Um, where were you born Ken?

Adelaide where all the trampy Aussies live. It must be fuckin bad when even Aussies say it's full of ugly bamps.

Adelaide is the arse of the world, unfortunately for the UK the village of the Damned, Liverpool and Holly Head are 3, 4 and 5 miles up it.

it's funny how we can abuse the aussies as much as we like and it's always considered fair game and never xenophobic.

It's a two way thing to be fair. Because to be fair to them the Aussie's can have a bit of banter and have some humour, and generally try to give as good as they get. Not always the case with the different nationalities and cultures.

I cannot believe what I'm watching here. India trying to chuck it away. Hmmmmm, another betting scam??????

Narr, it surely can't be as it's so close right now the odds must be evens at present.

I know fuck all about cricket. Answer me this though, Australia up till a few month ago were regarded as the best side in the world? We absolute bum them in the Ashes, so surely that means we should be regarded as a canny side. The reason I make this point is, why are England 10/1 to win the WC when there's only six sides left in? I don't understand? I'd have thought we should be favourites.

They weren't at all.

Well I heard some commentator say words to that effect, may have been a bit longer. Doesn't answer my question as to why we're rank outsiders though.

ODIs are pretty different to test matches - some players aren't suited one or the other - we didn't do so well against the Aussies on the other games after the test matches and there are teams left in which are seen as better ODI sides. Theres also the fact that we've never done particularly amazingly at the World Cup, including this one - where we've been massively inconsistent at bowling, batting and fielding and just about scraped the group. That theres been a lot of reshuffling in the team due to injuries/returns from injuries/not knowing the best team and that they've been playing cricket for months pretty much constantly too.

The Aussies are held in such high regard because they've won the last 3 world cups without losing a single game and were on a run of over 30 consecutive victories in the WC, still winning when their team wasn't the best.

In the modern game you have specialist teams for both the one day and the test format.

Plus we've lost some big players due to injuries.

On our day we can beat anyone, just we're yet to have a day whereby the batting, bowling and fielding have all been top notch together.

We're one of the best test sides in the world - especially at home. Bit hit and miss at odis though - never won the 50 over world cup, not the best in subcontinent conditions etc etc. 10/1 sounds about right to me.
