Ive been thinking of a hi energy sport to take up and i was thinking about Squash. However ive no idea of the rules (i understand its not simply hitting a ball against a wall). Anyone play here and care to give me a simple run down? Is it any good or does it get boring? I only ever seem to see it on TV on programmes where businessmen wind down after work.

I used to play my boss twice a week. It's a canny game and we're looking at starting up again, although I never understood the different coloured balls, something to do with how fast they go when hit I think..

yeah the little spots on the ball means exactly that, I used to love it but havent played for years and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone who doesnt have a decent level of fitness, its a bloody killer. Piece of piss to play but the sweat just pours off you.

Bloody hard to play well though.

I used to play a few times a week, but only play a couple of times a month now. One of my mates played for England at schoolboy level - I started off by playing against him which helped me improve.

I play badminton too, and it's hard to adjust between the two sports.

Running about in a little hot box chasing a ball

bad for your knees and heart

Very 80's IMHO

If I can play it, ANYONE can play it, trust me.

Mind, I was playing a girl like.

Robs right though - it's not a healthy sport. Not only do you run the risk of dropping down dead on the spot, you'll end up crippled with arthritis.

Always preferred badmington myself anyway.

In my youth I played many sports

then I realised what a total waste of time it was.............

If you enjoy it, it's not a waste of time. Plus, it helps keep you fit.

Isn't that the excuse Jimbo uses for his favourite pastime?

I kept running into the fucking walls last time I played. I'll stick to jiu jitsu, it's much safer!
