i always found the why don't you theme tune a bit ironic - a tv show that encourages kids to turn off the telly and go out.

 

I miss that.

 

Bit more of that Angela Ripon, Moira Stewart and their crowd and a bit less "We was" or "For free" thank you very much.

I can vaguely remember an ITV show that was a bunch of stage school dahlings pretending to be homeless and living in a bus under some arches.

Late 1970s early 80s re-runs.

Can I shite remember what it was called.

Anyone?

And the singer from Aswad. Which has just reminded me that they managed to get the line "Yes me a chat 'bout Colin Jackson" into a top 10 single. Impressive.

Speaking of godawful reggae, I once saw Musical Youth at the Rec in town (now Eldon Leisure). Also got the autograph of the dulcet toned Paddy McDee from the Metro Radio roadshow at the same event.

he was stood on the stage ;)

Even as a bairn the whole thing was palpably small time.
