Even if you think there was diving, the De Jong is s straight red all day, Van Bommel committed so many fouls you can pick two yellows out of them easy and Robben blatantly kicked the balla way on a yellow, sad way to be sent off but its a red. De Jong possibly - but I'd argue the ball was there and he could have had an eye on it. If Webb had booked Iniesta for his shove on Van Bommel any of his other dives would have meant no goal. There was also a fucking shocker by Fabregas on the edge of the box when they were trying to claim a pen for Xavi. The Dutch were a bit rough but no different to what Stoke or Bolton in the past do to the good teams and its the same whinging. The Spanish on the other had squeal like pigs at the slightest touch and I find it fucking disgraceful.

Most of the yellow cards were cheating imo - there were some nasty challenges as well but to talk of red cards is a load of shit - the one that was given was just a typical Spanish diving cunt.

Even without the job losses caused by the actual cuts, I think the stupidest idea is that 2.5 million jobs will be created in the private sector given the impact the cuts will have it on as well. I sometimes think the Tories genuinely believe that everybody no matter what their background are entrepreneurs who want their own business at heart - a complete misreading of human nature.
-
Our back end accounting system which is used by hundreds of banks is only just about to be replaced with the latest version which has a web page front end (Though your point is valid)

I have no doubt that opportunistic idealism plays a very large part in the eagerness for instant cuts from the Tories.

Not the whole race together - I just expect notional communities to care about each other at some level. One of the "successes" of Thatcherism was to engender the attitude among the well-off/southerner's that the pain in the other parts of the country didn't matter to them. I realise there has always been elements of that but I genuinely think that without necessarily day to day contact, there was more of a shared community spirit in this country - certainly during the war as I mentioned. Of course at any time there will be scum around but I'm talking in general terms here. This is probably why I support devolved/regional government - in a way its a recognition that the country is too large a community for a ahared basis and the only realistic way to have people with commonality thive is on a smaller scale.
-
Yes but we only exist as a successful species because of co-operation and forming communities - we've exploded in the last 10-20k years because of it. For wars I meant the way civilian populations came together - the blitz spirit etc.
-
The thing that bugged me about that was that it was "under orders" from the referee committee who didn't like the way we'd scored against Boro the week before. If they want to review games and highlight issues for certain teams and act on them then fair enough but of course the fucking cowards wouldn't dare do the same to Man Utd or Liverpool - ref hounding being a classic.
-
It saddens me how genuine concern about the future - or at least the next few years - is manifesting in such a nasty way with the relish some people have for the public sector "getting their comeuppance". I don't think enough people appreciate Pud's point about a genuine choice of lower salaries in return for other benefits and can't see past the pensions etc. In general its one thing I dislike about the human race - when times get tough we should stand together more (and it happens in wartime for example) but in my lifetime all I've seen is people turn nasty - anti-immigration being another facet of this.

That's our best hope in the medium term - though his Mother's ongoing longevity obviously postpones it. There is a danger they might skip it along to William but thankfully Charles is too pig-headed I think.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if it was. I could well imagine you staying in touch just so you could keep reminding him about it. Loads of text groups on his phone ready for action "Leeds Cunts", "Scouse Cunts" etc etc Actually sounds alright

Nice to see another principle/promise the Liberals sold out.

Surely playing Rugby is the number one gay indicator?
-
Different level surely - those two failed pretty miserably in the top flight but were decent 2nd division players - see a few of ours from last year. (I realise we only finished 8th with Gazza but still)
-
The key for the Germans against Argentina and England were the early goals which set them up for their game plan of counter-attacking - they should have gone SOB at the start last night to replicate the pattern.
-
I suppose its easier to "prove" than the usual "bad men want to kill me".

I consider myself well read and knowledgable about football. I tell you know I'd never heard of "Micky Horsewill" before he took Eric Gates job. Ugly ginger fucker from the 73 team - I just about remember him from then. I know we've had a similar last 35/40 years in terms of trophies but I do think in general we've had more standout players. Then again I'd guess it is hard to judge players from 25 years ago you didn't see week in week out as you see players now. Having said that it still takes staggering ignorance to think Gazza was overrated.
-
It might be made more of an issue because of Blair. On those quotes I favour the Millibands - on the basis that they're right that compassion shouldn't be "owned" by religion. Burnham can fuck off.

He's had ample opportunity to state that there are problems with Bush's legacy laws even if he admitted he coudn't change them - instead he has defended, strengthened and extended them - I don't see how citing the power of the institution of government is any excuse. Which ones did you have specifically in mind? I admit to no detailed knowledge (as ever) but I understood he introduced the one where he can order an assassination of anyone including US citizens based on intelligence with no due legal process.

I was there for a stag do about 7 years ago and was refused entry to a bar for being too pissed - I got dead sarcy about "being too pissed in the alky capital of the world" before a mate dragged me away - on refelction they were right like. On the song you could argue "If you are a Fenian cunt, surrender or you die" is just the same as "if you are a Sunderland fan" but I suppose the historical context of actual battles/wars makes it a bit stronger. I think a blanket ban on all "hate songs" is wrong but shit like singing about the potato famine is a bit out of order imo. -

I went to the McCoist testimonial and the pre-season thing the next year and had a cracking time on both occasions - especially the latter due to all day drinking. Rangers fans were very friendly and surprise, suprise good drinking companions - I remember bumping into a lad on the second day of the tournament who I'd met the day before whose greeting was "Are you ever fucking sober mate?" I have the usual opinion about the religious/political bollocks but you have to admire the edge it gives their support - the best spell of atmosphere I've ever experienced was when they equalised in the testimonial. -
I don't know why people are still holding on to hope that Obama is something different when it's clear he's just another cunt.

My fear is that the Spanish cheating will bring that side out of the Germans.
