When he signed you could tell he was in a corner and basically had to sign for us by default. Then he got injured and spent a huge amount of time out of the side. He also seemed to be focussed far more on playing for England at times back then too. Even though we were the ones paying his wages. He is without doubt our best player. I would love him to stay and I think that were he to sign a contract, it would win the fans over finally as it would seem like he had chosen us.
