    Lee Clark

He's gone and will be assistant manager at Norwich.
  5. Come on! We can win this now!
  6. Well if they don't do it we have to suffer the cluelessness of acrossthepond forever more. On a serious note that's a pretty narrow minded view. How many American based fans do you think we have that have never even seen a home game? Why do you think most PL teams do pre-season tours of far away places nowadays? Because they won't be playing their league fixtures there. To be fair it's a decent idea on the whole... just not for Newcastle!
  7. I would be far from happy if they took a home game off us to play in front of some clueless yanks.

  11. By ANDREW HAIGH Published: 26 Oct 2007 MARTIN JOL has been sacked as Tottenham boss with Juande Ramos expected to succeed him. Spurs finally lost patience with Jol and agreed severance terms with the Dutchman this evening. Jol was in the dugout for tonight's UEFA Cup match with Getafe but it will be his last match in charge. Clive Allen is expected to be in charge for Spurs' game with Blackburn on Sunday as it will be too soon for Sevilla manager Ramos to take over. Full report and reaction to follow later... From The Sun
  12. are the level 7 lads the toon ultras? how they getting on now? is that their nassive flag i keep seeing getting passed around before kick off? Nope, that flag is organised by the club and starts at the Strawberry corner and ends in the the north east corner. Because I'm on the end of the row in the corner I've gotta help lift it up as the players are coming out... it's a right pain in the arse like.
  13. How hard was that cross bar challenge?! Most of our players would struggle to do that, let alone 3 random blokes!
  14. Didier Drogba claims "nothing can stop me from leaving" Chelsea, according to quotes attibuted to him in France Football. The Ivory Coast star has become unsettled in west London following the departure of manager Jose Mourinho. Drogba has found Mourinho's departure hard to take and with Milan and Real Madrid circling, he admits he wants out of Stamford Bridge. He told France Football: "I want to leave Chelsea. "Nothing can stop me from leaving now. Something is broken with Chelsea. "The damage in the dressing room is big because we know now what happened and who caused Mourinho's departure." Drogba insisted that no matter who Chelsea might sign next summer - he did not want to play for the Blues beyond this season. "I know that Ronaldinho and Kaka are linked to come next season but even that won't change my mind," he continued.
  15. Their approach for Steve Bruce has just been rejected by Birmingham.
  16. that was on the danny baker phone-in thing wasnt it? great story, but this thread should be about footballers really shouldn't it? But footballers stories are invariably shit. Have you ever read a football biography? I'd rather creosote the fence. Gazza's is quite good like.
  17. I love the usual roar that is greeted the second Local Hero finishes.
  18. When was the last game when an England sub wasn't booed?!
  19. A bit stereotypical from Jose, but funny nonetheless!
  20. JOSE BLAMES FOREIGN FANS Jose Mourinho has accused Chelski supporters of being too 'soft' to realise the club's ambition of being a 'great club'. In a remarkable stereotyping of the Stamford Bridge faithful, Mourinho depicted Chelski supporters as 'foreign' and 'cosmopolitan'. According to Mourinho, ousted as the club's managers just two days after 24,973 spectators attended September's Champions League tie against Rosenborg, their background means they are not inclined to sing or shout at matches. "Most of the black community are fans of Arsenal, the Jewish community support Tottenham, in the most disadvantaged area of London they're fans of West Ham, and Fulham are a small club but with a strong nucleus of fans," The Sun quotes Mourinho writing in a new book. "And then comes Chelsea, a cosmopolitan club, with fans famous around the world, like Bryan Adams, Claudia Schiffer and Chelsea, the daughter of former president Clinton. "And there's a common denominator among them all - they're foreigners, which fits in with the general profile of the fan of the club. Whoever is a foreigner and leads a life above the means of the average citizen is a fan of Chelsea because Chelsea have the most expensive tickets, the most expensive meals, their social life around the game is more important than that of other clubs. "It's the soft sort of fan who doesn't get behind the team a lot, who don't organise themselves into fan groups, with the cheering on that is characteristic of the image of English football. "They create a different atmosphere because a lot of our fans also go to the opera, the theatre, other types of shows that don't lend themselves to lots of shouting. That's the Chelsea fan. "That's why Chelsea have some difficulty in asserting themselves as a great club of English football."
  21. I have no idea what she's saying, but it really really doesn't matter!
  22. Dabizas at sunderland was quite mental like, so lucky to be there too! As many have mentioned, Rob Lee at Wembley, I still get goosebumps when I see that goal. And Nobby's winner against Leeds away when we won 4-3 to stay top of the league, the away end went fuckin' crazy. That's probably the best match I've been to tbh.
