1. you are right, he joined smoggies in the summer of 2001. I just looked it up. He was McLarens first buy, according to his profile.
2. dunno.....you might be right, but I could have sworn it was Southgate at least... It was 2001 !
3. As I said to Gemmill ........ about Newcastle. Shame that everyone hadn't called Souness correctly, on the basis of his track record and how he treated Bellamy, as myself and some others did, we may have got rid of him instead you know ....
4. as from tomorrow morning, I won't be posting until Sunday night. No Bellamy posts etc ..... if we lose, or play shit I hope the next time I do post Souness will be sacked, as consolation. Saturday night will be around the town, down the ex drinking dens around pink lane/yates/bodega etc etc . Co-incidentally, one of Bellamys finest games was when we beat Villa 3-0, he and Shearer gave a masterful exhibiton of a performance, of pace, power and movement. November 3rd 2001. Hard to believe it was 4 years ago. Almost like looking at the Keegan years again, before another fuckwit destroyed a side that could have won things, and challenged at the top for a long time. Southgate and Eghiogu [i think it was them] were completely shell shocked. Stunning performance.
5. it will be interesting to see the amouont of double u- turns .......
6. I will conceed that we're in a worse position than we were 2 years ago. But I won't agree that Craig Bellamy is the sole, or even primary reason for this - in fact I'd argue that he is one of the reasons we went into decline... 62588 He was one of if not the most prominent reasons we were in that position to decline from in the first place tbh. 62891 spot on. He was the player who made THE difference. And now he's been kicked out, we are back to where we were before he came, a mid table side relying on one mans goals to stay above the relegation strugglers. 63226 Are you still bubbling about Bellamy? 63231 no. The state of Newcastle United. Why aren't you ?
7. I can think of one player who would have gave everything when he crossed the white line. Clueless despicable cunt. It's a fair bit his influence may have had a good effect on some of the others too. I fuckin hate Souness. I can't wait until the day he is kicked out of this football club.
8. Players playing to get him peddled imo, I'm sure I've seen this before at newcastle 63147 ... a spirit of togertheness you could say ...

10. while viewing any folder in the style you prefer, go.... Tools>Folder Options>View Then press the Apply to all Folders button. voila!! 62626 ta mate
11. Like it or not DK...myself and others are commenting on the fact we are a far worse side without him, when this subject crops we are stating the reason why we are a worse side without him, and will probably continue to do so until we are at least matching the results and league position we had under Bobby Robson, because until that happens...his sale isn't justified in any shape or form whatsoever. 62569 We are also a worse side for allowing Jackie Milburn/Malcolm McDonald/Peter Beardsley/Chris Waddle/Gazza to leave. Are you going to start involving them in every discussion too? completely different circumstances regarding all of those. We were a shit club, Beardsley, Waddle and Gazza all wanted to go. Bellamy didn't, he was forced out, and the difference is that it was the managers decision, for non football reasons, and he was wrong. Week after week, game after game, we are seeing these excuses for top premiership players ie Ameobi, Chopra playing for Newcastle, and all because fuckwit sold Bellamy. See my previous post, rather than I repeat it again. And - we were better off when MacDonald was sold. The manager sold him for football related reasons, and he was proved right. but it developed into a debate about players feigning injury ....... so why are you disagreeing with me ? true, but moving on [and accepting lower standards] is exactly what fuckwit Souness and his rent boys in his dugout want us to do.

