  1. I think he was equally at fault alongside Coloccini for the second. Had it been the other end of the pitch Van Der Saar would have jumped on it. Mind you, saying that had it been the other end of the pitch we'd have never have got a low cross behind our back 4. The amount of times that happened was concerning... I disagree that he equally at fault but he didn't make himself big at all and made it easy for Berbatov. Fletcher, surely?
  2. The things your Dad will have you believe to get you to play along Kevin....
  3. I need to start reading up on it. Cheers JawD.

  5. I concur. Stick in Ben Arfa, a defensive midfielder, Saylor (or even Simpson if that is Perch's true ability) at RB and it looks quite promising I think we need a right-back and a striker before the window closes. If we get Ben Afra as well then it'll give us a good grounding for a relatively decent season. We need to not lose sight of the fact that we've only played one game at it was away against the team that defeat the double winners quite comfortably in the charity shield.
  6. Simon Bird is going on about the double standards where Barton is being hammered for his one bad challenge on Nani whilst Scholes is getting away without criticism for the multiple dangerous lunges he made throughout the game. He's not wrong like.
  7. Not a bad Premiership bow. He'll get better with experience. Certainly got Colccini out of the shit in the first half (typical old Colo wasn't it?). Had a mare of a moment late on with that clearance from the box though - should have buried that in the crowd.
  8. Tell you what, if he's not going to shave that thing off until we win he could end up looking like a fucking yeti. Looks like Mandleson at the moment!
  9. As for the comments on Enrique, I agree he looked a shadow of the player we had last season - hope it's just a one off. There was a moment in the second half where Jonas had the ball on the wing and had O'Shea to beat. He had Enrique in close attendance but not only did O'Shea get the ball, he beat the pair of them with ease. The other thing is our fitness. We looked absolutely fucked after about an hour - you'd have thought we'd played half a season already the way some of them were labouring.
  10. Thoughts after last night: 1. Fat Mike HAS to spend some money if we are to have any chance of survival 2. We desperately need a striker 3. James Perch is miles out of his depth 4. Shola is still shit. 5. We desperately need to work on our off ball movements. 6. Plastic Cockney Mancs are even worse when pissed up - stupid cunt was running round the pub singing "Ryan Giggs" to the Robin Hood tune and actually going up to people are shouting it in his ear. Thankfully someone else told him to fuck off.
  11. You ask that question as if I've dared suggest we're in a better situation these days. my point is as stated. It's all relative. When do you think someone will come in and capitalise on the fanbase etc again like they did ? Unless of course, you judge a football club on something other than performance on the pitch and the subsequent raising of profile within the game that comes with it ? In fact, why not answer the question ? I take it you're not going to then? Never mind. I don't think it'll ever happen again because I think we peaked at the same time that football in general in this country was on the way up. We rode the wave which is a credit to those running the club because their timing was spot on. If we tried to do the same thing now with the same people in charge, I don't think we'd get the same result - the whole gameplan is so so different.

  13. No you're not. The meat is actually fine its not fried, the worst thing in McDonalds are actually the chips. Milkshakes. Aye but I meant of the hot food. What sort of huckle has milkshakes? There's not an ounce of cow juice anywhere near them either. Primary ingredient is potato pulp, secondary ingredient is vegetable oil. After that it's simply flavourings and colourings with the whole sorry mess chucked into deep chill. Trade descriptions issue using the name 'milkshake' in my mind. Urban myth, shirley. http://www.snopes.com/horrors/food/mcdshake.asp Snopes reckons as much. There is milk in them. I had to fill up the machine last night. Evidently do these days then. Back in the early 90s when we case studied them they certainly didn't.

  15. Top players in what context ? They bought players good enough to "challenge for the title, breaking the world transfer record and signing players of the quality to play in the Champions League" How many other clubs did this ? Do you not think players such as Shearer, Ferdinand, Ferguson, Speed, Hamman, Solano, Dyer, Bellamy, Woodgate, Jenas, Viana, Cole, Ginola, Albert, Peacock, Batty, Pistone, Domi, Goma, Robert, Milner, Parker etc were all players considered to be of the quality to play for a team playing in europe at the going rate or not ? Or do you think they were all "trophy players" - a laughable phrase trotted out by so called "knowledgeable supporters" if ever there was one. Simple fact is the Halls and Shepherd years were years which had not been seen at this club for a long time, and it may be a long time before they are seen again, and it's a joke that so-called "knowledgeable supporters" found it all so "embarrassing" and even worse now, after 3 years of utter bollocks since the club was sold, they still don't see it. This is the same bunch of "knowledgeable supporters" that booed a team which finished 5th top of the premiership, cheered the same team that came 14th a year later, and would now accept a place 5th bottom of the same league in the season just started. You could not make it up Why don't you tell thompers he is spouting personality driven shite, because that is all it is. If you don't consider all those players listed to be signings made with the view to try and win trophies and considered to be of the quality required to do it, then I'm afraid you too have a lot to learn and tbh I'm surprised at your naivety. I take it you're not going to then? Never mind.

  17. I'd be amazed if they didn't appeal, but I'd be even more amazed if it got rescinded. C'est la vie, la. Prepare to be amazed - they've declined to appeal. He has a 3 match ban.
  18. It's not ridiculous at all Leazes. Just answer his question rather than return with a load of propaganda as to why you feel the Hall/Shepherd years were so wonderful please.
  19. When I was a student I'd often order a large McChicken Sandwich meal with a side of 2 cheeseburgers. Fucking hell my diet was appalling. BTW - anyone remember the MegaMac? Now that was a burger!

  22. I wasn't going to post anything in here because quite frankly I'm shit with a camera and have no decent equipment. I have a Fuji S6500 digital camera (10x optical zoom). Last week I was out with my kids and my daughter has a Fuji point & shoot 10.2 megapixel, 3x optical zoom) pocket camera - the kind of thing you can pick up for less than £50. Was taking some snaps and the autofocus got it completely wrong on this particular shot and focused on the raindrops on the window. I love the shot though with the world outside completely out of focus behind. No post-processing gone on except a resize.
  23. Doesn't post like this in the gaming forum does he Andrew? The kid draws all unecessary attention to himself by bigging himself up. The best one yet is him telling me he'd been on the phone to Peasepud and had got him to agree to ban me!
