  1. There is the solution to the problem thanks to Stevie. "Supporting the Toon....its not just for Christmas" Make anyone from outside Newcastle get that on the back of their shirt. The money the club would make in selling all those letters would mean they contribute as much as the Soopafans. Sorted.
  2. That would be 70 million in the last 14 months and even the season Keane took over they spent around 12 million I think? Fair enough it may make them a premiership side good enough to escape relegation but whilst Malbranque, Chimbonda, Benni etc ate decent players they are all on the wrong side of 20 and alot of the rest of the squad are average Championship players. They may get the financial gain from ensuring their place in the premiership but it doesn't look to me that they are building a team for the long term meaning the spending will have to continue...
  3. You coming along on Saturday Leazes?
  4. A promo copy of Conor Obersts new album...
  5. Our next signing has to be Owens contract, either that or we should be trying to get rid....
  6. Belgian starlet Sebastien Pocognoli has admitted he would love a move to England. The 21-year-old left-sided defender is currently competing in the Olympic Games, where he has impressed for his country and helped them into the last-four. Lyon are understood to be leading the chase for the AZ Alkmaar man, who has four years left on his current contract, but reports from the continent claim Real Betis, Tottenham and Newcastle are also monitoring his progress. Pocognoli, valued at around €8million (£6.3million), admits he would relish the chance of playing in England or Spain. "The decision [about my future] lies with AZ, but a chance to play in England or Spain would be sensational for me," he told the Spanish press. The news of Spurs' possible pursuit of Pocognoli could be of interest to AZ, who are believed to be interested in luring Lee Young-pyo back to Holland. The South Korea international is down the pecking order at White Hart Lane and Juande Ramos is highly unlikely to stand in his way. Lee starred during his time with PSV Eindhoven, who showed an interest earlier in the year, and he is still highly regarded in Holland. AZ also maintain an interest in Blackburn's Andre Ooijer, but Paul Ince is very unlikely to let the Dutchman leave Ewood Park, especially after scored the winner in Saturday's opening game of the season at Everton
  7. Aye and I still think we are trying to get another striker in if Shola and/or Smith goes...
  8. You can just imagine the music from the adverts and Brock whispering in her ear... "This is not just a quickie this is a Marks and Spencer Car Park quickie..."
  9. Can I bump this when his groin goes again? If you like? The first sentence is fact and the second (I believe to be true). Aye his groin may go again but I don't see what wrong with the post tbh that would need bumping? Calm doon man Sprocket. I'm delighted for him and us. I thought he might have been past his best but he looked back to it yesterday. I hope that op has ended what has, tbf, been a persistent problem since the injury against Harewood. I just worry about it happening again. Fook I knew I should have put in the safety smiley I wasn't being arsey just couldn't see what was wrong with what I had posted.

  11. There were quite a few on here and N-O writing him off and saying they were quite happy to see him go. He looked back to his best yesterday
  12. I think for the first time since Robson was in charge we will actually be a "team" rather than a team of individuals. I think many of us, myself included have given alot of squad a bit of a slating in recent years but when you compare player for player (and hopefully we will add another couple of decent players) againt our so called rivals, those chasing a Waffa Cup place, are those teams really that much better than us? Blackburn may have a tough season ahead of them with Ince and the stories of unrest, Sinatras trouble at Man City could affect them, Everton needs players badly as there squad is smaller than ours, Tottenham could be a hit or a miss and I hope there is some legs in the Redknapp to return to West Ham stories as that could put a dent in the progress of Pompey. Though I do think Aston Villa are looking pretty strong. Don't get me wrong I would be delighted with at least 8th this season as long as we are showing signs of progression and perhaps this is knee jerk but I think under Keegan we could be in for a good season and what will make it all the more sweeter is the negative press we continue to get, stories of unrest and both the media and suppporters of other clubs writing off Keegan.
  13. As expected Guti and Colo are getting plenty of praise etc but Guthrie looks a pretty tidy player...
  14. Whats that intro all about on Sky, talking as if its all doom and gloom at the club and once more we are in crisis. Shit stirring fuckers..
  15. NEWCASTLE have failed in a sensational bid for Ruud van Nistelrooy — but are intent on pulling off an equally stunning signing in the next fortnight. Kevin Keegan last night admitted he hopes to bring in FOUR more players before the transfer window closes on August 31. United owner Mike Ashley is hellbent on one of them being a superstar capable of boosting flagging ticket sales at St James’s Park. And sources in Spain last night confirmed that Newcastle approached both Van Nistelrooy and Real Madrid in an attempt to land the Dutch striker following the Euro 2008 finals. But with their recruitment duo of Jeff Vetere and Tony Jimenez being told that there was no chance of a deal, Newcastle became one of five clubs in England and Italy to make a thwarted approach for Van Nistelrooy this summer. However, Ashley and Keegan are still aiming high, with Van Nistelrooy’s Madrid team-mate Javier Saviola on their radar. And Newcastle have also made an approach for yet another Argentinian — Real Mallorca striker Oscar Trejo. West Brom maintain hopes of landing Trejo, 20, as well as his club-mate Borja Valero. But Mallorca’s sporting director Nando Pons said: “Newcastle have contacted directly with us and the answer is the same one we gave to West Bromwich Albion: we will not sell.” Keegan, on the eve of his side’s Premier League opener at Manchester United, said: “I think we will get at least two more signings here, maybe three and, who knows, possibly four.”
  16. Its going to be more of a case of "walk fatboy walk" me thinks...
  17. Must be true then... Regards, Jock Bastard
  18. It perturbs me people rate Taylor so highly. Didn't Beye have a nightmare at CB when he played there? Derby away maybe? Faye is a decent, solid defender, nothing more. Can you say the same about Taylor?
  19. I think lazy journos have got their wires mixed on this one tbh
