  1. is probably the correct answer. oh dear, we aren't going to start putting our academic qualifications on the table are we ? ps wtf is a ''wum''
  2. nowt to do with richard Dinnis yer daft shite I think accas referring to the fact the players were largely (dis)credited with getting Dinnis the job in the first place? aaah, a shaft of light in the darkness. the prat that posted the ''witty'' reply obviously began supporting long after 1977 and hasn't a clue what happened with Richard Dinnis and the players at that time - Nattrass and Kennedy were at the forefront - a bit like Barton and Nolan. when players start pushing for a temporary guy to take over permanently and the guy gets it, thats when the trouble begins a la Dinnis and more recently Spragia of Sunderland. the "prat" that posted the "witty" reply has supported the club a lot longer and more than you sunshine, he also was one of the few people who realised that Gordon Lee [who left the team Dinnis took into the top 5, a feat not equalled for almost 20 years] actually did a good job for the club and weren't completely blinded by the fact that whatever he did was shite on account of them selling their "hero". Good knowledgeable supporters my arse. Edit: incidentally, Nattrass and Kennedy were only the spokesman for the group, being local lads with the assumation that it would therefore carry more weight. Micky Burns, Geoff Nulty, Alan Gowling were also instrumental in the walkout, which in my view would have fully justififed anyway, such as the club being run at the time by a bunch of knackers, just like now in fact. A situation reversed completely by the reviled Halls and Shepherd. f**k me, you must be a canny age then agree about Gordon Lee anarl.
  3. mighty Cardiff ? 2-1 victory. there's will be late consolation.

  5. A brace by Luis Fabiano in Rosario helped Dunga's men become the first South American team to book a berth in the finals in South Africa next summer. Unmarked Luisao opened the scoring in the 24th minute and Sevilla striker Fabiano widened the gap six minutes later, as he captured a lost ball after Argentina goalkeeper Mariano Andujar failed to save a Maicon shot. Jesus Datolo reduced the deficit 20 minutes into the second half with a left-foot shot from distance, but Fabiano secured the victory by finishing a counter-attack two minutes later. Brazil, who reached the 30-point mark, became the seventh team to secure a World Cup spot, alongside hosts South Africa, Holland, North Korea, South Korea, Australia and Japan. Brazil coach Dunga said: "Argentina used their skills, their talent, but Brazil were focused and paid attention. We knew to play with speed in the right moments." It was only Argentina's second-ever home defeat in World Cup qualifying and they are hanging on to fourth place in the table - the last automatic qualifying spot. Chile remain second in the standings on 27 points, although only goal difference keeps them above Paraguay. Marcelo Bielsa's Chile only gained a 2-2 draw in their home match against Venezuela. Arturo Vidal put Chile ahead early in the 10th minute with a header after a Matias Fernandez corner. Even though Giancarlo Maldonado equalised at the 34th and Jose Manuel Rey gave the Vinotinto the lead nine minutes later, Rodrigo Millar came off the bench to level the match at the Estadio Monumental in Santiago. In Asuncion, a penalty by Salvador Cabanas late in the first half gave Paraguay a 1-0 win over Bolivia. Carlos Bonet was fouled inside the box and Salvador Cabanas shot close to the left post to Bolivia keeper Hugo Suarez in the last minute of the first half. Paraguay stay third while the Bolivians remain ninth on 12 points. Uruguay went down from fifth to seventh and their boss Oscar Tabarez was very unhappy with the result. "Tension and nerves for winning the game made us make big mistakes. They make the players feel tired in the second half and we didn't play the match the way we expected," he said.
  6. NEWCASTLE players are demanding joint caretaker bosses Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood get the job full-time. The club's top stars, including Joey Barton and Kevin Nolan, have made their feelings clear to Toon managing director Derek Llambias. Hughton, along with Calderwood, have guided Newcastle to the top of the Championship. Their calm approach has impressed players after a shambolic summer overshadowed by takeover talk and whether Alan Shearer will be manager.
  7. great call ! was there too but the s/f home to SPURS was awesome if you were there.
