  1. Who made the first goal...mmmm...???
  2. Having been daft enough to think the first 3 months offered a big opportunity to accumulate a decent amount of points, I am definitely rueing my optimism. August - poor, September - disaster, and now October looms with the 2 tough away games - Spurs is the other one, plus a must win v Leicester, who haven't proved to be the pushovers everyone first thought. Mind the Palace result brought them right down to earth. November looks pretty reasonable - Liverpool and QPR home, with WBA and WHU away, but all four could be lost just as easily as they could be won. IF IF IF, 10 points havent been accumulated by 1st December { but I expect wins v Leicester and QPR - YES, SERIOUSLY, plus a point at WBA and WHU}, then that spells big trouble, as December is one bastard of a month. Burnley away will be a scrap, Chelsea home - forget it, Arsenal away - forget it, Mackems home - anyone's guess, Man Utd away - could get ripped apart, followed by Everton home. That is one hell of a month. Vital that 4th bottom arent more than 7 points clear by JAN 1 as will give the new boss a chance to get players in in the JAN window and with a decent looking January except Chelsea away, a real chance to get out of the shit.
  3. Never ever been a fan of his, and can't believe he's till here after 3 poor seasons, BUT, he looked lively on Monday night and imho, he HAS to play at SWANSEA in place of Cabella who looks like a rabbit in headlights. Keep same back 5 lads, though Janmatt's defending is worse than Santones {first rule for a fullback, never let your winger get a cross in}, then go OBertan, Tiote, Colback, Sissoko, Cisse and Armstrong. Sit back at Swansea and die, ATTACK and succeed. Obertan can definitely have the beating of Neil Taylor so he will surely be given a chance and then a uun of half a dozen starts to see if he's up to it. Cant do any worse than Cabella.
  4. It is going to take a huge about turn by Ashley if any of the multi millionaires like Pulis, Moyes, Laudrup, Hoddle, Sherwood, Lennon and even Curbishley [how long has been out of football now ? } are to be attracted to SJP. Is he they type of guy to do that is the question ??????? Normally my answer would be NO but, IF he is panicking about losing out on the big money in the PL {the parachute payments are big now but nothing compared to the real deal of having PL status} which he will eventually be, then perhaps Pulis and Moyes do genuinely have a chance ??? That would then mean that he'd have to abandon Carr as I just cannot see Moyes, Pulis etc, having foreigners pushed on them and told to work with them. Views ??? Can he change ????
  5. Does anyone think TIOTE will be much of a miss ?? Brilliant first season, dipped a bit second season and then been in and out form wise imho. Who to replace him ? Bigiramana ? Or outsider - doubt Ashley will give the £10m to Moyes etc to spend ???
  6. got a sneaky feeling for a draw - they aren't owt like the team of last season - Bony's spat his dummy out not getting a move and looks half the player he was - Gomis is getting infront of him now. The pace of Dyer and Routledge is the worry added to Janmatt's diabolical defending.
  7. Taylor will be back in on Saturday - mind having seen Hernandez last night, it could be a torrid afternoon for him.
  8. a weird but amusing analogy thanks !!!! Got to disagree - Pardew presumably tells Carr what positions he is looking to fill. Carr then recommends players to Charnley who then mulls it over with Ashley, who then tells Pardew who he is getting for the position{s} he asked them to fill. I would doubt VERY MUCH if Pardew is allowed to say '' sorry lads I don't want him''. He'll probably just be glad there's a body coming in !!! IF those players then prove to be 2nd rate, is it then Pardew's fault for bad coaching ?? Come on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cabella was so highly rated, no one else was after him despite the Bundesliga, Serie A and the Spanish League being on their doorstep. I honestly can't see him making it but time will tell as it will with Riviere, Perez, Ferrerya, the 2 Forest lads, Janmatt and Colback who I am convinced was only signed to wind the mackems up. He is a very average footballer and the thought of him getting £50k per week really does sicken me. Tbf, Pardew has the air of someone who is expecting the sack - and if the players really want him there, they will pull out a result v a very ordinary Hull. If they lose, it will prove that they dont want him there, and go he will. I wont shed any tears whatsoever, BUT as I've said, to just give him the shit when others are involved is wrong, but I do understand why emotions are running so high. And the news that Ashley is in place until at least MAY 2016, just deepens the depression.
  9. the dog would be more useful based on what I've seen so far - early days, but looks shit to me.
  10. as I've asked before, explain the top 5 finish then - was his coaching not good then or was it all pure luck ??? everyone shouting for Laudrup, Pulis and Bruce - when did they ever get a top 5 finish ? How often did Moyes achieve that ??
  11. So how do you explain the top 5 finish ?? Pardew had had the rug pulled from under him every season he has been here beginning with Carroll and ending {so far} with Mbiwa, with the likes of BA and CABAYE in between. He has bent over backwards with HBA to no avail {look at his past record with managers} and he is getting a ludicrous amount of stick for that. Injuries havent helped either - Colocinni has had long spells out for the last 3 seasons and he is key as the other 2 planks just aren't up to it.Mbiwa was probably shipped out to save 30k on the wage bill and we just dont know if Carr recommended replacements and whether or not they were vetoed or werent available/get-able. Without doubt, AP is a dead man walking, but I have a suspicion that Hull will be put to the sword next week, but this constant and totally unreasonable blaming of Pardew for everything is just hysteria of the worst kind. Ashely is the main culprit - the constraints put on transfers, wages etc do not help one iota, whilst Carr's judgment NOT Pardew's has not been good recently though he has had some real successes given the combined profit made on Cabaye and Debuchy of £20m. Does anyone on here think Pardew has the ultimate veto when Carr and Charnley report to Ashley on a player and then they pull in Pardew to discuss Riviere, Cabella, Ferrereya etc ??? This was always going to be a tough season as there doesnt appear to be a team that will be a whipping boy, and replacing Remy's goals was always going to be very difficult - everyone is looking for a 15 goal a season striker, everyone, but we'll see how difficult that job is at the end of the season when the players with 15 PL goals will probably all be revealed as playing for top 6 sides. Not getting Remy is NOT Pardew's fault - he clearly stated he wanted a Chapions League team - why don't people get that ??? There'll be 10 teams battling to avoid the drop up til the last 2 weeks of the season as most teams outside the top 7 are very much a ''muchness''. One thing for sure is that if the atmosphere is pure poison next week, Hull will be the only beneficiaries, and anyone who claims they want a defeat so that it could hasten Pardew's exit is NOT a fan in my book.
