That'll be Royston Drenthe the left back/left winger who signed for Real Madrid from Feyenoord in the summer. Good to see the high standard of journalism continuing... :birthday:

Harper is about 5 years too late to do anything with his career now. Apparently about 4 seasons ago he had a few clubs after him, including celtic, but he turned them down as he was happy building up his bank balance and living close to his friends and family.

I think if hed taken the plunge then he would have a few caps under his belt by now.

If he was playing and in good form he'd have chance of a call up. However, seeing as England are missing out this summer any future squads will be picked with an eye on 2010.

It also has to be the most recycled rumour every season.

He plays a few games when Shay is out or rested for cup games, gets dropped when Shay comes back and then it appears in the rumours section he wants to leave.

He'd also had a decent run in the team back then. But yes too late, even if not just made up.
