Gullit is right. We are exactly where we were when he was here, going nowhere, and with a tosser of a manager

Hitzfeld & Le Guen off the market?
LeazesMag replied to Dr Kenneth Noisewater's topic in Newcastle Forum
unfortunately and sadly probably true -
equally not true, and you know it. not me, I was over the moon when we bought Bellamy, I also said Boumsong was a headless chicken, and Kluivert would be a waste of space with no desire to succeed, but I was hammered for making instant judgements. If luque is as good as Bellamy, I'll be surprised [but pleased], although he should be better, otherwise it is money down the drain and all this wheeling and dealing and spending has been a waste of time.

Cisse - World class goal, world class celebration

Fancy going round with a name like sissy on your back -
What does that have to do with anything? The recent Robson bashing from some people (NUFC.com included) is pathetic. 58251 totally agree 58266 The man who is sueing, "the club he loves..."? 58269 Terry Mac [scouser but geordie wannabee when it suits him] was supposedly going to take the club to court too, but he's still here because he's one of Souness' "rent boys"
-
I hope you didn't proclaim him as the best defender in europe, or anything when we signed him ..... 58225 I proclaimed him as the one that Shearer wanted to thump when we played Rangers in the Gateshead Cup.. 58226 I didn't see that game. When I did see him, it struck me straight away that he was a headless chicken, pulled out of position and crap in the air. Although I got slated for making an "instant judgement" and told to "give him a chance" Not too much to ask of a centre back is it, to be able to win a few headers in the box ? Worrying that we seem to be paying over the odds for so many players, and Souness took a long look at Boumsong.

Well, lets hope so. No disguising the fact though, that we've spent a hell of a lot of money to satisfy a managers ego. Just because he is a foreigner and cost a lot of money, doesn't mean he will be a success. Look at Boumsong .. 8m quid on what exactly. I hope Luque is better than Bellamy, as he cost more than we got coming in. Anything else has to be bad managerial practice and judgement, doesn't it

Should Dyer be considered a regular starter?
LeazesMag replied to Django Reinhardt's topic in Newcastle Forum
Only concerned about Newcastle Gem, and that is primarily what I am talking about, so I think until he improves on what he had when he came, in terms of results etc, we are all entitled to point out what, in our opinions, are the reasons why or why not ? That IS the point, isn't it ? Anyway...I'll answer your question, and hopefully put the thread "back on track". In the absence of no one up front making runs, I would play Dyer, if he was fully fit. That was his position when he was at Ipswich, and has always been his position rather than a central one anyway. OK ? -

Well, we all have our point of view. As everyone was swooning over Solano, surely you aren't discarding him already ? Same as Boumsong when he came, see another thread. There is a bigger picture as well, which is quite simply that there was a time we wouldn't even have considered a question like this, but that was under a different manager who got better results. I am pleased that you, an accountant, can sniff at 50m quid and a worse performance for the money, so easily. 58184 No I'm not discarding Solano, but I do feel he needs to start looking the part a bit more - neat little passes in the middle of the park are all well and good, but we bought him to deliver quality into the box. He needs to start doing that. I'm not sure what your point about the bigger picture is tbh - are you saying that in the past Dyer was a guaranteed first choice and so the question didn't need to be asked? Or are you making some other point? As for the question of the 50m quid - I'm not sniffing at it, just pointing out that it had fuck all to do with the topic at hand. 58188 a point I have made before.......and I'm making no excuses for mentioning Bellamy here....is it wasn't just balls into the box, he was also picking out Bellamys runs up front, he played to Bellamys strength, and Bellamy was good for him too. Now there is no one up front making runs looking for forward and penetrating balls. I do believe you are losing your rag. My point is, and always has been, for 50m quid we should have a better team AND a better SQUAD than when he came. -
which will then give us...err...14m or so to find a partner for Ameobi

certainly be reminding you when Souness is binned... anyway, it is relevant. Some of us feel that while this manager is here, we are quite entitled to remind people of his crass errors, until he deliver similar results to his predecessor -

Simply amazing that anyone, anywhere can think Dyer is a bigger asset to a football team than Craig Bellamy Nevermind, we can afford to chuck millions of quid down the drain to cover the bad management of oour current manager. -
Agreed. I hope that, in view of this, in future we see a bit less condemnation and accusations from people towards others, simply because they don't agree with them. Regarding our dear manager, even the accountants won't dispute the figures when it becomes obvious what the true cost to the club of backing Souness ego is 8m Boumsong 9m for Luque 80 grand a week for a model professional who is never fit Even 16m for Owen [i suppose even this might be cheap, considering he's made such a pigs arse of his other sales and buys, that Owens goals will save us from a relagation struggle. On the credit side. 4.5m for Bellamy. I'm sure that Fat Fred will wave a magic wand, and pluck 15m out of thin air to find a partner for Owen next summer....... Just like that !
-
hm. I remember before we signed Boumsong, and a lot of people were saying how great he was, just because he's a foreigner and cost a lot of money ......... 8m quid down the plug perhaps ? Never mind, we can afford it ........

So you've gone from a gun crime directly to bombings and racism based entirely on location. The poor woman's died serving us because of a couple of low life's, let's not turn it into another racism rant thread eh? Normally when a person dies people offer condolences, even Eddie Guerrero got more respect. RIP 58012 Indeed, RIP and show respect. However, how do you know it isn't racial ? It might be, it might not be. For suggesting that very thing you are as paranoid as those who you taint with the racist brush yourself. I wonder if the policewoman gave them a chance to lay down their weapons or not first .... as certain people would have them do that ....... One thing is for sure, a fully armed police force is coming and events such as this are what will make it happen. More people than ever take life cheaply now, this attitude has increased in this country, and it has came from somewhere. How long will the killer get, and when will he or she be let out ? 58034 I really feel for her family, RIP. I don't think a fully armed police force is the answer though. I'd be concerned it would fuel rather than solve the problem of gun crime - you need only look at America. I don't get the impression she was given much of a chance to engage with them in anyway, let alone ask them to put the weapons down. I don't think J69 meant any disrepect with what he was saying, I just thought he was saying that there was a real crime problem in the area. 58037 agree Bridget, it was just a general comment about showing respect not aimed at anyone in particular. I think it is a very sad situation that more coppers will be armed in this country, it's not a desirable situation at all, sadly it will come though. You can't allow cops to be left defenceless when they are doing their job/duty. I'm sure if we turned the clock back 20 or 30 years, we would find this sort of occurence was far less frequent than now. It seems to be happening all the time ...