But I won't agree that Craig Bellamy is the sole, or even primary reason for this - in fact I'd argue that he is one of the reasons we went into decline... 62588 In my opinion, you and others are completely underestimating the effect that a pacy front player, with fantastic desire in every game he plays, mobility, that makes things happen for others, has on his team mates and the performance of an ageing striker who was his partner, and wants to play for the club to such an extent that he played for 18 months despite having the knee problems he had, and then risking his career by going to Shepherd to try to tell him how unhappy he was ....... Instead concentrating on a pathetic training ground incident, which means absolutely nothing, or nothing more than the sort of thing that you find in every factory, office , or anywhere. An employee who has problems relating to a new boss, and wants to stay at the club so much he is prepared to do what he did. Whether you consider it foolish is not the point, the fact is he did it with good intentions, he was unhappy. We all feel like that about people sometimes. The finger should be levelled at the manager, who quite clearly and plainly targetted him, and saw the situation as a player who he realised he wasn't capable enough to control the very personality which was his strength on the field, so decided he wanted him out, irrespective of his footballing ability, on the field, again, where it matters. And, a lot of players have came and arrived, but Bellamy is the major player here, so unfortunately for Souness, his lackeys and supporters, as the results and performances have dived to such a degree, you have to concede that losing Bellamy is the major reason for this decline. The remainder being Souness' own lack of motivational, managerial, and tactial skills.
13. keeps changing my icon files in their folders - why ? w98 used to leave them they way I preferred them [either icons or list format]
14. why ? It depends what you see. If anything, they would be more motivated than 6 months down the line too.
15. So what should we have done? Looked into our crystal balls and see that he was going to get injured and therefore not bought him? Of course, this would never have happened if SBR was still in charge 62424 If SBR was still in charge, we would still have a player who played in 54 premiership games in 18 months, while still carrying a painful knee injury ..... Has since been accused by people inside the club of feigning injury and being a "cancer" 62455 Bellamy is injury prone too tbh. 62457 maybe he was, but he showed a lot more appetite to play for Newcastle than Owen has so far, and others too. Would you call that a "bad influence", No I don't think so. 62463 Bollocks! Craig Bellamy was me, me, me..... "If this club signs Wayne Rooney then I'm off!!" Michael Owen has a groin strain for fuck's sake - Bellamy declared himself 'injured' in order that he could talk to the chairman - BIG difference! 62466 and Shearer said the same under Gullit ? And Rob Lee would have gone too ? Please explain the difference. Also, please explain if you think its alright for players not to be bothered if they play or not, why we don't buy more Marcelinos ? 62470 When did Shearer stand before a TV camera and state that?? As for Rob Lee, you're speculating. Bellamy actually said that.. 62474 Shearer has stated on many occasions that if Gullit had stayed and he was out of the team, he would have no choice but to leave. Which is exactly the same as Bellamy said. 62482 The BIG difference being that Shearer was talking retrospectively... He'd never have said it at the the time but then that's the professionalism of the man. Don't remember Shearer ever publically calling his manager a liar either, or Owne for that matter 62487 maybe because he wasn't asked !!! Bellamy called Souness a liar, because he was...face it Craig, we are worse off without him, the manager has cost us a fortune to massage his ego, and taken the team backwards to go with it, and you know it.

18. Precisely.... 62464 you can't argue with playing 18 months with a knee far from being 100% healthy Bellamy wanted to play and win for Newcastle more than most players on the books, and showed more desire than everyone on the pitch, and you know it. 62467 I assume Bellamy was playing on the basis of medical advice he was given. A knee injury is completely different to a muscular ailment like Owen has. If you play with a groin strain it will get worse, in the case of an injury like Bellamy's it is possible to play on until surgery is required (in his case) or the injury cures itself. I'm not saying Bellamy wasn't committed to the cause, he was, but you can't really compare the two injuries. 62475 The medical advice he was given was, having played a game and his knee swelled up afterwards, to play one game a week, any more would have serious repercussions to his career. Doesn't sound much like a guy who was trying to get out of playing for the club to me. But again, it depends how you want to look at it. Some of us are looking at the facts, while others are blinded by Souness' lies and spin, which they didn't even think of, while Bobby Robson was here, about a player who has always given the club everything. For turning against a player who you accepted his faults when he was here, ie his mouth [nothing to do with his playing ability] shame on you all. If everyone had seen through Souness charade earlier, we may have got rid of him ages ago.
19. As I said, if you think you want players who don't show desire to play for the club...Marcelino should be your idol, and Bellamy could easily have feigned being injured !! I bet the irony is lost here .... The double standards is mind boggling

22. no I don't, i do remember a Wales game being the first one for a while after had been on the way back, then coming back injured. Cast your mind back to what we said about Mark Hughes complaining about players coming back to Blackburn injured from international duty, if you're not sure about it