  8. Sorry? some kid comes on here shouting that we're going to piss the league has a good knowledge of football? fucking hell son, you're a muppet. I made it clear why you'd not get a good choice from the Prem and its not down to the quality its money, cash, wonga, spondoolecks whatever the fuck you want to call it. You have to fork it out and we wont. who the f**k are you expecting ? Harewood and King not good enough in your eyes like ? We will fork out as we did with Lovenkrands and as we will with Harewood, Cathcart etc. Give us a break from your pessimism ffs. don't patronise me either 'sonny' and when we have pissed the league {as my knowledge of football is obviously a great deal better than yours], perhaps you will be big enough to apologise along with all the other fuc***g doom monger so called 'supporters' on here:angry:
  9. Exactly and thats why the running costs arent the problem, like you say its the fee and the terms of loan repayment that causes the problem but you cant just stick in that extra couple of million. Even your analogy of the house doesnt work becuase if the owner wants more than the house is valued at then theres no way Northern Rock will give you that mortgage. Moats bid is based on backers and loans, banks wont led to money unless the risk is low enough, if the clubs is for sale at more than its worth then they wont take the risk, same with backers, they want a return on investment, more money to pay back out in loan repayments = less profit = lower return. fair enough, but the banks look at incomings and outgoings when deciding on whether to loan money and what they see must fill them with dread
  10. if it is sold out it is amazing given that everyone on here bar me is expecting us to get hammered off the mighty welsh giants of football {that's sarcasm btw}. A club that was last in the top flight in...................................yes, it's that long ago no one remembers. they are crammed with brilliant players like Ledley, Chopra, and err............................ aye, i'm so delusional expecting a win there ffs Cardiff City Squad Profile Name Age P No. Apps G Y R Jay Bothroyd 27 S 9 5(0) 1 1 0 Chris Burke 25 M 11 3(2) 0 0 0 Tony Capaldi 28 D 12 3(0) 0 0 1 Michael Chopra 25 S 8 5(0) 7 1 0 Miguel Comminges 27 D 24 0(1) 0 0 0 Kye Edwards 17 D 48 0(0) 0 0 0 Peter Enckelman 32 G 20 0(0) 0 0 0 Kelvin Etuhu 21 A 17 0(2) 0 0 0 Zak Evans 18 M 51 0(0) 0 0 0 Ibrahim Farah M 59 0(0) 0 0 0 Warren Feeney 28 S 26 0(0) 0 0 0 Anthony Gerrard 23 D 15 5(0) 0 0 0 Gábor Gyepes 28 D 6 0(0) 0 0 0 Mark Hudson 27 D 5 5(0) 0 0 0 Nathaniel Jarvis S 52 0(0) 0 0 0 Mark Kennedy 33 M 3 1(0) 0 0 0 Joe Ledley 22 M 16 5(0) 0 0 0 Josh Magennis 19 S 29 0(4) 0 0 0 David Marshall 24 G 1 5(0) 0 0 0 Adam Matthews 17 D 27 3(1) 0 1 0 Ross McCormack 23 S 44 2(0) 0 0 0 Kevin McNaughton 27 D 2 0(0) 0 0 0 Stephen McPhail 29 M 10 2(0) 0 1 0 Jonathan Meades 17 M 49 0(0) 0 0 0 Aaron Morris 19 D 32 0(0) 0 0 0 Paul Quinn 24 D 14 3(0) 0 0 0 Gavin Rae 31 M 4 3(2) 1 0 0 Jordan Santiago G 45 0(0) 0 0 0 Riccardo Scimeca 34 M 19 0(0) 0 0 0 Solomon Taiwo 24 M 18 0(1) 0 0 0 Peter Whittingham 25 M 7 5(0) 1 0 0 Aaron Wildig 19 D 28 0(0) 0 0 0 A truly terrifying roll call of well known international stars and so called 'fans' are worrying about this shower of sh**e. 12. you say this like it's a simple answer to all ills. We need a keeper so we tell Chelsea to loan us Petr Cech, short of strikers? No bother give Alex a call and he'll stick Rooney on the next train over here. It doesn't work like that, firstly, anyone of any use wouldn't be out on loan, secondly if they're Premiership then we probably couldn't afford to pay them. No Championship club is going to help us out so that leaves borrowing players who can't get ahame for a Div1 club. :getin: What aload of bollocks. Ameobi gets injured, so Hughton picks up the phone and gets Harewood or King in. Is that much of a drop in quality ? Colo gets injured so Catchcart comes in, and so it goes on. To suggest that there are no players worth having on loan from prem clubs that would do a job in CCC is total nonsense and shows up your lack of knowledge of football ps a 1-0 win at the mighty cardiff too
  13. Aye, looks like it. Just wish the fat prick would fuck off. Can't believe moat can't scramble together the little bi exTra that seems to be needed. Surely would have though this wasn't impossible particularly bearing in mind our start and the fact that if we got promotion we would be quite a lean operation. Also want to know off any journos lurking how one minute you have good sources and the next you know fuck all. So you think a liitle bit extra is just a few quid eh ? We are talking millions here man. The banks are quite rightly still nervous after taking a pounding, and the money generated in the CCC is as we all know, nothing compared to the Prem. The overdraft facility is paramount. The money has been spent from the 12,000 who took up 3 year season tickets, the box holders and the 15,000 who renewed normal ones. NUFC exist now on the £11m