to his decision last season
10. Rumour is that he's done his hamstring similar to Owen... 63627 FFS, I hope that's not true. We're cursed...
11. Owen, Emre, Dyer, Taylor, Bramble, Ameobi, Moore, Babayaro, Carr and possibly Parker are all injured (he's doubtful for Saturday according to .com). What a joke.
12. Guus Hiddink should be approached as well. I read an interview with him some time ago where he said that he wanted to manage in England at some stage.
13. I just hope the fans won't get on Luque's back and give him time to settle because he's a good player. In the games I saw him play in last season, he always looked sharp, very quick and skilful. I didn't see the match last night but I can only guess that he isn't even close to match fitness.
14. How exactly are they a better prospect?? 63123 I think they have a more realistic chance of qualifying for Europe.... 63128 So does TNS in Wales but that doesn't make them a better prospect. If Shearer and the fat man have already agreed on the step up next season, then forget Milburn's record and Shearer should have the balls to take the job NOW. If he doesn't then he's not ready next season either. 63136 Comparing TNS with Rangers is hardly realistic now is it? 63141 Yes and no. You made the point about Europe , I'm just pointing out that even TNS has that chance. 63149 They have no chance of appoint Hitzfeld though - Rangers do and I think it's greater than ours... 63153 I think we would definitely have the edge over Rangers when it comes to attracting people like Le Guen, even if Rangers were doing well. We've got a number of fantastic players and there will always be more money to spend for the manager here than at Rangers. That and the fact that we play in the much-hyped Premier League and Rangers don't means we're not in such a bad position. The question is whether that fat excuse of a chairman will even consider appointing someone who doesn't speak perfect Geordie. Not that it means anything because I can't see it happening anyway, but I remember Shepherd saying that he would consider resigning if his appointment of Souness didn't work out.
15. Cos that will save the season won't it? Replace him in the summer, yes - sack him now? No way! 63060 I honestly don't know whether sacking him now would make sense (especially if the alternative is Shearer), but I'm just so pissed off at the moment. 63068 I felt that way after Liverpool won the Champions League. Surely with Le Guen looking at teams like Rangers, now is the time? 63073 As you say, there are a number of decent coaches that are out of work at the moment and looking for a job, Le Guen and Ranieri being two of them. If Shepherd hasn't already decided that Shearer will take over from Souness, now would probably be a good time to talk to a few people. EDIT: Oh and by the way I'm not necessarily saying we should try to appoint Ranieri (though we could do worse IMO), that was just off the top of my head.

17. Faye on for Emre, fantastic. Carrying a knock apparently.
18. I'm only listening to it and it's a total embarrassment.
