  1. That is why we need a dual track policy with an emphasis on first team players IMO. As far as I know that's exactly what we've got I don't think you can say that until we start to see a few quality first teamers coming in.
  2. Is this the fella who told a few tall tales on N-O then?
  3. Cloverfield - I didn't know a whole lot about this film before watching it so was expecting something low-budget handi-cam Blair Witch style and was pleasantly surprised to see it was a bit more upmarket than that.
  4. They do like their negative spin. How is that a negative spin? More a statement of facts I'd say. A statement of fact would be he's doing his national service - the negative/made up bit is that it in anyway affects his transfer. You reckon it won't affect the transfer? Looks like it has already.
  5. Ronaldo once again pretty much anonymous.
  6. I wonder why, since they do it with everyone else Eh? Who have they stopped? They always seem to be finding excuses to waive the rule from what I can see.

  8. The right choice imo, plus it's another kick in the stones for Fat Sam.
  9. I see Domenech proposed to his girlfriend live on French TV after the game the other night. Classy.
  10. I don't think they really need to cash in tbf and he's on £50k pw apparently and given Ashley's desire to cut wages I can't see us offering him much more.
  11. From £8m to £3m? Whatever it is just fuck off Emre and take Ameobi with you.
  12. Gone Baby Gone - Excellent effort from Ben Affleck and a great perfomance from Ed Harris. But why has Casey Affleck been getting such aclaim for his performance, it looked to me like he spent most of the film switching between the constipated and confused look. Otherwise a very enjoyable outing.
  13. Merely psychosomatic.
  14. Utter gash Fuck off man. They were amazing last time I seen them. Shite when I saw them, granted I wasn't really paying attention to them.
  15. Yes I agree with you but all I'm saying is that I'm not ruling out a sale, though I believe the chances of one are slim.
  16. The club can issue a set of accounts whenever they want, should they be looking a quick sale they could reduced wages and show our outgoings as being heavily reduced. It's impossible to say whether it is indeed cost cutting or preparation for a sale though my hunch is that it is the former.
  17. It's also a way of preparing a company for sale. [/pessimist] My Dad's take on it, as it happens. Not mine, cost-cutting exercises are attempts to change spending culture within a business and take around 2 years to hit the bottom line, depending on the size of the organisation. When a big corporation announces cost cuts, its not too make it a more sellable asset. The overall value of the club fluctuates massively according to external forces (market changes etc) which make cost-cutting irrelevant to the sale value. Accountants have never been, not ever will be, in charge of a business. Dont listen to what they think. If we reduce our outgoings without affecting income too much (as is the likely case) then it makes us a more attractive asset, surely that's obvious? Again this is a worst case scenario, if Ashely was looking to make a profit a football club wouldn't have been the obvious target, more than likely he is trying to run the place like a business though hopefully he realises that there are significant differences between a football club and any other company he has owned.

  19. Well that seems like a clear indication of what level Ashley seems to be aiming at then. Makes you wonder what his aspirations for the club actually are. Aye, Makes you wonder why the fuck he bought the club in the first place. Hopefully it's just because he thought that particular player was over-priced and it isn't a wider indication of what's to come. Well if he did think he was overpriced then you have to wonder was it actually his opinion or is he taking advice from others in/outside the club. When it comes to first team purchases then Keegan should be the one deciding how that budget is spent.
  20. More reasons to be worried if true. I really can't figure Ashely out. He spends all this money on buying us and getting rid of the debt but then doesn't seem to want to spend on the team and move to team on. I can't work out what he wants to get out of it all. As much as I don't want to believe it it does point towards one thing...
