  1. It's you that's got Messiahitis. I think I'm seeing things on here today. Every pro-Redknapp post on here is exactly what was said about Allardyce. Fucking time-warp. I was thinking the same myself, but what else can we do? No point in acting like it's the end of the world, a bit of optimism around the club is exactly what we need after the past 5 months of depression.
  2. Aren't they all to some degree ? Yeah but Allardyce's arrogance blinded him to the obvious mistakes he was making and then refused to make the changes need to rectify these mistakes. I'll rescind my previous comment and hope that he isn't quite as arrogant in the same way as Allardyce. Tbh given the pressure of the Newcastle job and the additional bollocks spouted by the media any manager would need to be either fairly arrogant or desperate to take on the job at SJP.
  3. Will he get the time to implement such changes to enable us to develop players of the calibre? He'll have to balance that with visible improvement on the field.
  4. By welcome do you mean to be pleased with his appointment or support him in the job?
  5. Mugs. You idiot. Brilliant signing. I was talking about the price. Chelsea '' we'l give you £7.5m?'' Bolton = ''lolz narr'' He's worth £15m imo, though for that price we may have let them have Owen.
  6. One of the problems I see is that Harry is just as arrogant as Sam.
  7. While certainly not a disaster on a Sounessesque scale I can't help but feel we could've done better. Still he'll have my full backing and hopefully he can surprise us all, one big plus side is that it seems he was the man Ashley wanted for the job and so will have his full backing. We could have tried for better, not 100% convinced we could have got better though. We only have to look to Spurs to see a club who look do have appointed a better manager. Again if the figure of £5m a year is true (and I take it with a huge mountain of salt) then we really could have been looking at a top european manager imo. London and Newcastle are two completely different propositions for a top European coach. I agree but we're not that bad a prospect and in a lot of cases the money plays a major factor and it appears that we're prepared to spend that sort of money.

  10. A fifth of it allegedly, couldn't see Ashley taking him from one of the lowest paid PL managers to being paid £1.5m more than the likes of Fergie.
  11. Well if it is Harry then I hope these reported figures of him being paid £5m a year are pure fiction.
  12. That's the sentiment I was echoing earlier in the thread. IF it's going to be Redknapp then it looks like they've moved so quickly for him that no-one else has even been considered. To not consider Mourinho, whether it's plausible or not, is in my opinion a failure. We don't really know what has been going on behind to scenes before Allardyce was sacked, we could've been sounding out potential managers then and been turned down by Mourinho, though to go from wanting Mourinho to hiring Redknapp is a bit of a step down.
  13. Recently signed a new and improved contract recently, bit soon to be trying that on I reckon.
  14. If this isn't sorted out today then it'll be interesting to see if he's in the dug out for the game against the mackems tomorrow.
  15. It's no surprise they're insisting he'll stay, they have to do it for the compensation negotiations. We wouldn't be this far in if we didn't know that Redknapp wanted to come here and if he wants to come and we're prepared to offer money for him it's just a matter of how much Pompey are willing to accept.
  16. On the bright side I stand to make a few quid out of this should it happen.
  17. Doubtful, I can't see it going this far without them sounding him out.
  18. So is that the same person as Akabusi on here? Someone on NO claimed it was. Maybe if someone told me what it said I could help you?? The topic title is 'He'd better not be messing with me' and the OP is She also goes on to say that Harry told her husband himself and that he'll be using Ashley's private jet to commute, doesn't go into much more detail.

  20. Hopefully enough to give the new manager a sizeable transfer chest.
  21. We could do with sending a few of our lot up there for a bit of training.
  22. For every good player there has been a Marco Boogers, Paulo Futre and Florin Raducioiu.... Bravo on the spelling, I was gonna attempt that one earlier but hadn't a clue how it was spelt.
  23. Offered him the use of his private jet as an enducement an' all.
