Surprised you can sit on a chair with your knee jerking like that Honestly what were the doom preachers in here expecting last night? Were a promoted team who were playing man u away from home. Were any of you expecting different? Was anyone expecting something other than a tough season this year? I didn't expect anything else but why should that stop me from calling it as I see it? We may do better against shit teams but I don't see the point of hope - only a club sale would change that.
-
In the cold light of day it's the same shit team of two seasons ago minus the good players with barely good enough or down right shit replacements. As I suspected the much vaunted "team spirit" of last year was actually just a case of how shit the other championship teams were.
-
4th bottom - 37 games to maintain the target.

Ah, kneejerking already. As predictable as this scoreline. Not being funny but I fail to see how someone stating the obvious (which we all knew) is kneejerk tbh. Yeah, all our players are terrible to a man. You're quite right. Might as well write them all off now. Not terrible - just anything but good - I hope the rest of the teams are as shit as I suspect. None of the present team would get within a thousand miles of the 95/96 team - I know that makes me sad for saying it but why should we just accept the Nolans and Perchs of this world?
-
Don't agree with Routledge - too scared to try anything. Enrique has shown what I suspected - he looked good because of the level - he still cannot pass a ball 10 yards to a teammate on any kind of consistent basis.
-
Unsurprisingly the players who fooled a lot of people into thinking they were sort of good aren't. Face facts - we have no good players.

Saw him linked with Fulham - I'm not one of these people who blame him for leaving or think he somehow betrayed us or whatever but I'd still find it funny as fuck if he goes somewhere like that. Arsenal should really have signed him when Lehamn left or even when Seaman did.

Switched over and saw Cole get the red and really hoped it was as much of a mistake as his cheat loving mates were making out - it wasn't - the apologies were fucking sickening. 18 months ago they basically said Barton deserved a red for his tackle on Alonso just because he is Joey Barton - now Cole deserves a let-off because he's a nice, cheeky cockney chap. I fucking hate them all. As a side note I caught a reporter on SSN yesterday - I thing it was that fuckwit Craig - saying how Cole was taking Dalglish's number 10 shirt - proving once again that "Sky era wanker" refers just as much to all their staff as it does to too many fans.

Right/right for me. On a similar subject, can anyone explain the modern trend, button fly jeans apart, for blokes undoing their belts and trousers completely in order to piss? Is it some kind of macho thing that says "my knob is so big I can't get it out through the zip"?

People have to ask themselves what will happen if for the sake of argument their 5 year plan works perfectly and the deficit is wiped out. By then (especially if they win another term) public services will a fraction of their present status - there could also be a pullout of Afghanistan by then. In that scenario they would have scope for absolutely huge tax cuts - probably the abolition of the higher bands at the very least. Of course handing people that much money would lead to a massive housing boom and large inflation which would take us back to square one but they'd still do it imo.
-
As I said, I think the 5m is "good value" for 10000 people to benefit. I'd also say having access at home is a lot easier and likely to be used far more than an "inconvenient" trip to the library - ie they aren't going to go there every day.
-
I'd imagine the idea is to make people feel part of society and not left out because they are poor (as its targetted at people with no internet access) - not that bad an idea imo. I know it all adds up but £5m is peanuts - expecially for something that could affect 10000 people.
-
I'm sticking to the notion that they are "happy" that they have come into power in these circumstances as it gives them the opportunity to go mental with idealogically driven cuts. I think they'll go too far as LM suggests. I wouldn't be suprised if they also extend VAT to cover everything. Phil you really need to do a bit of reserach on how indirect taxes affect the lower paid disproportionately.

Kindle: Amazon's Well-Established Wireless Reading Device
NJS replied to khay's topic in General Chat
I don't play games but the other activities I do in different locations/situations with an appropriate device. I just thought I'd try one specific device for one use. I also tend to read in bed which of course I could use an iPad for but again I wouldn't be doing anything else from your list at that time. I also don't think Apple products are good value for money. -
If it was your arse in the box doesn't that mean you entered it before the exit was clear?

Yeah I ordered the 3g one just for the hell of it - it has a rudimentary web browser as well which would kill two birds with one stone. There's also an email delivery system for subscriptions to papers and magazines which looks useful. I've been meaning to start reading on the train for a while but can't be arsed to carry anything - especially in the summer. -

Did anyone ever get one of these? I've ordered the new one for delivery at the end of the month as I'm currently sorting out my house and apart from boxes of old computer parts, I've realised I have too many books taking up space. I don't like to bin them as I tend to re-read them on an on-going basis. It seems as if theres enough content out there now going by their new Kindle book store. -
Jimbo heading to Texas with a book on conspiracy theories under his arm. Patsy in the making imo. Well, now you mention it me and Mrs Jimbo are headed to Dallas at the weekend to visit Dealy plaza and the school book depository, it's set up exactly as it was on the day of the shooting, so accurately it doesn't even have a Lee Harvey Oswald at the window. You'll have to check the Bill Hicks classic about not allowing you right to the window because it would take two seconds to say "no fucking way".

Could have not bothered with Perch and Simpson and just signed Beye back.

We're going to kill ourselves? How's that work? Sorry, you misunderstood me. I meant the big United. I've only once previously used the fuck off kevin in a half joking manner - now its serious - fuck off you stupid cunt. The kid is a lonely WUM. Surely everyone must see this by now? Yes but I thought the Wummery was accidental as he was/is just a stupid kid - no excuse for this faux pas though.

I watched it when it was shown and found the way people's fates were only revealed as the programme progressed to be particularly effective - ones you though were goners survived and others... well fucking hell.

I;m no expert on the music/circumstances but it worked for Tupac.

Anyone know the source of Wolves' money? If it's based on borrowing/Sky money I could see another Pompey.

Just started reading Christopher Hitchens' autobiography which has been made poignant by his preface where he talks about having to get it done before death (it was written before his diagnosis).
