It's nice to see Newcastle United doing so well
ajax_andy replied to ajax_andy's topic in Newcastle Forum
Haha I have my odd moment of being nice... although I've rubbed a few up the wrong way on here too in the past being slightly less complimentary lol! But I always say credit where credit's due and the Toon deserve a lot of credit for the way they have performed so far this season. I mean its 10 games unbeaten this season... it's a great run and nice to see someone other than the expected monopoly doing well and sitting so high in the table. However because you're not owned by an arab and haven't spent billions on players (in fact the opposite really) you probably aren't getting the credit you deserve. Always seems the media will fall over themselves to praise teams who buy success, yet a team who does well without spending money and building instead a great team spirit gets only a brief nod of recognition at most. I guess that's the sky sports culture we live in these days, but when we were flying high I still remember us being last on MOTD most weeks and constantly referred to as "punching above our weight"... to me that's bollocks... if you're 3rd, or 5th or what ever then you deserve to be there as you have achieved the results required. So hats off to the Toon, I just hope you pick up your good form again after we thump you this weekend -
Actually think the shallower DOF works well mate and not sure you'd have benefited from having her fully in focus. I like it the way it is

Great shots mate... very impressive I like the use of negative space in the last one, but would it have worked even better if she was looking in to the negative space? Not sure as can see what you were going for with the pic and think it works well as it is. Would have liked to see this and then one with her looking in to it too as think both would work well. I think my favourite is the 2nd pic

Thanks for your sentiment mate, but we're not Norwich. It was perfectly normal for us to be in the Champions League wasn't like something we thought would never happen again felt like that was it forever, Man City and Tottenham have been in ONCE. We've been accustomed to being up there in the last 15 years, our recent history has been disasterous, but this group of "elite clubs" as you put it, are only elite because of the money being pumped in to them. Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool have a bigger fanbase in this country than Newcastle but none of Chelsea, Tottenham or Man City do and that's a fact. They're not elite clubs, they're rich clubs who are away from us till we get someone who will put us in their money league. Newcastle AND Everton have more right to term themselves as elite clubs compared to the three I mentioned, certainly in terms of history. As for Everton it's never easy, I always look at it and think we should be getting three points off these but you're like little terriers humping away at your leg, annoying but effective. I think Cahill is normally good against us and it's pleasing that he's likely to be missing although, not bothered that Fellaini's missing either way. Yeah I said Elite but Rich might have been a better turn of phrase I agree Tbh I'm happy Cahill is missing, he hasn't scored in nearly a year... we are far more effective when we play a 4-2-3-1 than the 4-4-1-1 when he is in the team these days. In fact i'd much rather Felliani was playing than Cahill, but as both are out I wouldn't be surprised to see Ross Barkley start and it'd be a good test for him if he does. Drenthe will be back after a one match ban and think he'll cause you problems, but your defence has been excellent and our strikeforce awful, so I'm not holding out a lot of hope... It'll be close though as our games usually are. -

Haha tbh it might not work for this shoot as the lass doesn't know me and I'm not sure she'll belive me when I say "No honestly I'm not going to rape you, murder you and mutilate your corpse" whilst trying to lead her in to a pitch black abandoned building Although the outside areas might still work well so might still check it out -
Just been climbing around on the roofs of some flats in Elswick taking pics for a company called Opus Green as they installed Solar Panels. Great to see the council using alternative energy sources... really bad part is that they are using it to power "communal areas" i.e. corridors etc and aren't letting the residents (who are clearly low income and deprived) benefit one bit from it!!! Instead they still have to pay extortionate gas/electricty prices depsite having Solar Panels on their roof! Just doesn't seem right that to me. Not Opus Green's doing I'd like to add, their supplying and installation of altternative energy sources is a very worthwhile thing... this is a council decision and one I think should be reviewed!

Newcastle United vs Everton match thread
ajax_andy replied to Monroe Transfer's topic in Newcastle Forum
As an Everton fan I can say that the article isn't really a fair reflection of Newcastle's achievements this season... ok so you haven't had the hardest of starts but you've still legitimately won enough points to be 3rd... therefore you deserve to be 3rd, confidence will be high, winning is a habit and you're playing at home. It's not a fixture I expect us to win, and I actually think it'll be very close... maybe a 1-1, maybe 2-1 with a late winner for one team but could easily go either way TBH. The article annoys me as its the same crap I read time and time again when we were flying relatively high, that somehow we didn't deserve to be there, and that eventually we'd plummet down the league. I think credit should be given where its due and I think this weekends match is no more of a test for you then playing Stoke away IMO. -
Smallish squad, not many superstars, success built on a good defence and a great team spirit. Reminds me of the days when my own club were achieved two 5th place finishes in a row recently and slightly further back 4th. Always good to see a team who isn't splashing the cash on over paid mercinaries beating off some of the big boys and riding high in the league. Obviously I hope it all comes crashing down at the weekend and we hammer you, but apart from that I'm actually happy that you guys are doing so well in a league that is becoming more and more dominated by the elite clubs.

Antonio Cassano - Reports claiming he's suffered a stroke
ajax_andy replied to Tooj's topic in Newcastle Forum
Anyone think this could be to do with doping? Didn't fat Ronaldo suffer a seizure playing for Inter and there's plenty of speculation of steroid use with hima round that time. Not saying it's definately the case but Italian football always strikes me as being dodgy to say the least -

Is it easy to get in to? That's half my worry is having to either break in or there be security there. -

Haha no idea mate will have to wait till i've taken them before working that out... I was thinking destaurating the images but really no idea at the moment. Finchale Priory is lovely but did a snow shoot there last year and it's pretty far away. Oh yeah it was you who recommended Finchale to me if I remember correctly! -

Well one of the reasons I need somewhere deserted is due to the amount of time it takes a body to disolve in a bath of acid -

I actaully tried to work out how to get in here a couple of months back for a shoot... will defo use it at some point but not too keen on the homeless aspect if I'm taking expensive equipment with me. I'll check it out at some point though as really keen to have a nosey. Is the hole in the fence on the side where this pic is taken from? -

I'm not sure what extent it usually goes to, but I think it's just basically galmour for alternative lasses... i.e. you dont have to be blonde with hair extensions to get your bangers out for glamour pics. I haven't really looked in to it that much tbh tho... If she started cutting herself I'd quickly end the shoot and not go down that route -

Its for her portfolio to be a suicide girl... I never asked her to do it, she just said "up to and possibly including topless"... What's a guy supposed to do? -
