Dizzee Rascal - Maths+English

"What do you know about being a hard man? Your mum buys your bling."

I hope you realise that he's utter shite.

Bowling For Soup - Other Girls

Another quality artist gets the Brock seal of approval

Cheers for the affirmation.

My taste = yours^-1

Actually I have his first two albums, and they really are nowt special. His voice is annoying, his beats are bland, and the artists that also feature in the songs are even worse than he is.

He's an embarrassment to the genre. Which is no mean feat considering the shambles that is the current rap industry.

Say Anything - Every Man Has A Molly

/\ Brilliant.

Why do you keep buying stuff you think is "utter shite"? Hostel and not one but two Dizzee Rascal albums.

Give him a chance once, but don't mug yourself.

The new one is more rap oriented than either of his other two, which were more grime. And the rap industry is thriving, outside of the charts, he's just one of the better ones in there.

I bought it for the singles when they first came out. Them aside, both albums are poor.

I'm more concerned with you labelling him as a "quality artist" when he quite clearly isn't.

Well he's been a pioneer for an entire genre. Wiley might have done it, but has refused to dilute his style so remains a low seller, like all crossover talents Dizzee Rascal has mixed a pop sensibility into his marginalised style (grime). he's one of the most original artists the UK has produced in years, he's sounded fresh on every album he's done, still not running out of ideas and has a distinctive voice. I actually agree with you on some of his album fillers, but, his good stuff is brilliant.

One of the only sad songs they've done.

Got a bit of a Leeds playlist on the go at the minute - currently playing Kubicheck! - Nightjoy.

Kubichek are from newcastle

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kubichek!

I meant a Leeds Festival playlist, containing bands performing at said event.

And it's back on, a wee bit of Klaxons coming through at the moment.

downloaded the new ulrich schnauss album off t'interweb and i'll buy the album when its released, the dowwnload sounds like its been overly compressed and put through the reverb from hell! but the songs are still there, some very good tunes.

still trying too hard to be the elctronica version of the house of love or chapterhouse tbh tho.
