Soldier Boy cabinet minister Johnny Mercer sitting openly writing a memo slagging off the PM on a train. Laptop screen duly photographed by passenger and handed to the Times.

Who takes their fucking socks and shoes off on a train btw?

Anyway, another stinking day beckons for Sunak where he'll be expected to sack Mercer, but probably doesn't have the balls to.

If it does get called for July 4th, as rumoured, they're absolutely playing into Count Binface's "Bindependence Day" hands.

Fucking amazing that inflation returning close to target is seen as as good as it gets for this lot.

Wasn't even good news today.

I watch a few economists on youtube and they have all repeatedly said it's services inflation that is important, food and energy are not in control of the BoE and certainly not the government. That barely nudged today. Core inflation is still sticky as fuck. We'll get nominal interest rate cuts at best this summer. But if this is his great achievement, go for it.

Hunt was on bbc breakfast this morning and they posed the question of further NI cuts before the election despite the experts (maybe BoE) saying that would be catastrophic. He was non-committal until the presenter literally screamed "YOU'RE GOING TO DO IT AREN'T YOU?!" at him, and he more or less confirmed it.

So effectively, they are going to try and fuck the economy intentionally prior to the election so that labour are hamstrung trying to pick up the pieces.

It's insane.

So that suggest no GE today. :(

Sunak challenged about the GE at PMQ just there, doesn't sound like its happening the weasel faced gnome cunt.

Anyway, if Hunt does this against IMF/OECD advice etc, wouldn't that lead to an immediate Truss situation?

Yeah, pretty much. All of the 'work' they've done (really the bank of England is the real cause of inflation decreases) will be undone in an instant and labour will begin with their government trying to repair that damage all the while the tories will pull the "what are you doing about the economy?" card.
