Pardew Loving Cathword I am

Right, lets cut to the chase! Newcastle fans should be extremely careful for what they wish for. I’ve been a Newcastle fan for 20 years fondly remembering the Keegan and Bobby Robson era and how our club has deteriorated since then. However, under the circumstances I think Pardew has done a pretty good job with his hands tied behind his back. I mean what do we as Newcastle fans expect under the Mike Ashley regime. What other genuine candidates could have done better than Pardew over the last 4 seasons. He finished 5th (which does seem a long time ago now), from finishing 5th Pardew lead Newcastle to a successful cup run in the Europa League. Consequently this did leave us battling relegation although this does happen to a few teams that qualify for Europe. No investment didn’t help the cause. The season after that we finished a respectable 10th, a great start to the season followed by the sale of our best player in Cabaye which lead to a poor end of the lead. Other players not pulling their weight such as HBA which is worth another post on its own.

This season has been a good one to be fair, we got to the quarter finals of a cup, have a winnable game in the FA cup and currently sitting in the top 10, beat some big teams, got manager of the month. I’ll be honest 2014 has been an awful year to be a Newcastle fan as a whole but who (that Newcastle can attract) could have done a better job? Fair enough we have lost a few derby games, but look at the bigger picture! Newcastle have finished above Sunderland since 2011 and that’s what matters.

The fans have ultimately drove Pardew out in my opinion. Why should a bloke doing a job have to put up with so much crap when his hands are tied. He’s not a Newcastle man or Newcastle fan, he’s a man doing a job under very poor circumstances. Good on Pardew for getting himself a cushy number at palace where the goals are achievable and the expectation isn’t through the roof!

Better the devil you know. This could pan out very badly for newcastle

It hasn't even tried, has it?

Like finding a hedgehog that's been savaged but is still stubbornly clinging to life. I know I should just brick it to put it out of its misery, but all I want to do is give it a saucer of milk and some corned beef.

Poor wee bugger. Bet it took ages to headbutt out that post as well.

Hey Salsaman, I would suggest you become a Palace supporter after reading your drivel about Pardew.

Granted his hands were tied in some areas, but not in his starting team selections, not in his player substitutions, not in his playing people out of position, and certainly not when he stuck the nut on an opposing player. And his hands were not tied during his smarmy press orations.

To be fair he has had to be smarmy in front of the press.` infact he conducts himself very well infront of the press. At the end of the day he cant call the bloke paying his wages to the press. I must admit i would love to see a change of formation from 4-2-3-1. regarding team selection we dont know what goes on off the pitch. we dont see training. He was right about HBA and a few others. For the nut on Myler he should have been sacked, no question about it, but MA knew he wouldnt get anyone better in. Thats why he wasnt sacked. he is a decent manager

As I remember it from HF's stats

No team has lost more than Pardew's Newcastle since we finished 5th.

One team has conceded more

One team has scored less

We've been beaten by more than 3 goals more often under Pardew than any other manager.

We've -45ish goal difference.

My point is this; he's a bad manager and any argument you wish to make against that statement will surely be ill conceived and will no doubt embarrass you.

The difference is i dont think many average managers would have stuck it out and put up with the shit for so long, from fans and from above. (i know theres a money issue with debts somewhere) keegan loves newcastle and he walked after a few months. I just dont think pardew got the credit he deserved. Look at our squad man. its crap. it isnt a team. its a squad full of bargain buys. None of the strikers we have bought can play with cisse, we have just bought cheap players. fair enough perez is amazing like. They dont buy who will fit in the team, they buy cheap players with sell on value no matter where they play or who they are.

since finishing 5th we have sold our best striker in years Demba Ba and not replaced him. Sold our best midfielder Cabaye and not replaced him. like i said 2014 has been a crap year to be a newcastle fan but all im saying is that its not all pardews fault. Tactics - aye need changing. subs - can only bring on what he has