  12. Given that PULIS walked out on Palace due to lack of control over transfers, would he really be able to work with Ashley ? Like Moyes, Laudrup and Hoddle, he is a very wealthy bloke, knows his value, and doesnt need to take a job where the shit is going to be flying at least 50% of the time. Bruce is probably in that category too, only he isnt very good.
  13. at last, someone talking sense http://www.nufc.com/2014-15html/transfers.html look through the list of Carr signings and tell me he is worthy of being known as a superscout
  14. fkin hell, you believe that do you ?? Carr is tasked with finding players that match criteria set by ashley so forget the likes of Remy, the Swansea fella, the guy that went to Dortmund etc - way out of the price bracket. you think Carr has delivered for Pardew eh ? As soon as Cabaye and Debuchy proved themsleves they were off - Cisse has gone backwards since his inital half season, Tiote too has regressed, and look at all the failures - Obertan, Marveaux, Amalfitano, Mbiwa {and dont anyone try and tell me he was PL class - he wasnt even as good as Taylor} and no doubt a few others whom I cant think of. Pardew has been hamstrung by Ashley, Kinnear and Carr - his record with WHU and the Toon in the PL is not bad - way better than Bruce { what a disastrous appointment he'd be as would Laudrup}, and everyone forgets the 5th place. The enforced selling of Ba bollocksed things up - I suppose that was Pardew's fault was it ??? The same with Cabaye ?? Yeah, he acts like a tit sometimes and has made an arse of himself on a few occasions, but the way he is being condemned when he has been so obviously and glaringly constrained by the way Ashley wants things done, is a total embarrassment. And to all those who think I'm related to Pardew, or a Pardew apologist, give yer heeds a shake and look at WHAT LIES BEHIND THE RESULTS ffs
  15. so why did FMA give Carr an 8 year deal then ? Because he thinks he's a superscout in your words - thats why. Carr recommends all players - do you really think Pardew does scouting along with all his other tasks ??
  16. copping the lot ???? I do not like Pardew one iota - his behaviour in games v mackems, Man City, Hull etc has been shameful and discredits the club, but howay, he has these second rate foreigners foisted on him by FMA's blue eyed boy, and cops ALL the flak. Its NOT right. Colback was the only one reasonably well known, and everyone knew how ordinary he is - England call up ? What a joke. Janmatt looked ok in the WC, but he was rank at Soton - his terrible non challenge for the 4th goal was pathetic. He pushes way too far up leaving the left side vulnerable to the counter and having seen his first 4 games, he is nowhere near Debuchy's quality. As for Cabella, Riviere and Perez, I fear the worst in that they will never make the PL grade - yes, ok, its only 4 games gone, but ffs, they should have shown at least something. De Jong's miserable injury record continues, whilst Ferrerya is also on the injury list having shown very little too. Hardly prolific in Ukraine - a league as crap as the SPL, is he really going to offer anything ??? Failure to beat Hull next week will have the alarm bells ringing, but with strikers who cant score, a leaky defence and a midfield packed with plodders, it doesnt look good, but to make Pardew the only culprit, is a joke. Lets not forget MBiwa was another Carr recommendation, and he was patently not good enough, but to let him go to get his wages off the books whilst not signing a replacement is folly of the highest order.
  17. No self respecting boss will accept working under the constraints of Ashley - Bruce, Moyes, Pulis, Hoddle, Laudrup will not work with FMA in a million years UNLESS FMA changes tack with regard to transfers, wages etc.
  18. I think you might be underestimating the likes of Swansea, Southampton { who have made some decent signings following the break up of last season's team} and possibly even Stoke and Hull. YES, not world beaters by any stretch of the imagination, but decent teams nonetheless.
  19. Dont think so myself. Would be astonished if finished above any of the top 7 of last season, whilst Swansea, So'ton, Stoke and even Hull look stronger. The only teams I'd put the house on finishing above are Burnley, Leicester, WBA, Palace and WHU. And even that would be dodgy if one or 2 of the centrbacks gets injured which given recent seasons, is always a possibility.
  20. The loan window - emergency whatever that means, opens next week with reports that BIGIRAMANA, FERGUSON, VUCKIC, CAMPBELL, AMEOBI and STREETE are all on offer with their futures supposedly lying away from NUFC as none considered likely to make the step up to first 11. Nothing surprising there - about time all deadwood young or old was shipped out - still cannot believe Obertan still on books picking up 20 grand a week and is Abeid really going to make the step up on the basis of some decent games in the Greek league which is about as competitive as the Scottish Premier. Maybe if all the unwanteds could be shifted, Ashley might allow a big signing in January ?
  21. his successor that is a REALISTIC possibility ? By the time he goes, the points tally will be meagre and it is not a time to gamble on young up and coming managers, or managers that have continuous failure on their cvs. Only one man for me - PULIS - will certainly keep the club in the PL even though the football may not be too appetising at times. He will get things organised, well drilled and make the team more combative. TIN HAT FIRMLY ON.