parachute payment {£212,000 per week}, merchandise sales, catering, and matchday sales of tickets which are running at around £260,000 every two weeks IF and its a big IF, they are getting in £400,000 per week, just look at he outgoings. The wage bill reputed to be still at £45m per year, means that wages alone take £865384.61 per week !! Then there's all the overheads -imagine what the rates bill is like if we only pay a few hunderde quid on our semis in West Denton !! To denegrate Moat's efforts in the way you have done just shows a complete lack of appreciation of current economic facts. Ashley is here for this season at least so we should all get used to it. And NO, I am not LLAMBIAS in disguise. But your talking about the day to day running costs. All the so called information that has leaked out has said that the stumbling block is the fee, not the overdraft or the day to day running costs. In my eyes its like buying a house. If the best house in your area is on the market and you desperately want it and you know this may be your only opportunity to get hold of it, then you pay the price. Im beginning to think there is something very fishy about moat (i know others already do). He has not come out and said anything and this "talks are still ongoing" crap to me is just a smokescreen to allow the silence to remain. Beginning to think he was in on it all along. can't blame anyone for being cynical after what has gone on - total disgrace. the day to day running costs are important though - you wouldn't buy a house just because you loved it etc without calculating whether you could afford to keep up the repayments ?? the fact is that relegation is financially crippling and the so called fire sale has still resulted in a yearly wage bill of £45m which is now added to by another £1.5m if lovenkrands is on the reputed £25k per week. Harewood won't be cheap wages wise either - probably another £20k per week minimum. If as the doomongers on here predict, that we hit the buffers and crowds drop to 30,000 or dare i say it below 30,000 {unlikely with 27000 s/t holders}, then Ashley is going to be sweating even more.
  14. Just the Gallowgate now according to: The seating capacity figures don't stack up. The capacity is 52300, yet the figures add up to 46000.
  15. you should have been in the Leazes in the 70's. Half time would come round and lads would wander round asking if you fancied a scrap ! There was always a dust up during the game between rival groups the 2 main ones were from Longbenton and Denton area, but it would kick off out of the blue. Plod would pile in and there was a rightt free for all - and this was EVERY home game, not just one offs !

  17. what a bunch of jokers - yet another bunch of ''look at me, look at me I'm bidding for Nufc '' - TOTAL TOSSERS
  18. the club in the early to mid 70's, and if so, favorite or most memorable game ?? The semi final 2nd leg v Spurs stands out for me as a 1 goal deficit was overturned infront of 50,000. The atmosphere was even better than when we beat Sunderland 2-0 two seasons ago under Keegan - I shit you not.
  19. You are being delusional silly sod. Until the league has progessed further there can be no idea of what stengths the other teams have. You can't go on last seasons performences as in all probability they have been more active than we have during the transfer window, and we are wafer thin in some areas and injuries could wreak havoc for us as we are experiencing now to some degree. Cardiff will be a real test for us and you just know Chopra will be out to sink us. what a negative mind set you and a few others on here have - you think these are tough times ? You shoulda been supporting throughsome of the shite in the 70's and 80's.
  20. It's got fuck all do to with who we should or shouldn't beat, with our strongest first eleven we should beat most, if not all teams in the Championship. The problem is keeping that first eleven fit and uninjured for the entire season you fucking flid. We don't have the cover so unless we have miraculously indestructible players we'll have to field a weakened team at some point when other teams will be more likely to beat us. Are you some sort of fucking vegetable?! Jesus Christ on a bike. I take it you've heard of the LOAN system - we get a bad injury, we bring in a loan signing - simple. Don't delight in being negative you miserable ge t
  21. how many to reach the play offs i.e. 6th ? Sunderland got 105 points a few years back which was only beaten by Reading with 107 about 2 years ago ? Can we beat that ? Probably not, but could be fairly close. 138 points in total up for grabs with only 2 lost so far with 1/9th of the season gone. I can see no more than 6 teams getting points from us up here - lets say 2 losses and 4 draws = 55 points. Away from home I can see a minimum of 10 wins = 30 points, plus at least 6 draws. 36 + 55 = 91 and the title won. Before I am accused of being delusional, name me teams who will points at SJP and then name who we won't beat away from home.
