  1. I think £ 90 k a week is a deciding factor......... cardiff aren't going to be paying that though are they? i'm sure we could match the percentage of his weekly wage that cardiff are paying him....if the club had any ambition to stay in the top flight. completely nuts that he's available, exactly the type of player we need and we haven't even tried to see if he fancies coming back here. I think Bellamy himself has patently made his desires clear. For one reason or another he wants to be located in close proximity to his family and friends in Cardiff. And how do you know we haven't enquired? I think it was Caulkin who reckoned we had. He did say that, yes.
  2. Taking the black and white specs off for a second and they're on a pretty equal footing to us to be honest. You might find that a bitter pill to swallow but ultimately it's true. Both were 'up there' in the early days of the Premiership, both have been relegated and come back up. Both are relatively struggling buy comparison of their recent past. The comparative differences are that we have a bigger fan base/stadium and they've won something in recent years (League and League Cup). I might be in the minority here but I'd swap our stadium/fan base for the success they've had. in order for blackburn to fill their ground, one in every three people that live in the town have to turn up. they're nowhere near us in terms of the kind of revenue they can generate on match day. they have had the success with trophies that we haven't - and i agree, i'd sooner that than a full house of 50k every week - but if you were looking at the two clubs as an investor, newcastle is a much bigger global brand and we have a lot more potential then them. You'd be daft to buy either from the pov of an investor imo. Exaclty the point I'm trying to make. Dr G's suggestion was that we should be much further ahead of Blackburn in the pecking order. I reckon that currently we're very equal.

  5. I'd just add, charge him for the admin cost of providing additional copies (seeing as it's already been provided in the past). Might I suggest a fee of £25? Typical fucking solicitor's response
  6. Wasn't one of those idiots linked with us called Syed?
  7. I thought he was good for the first ten minutes. Never thought for a second he could keep it up though. He was better than both Nolan and Barton in my view.
  8. Now been confirmed. Season-long loan rather than just 6 months. No doubt it'll become a permanent deal.
  9. It's wykikitoon - everyone know's it's ultimately a problem with a woman
  10. Aye... and how in god's fucking name is that enforceable? When I was in Halls at uni, I lived in a 7 bed house - each with their own lock on the door. We ended up getting one licence and keeping the TV in the communal kitchen.
  11. Make sure you get them to wear their Villa shirts
  12. Trust me, it's not - it's down to whether there's a lock on the door. I found out the hard way.
  13. Aye you're not wrong. Definitely got a hint of Solano about it (i.e. wanting to be near his kids). Be interesting to see if he sticks at it or pisses off again quickly like Nobby did? Using that as a cover more like. Wanting to get pissed with his mates is more like it. Wasn't he barred from going out in Cardiff years ago?
  14. TV Licence is determined by whether or not there's a lock on the door. If it's a bedsit arrangement (i.e. they need a key to access their own private space within the dwelling) then they have to have their own seperate TV licence. However if they're just living in a room in a house and only need a key for the front door then they're covered on the TV licence for the property.

  16. Cardiff holding a press conference later - looks inevitible now. Don't think we had a prayer to be honest - the family ties have obviously played a major factor. Great signing for Cardiff though.
  17. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/europe/8888791.stm Let the entendre's commence Going to be a struggle to bear this one....
  18. I wonder how many reporters wrote Andy Cole off after our 1-0 defeat at home to Spurs 17 years ago?
  19. Guthrie (knee) and Lovenkrands (groin) are apparently available for the Villa game.
  20. Nolan was fucking garbage compared to what he was putting in last season. Smith was better than him and that's saying something...
  21. So this is a 'mate' AND your girlfriend?
  22. I thought they were average at best by their standards. Yep I'm in agreement with this - thought they gave the ball away very cheaply at times going by the standards of their players.
  23. I think he was equally at fault alongside Coloccini for the second. Had it been the other end of the pitch Van Der Saar would have jumped on it. Mind you, saying that had it been the other end of the pitch we'd have never have got a low cross behind our back 4. The amount of times that happened was concerning... I disagree that he equally at fault but he didn't make himself big at all and made it easy for Berbatov. Fletcher, surely? Sorry, I was thinking of the first. Not sure he could've done owt with the 2nd tbf. Really? I thought he was ball watching big time.
  24. Well we were in Manchester yesterday...
