I think it's hard not to be underwhelmed, even if it is only because some of us were being overly optimistic in our hopes.
-
I will be seriously disappointed if it is Redknapp, a sideways step if ever there was one, and given the shit hanging over his head with the bung enquiry I really don't think he's the right man for the job.
-
awooga? No awooga for that news.
-
More importantly, have Mort and Ashley yet consulted the NO delegation on the appointment?
-
Odds shortening dramatically too. SSN in betting scam ring.

Ultimately I don't think anyone apart from the few involved in making the decision has a clue who it's going to be. And wasn't part of Mourinho's severance deal that he couldn't manage another PL team until next season? Going through the 'proper channels' could mean getting him released from this.

When you look at the disregard he has for his shareholders, the way the company's chairman suddenly departed and the fact that after 8 months they still haven't been able to find anyone suitable willing to take the job then you have to ask questions about his style and how he runs his businesses. I'm not saying that he's a bad business man but he certainly appears to have his failings and it'll be interesting to see how those failings affect us. Isnt it that its not so much he is a bad businessman, but his methods and actions do not suit the city? Consequently, the share prices have suffered yet the companies themselves are actually doing ok? Profits have been falling steadily over the past year as well, though it wouldn't surprise me if this was happening throughout the sports retailing industry but I'm not sure whether that's the case or not.

Eh? The price has been on the slide since the IPO and shares are now worth less than a third of their initial value, hence why Ashley has been buying them back. To say the floatation has been a disaster would be closer to the mark.

Yup, given the number of false dawns we've had over the years when sacking managers it's hard to feel elated at the moment. Still, at least it's not Shepherd making the appointment, though saying that we've no idea where Ashley and Mort are setting their sights.

oh ffs. Here we go again, roeder, souness, allardyce, hughes, much of a muchness. I didn't say he was nailed on. what's the odds on Terry Mac keeping his job? If Redknapp gets the job then his bet running capabilities will be needed more than ever. Redknapp? Is that the height of the current optimism. We'll will be debating who's the next manager this time next year. He's the current favourite with a lot of the bookies, though as 2J said it doesn't mean a whole lot.

Mark Hughes' price seems to be shortening.

5.05pm? So chance are that Akabusi knew about Sam's 'sacking' before even he did.
-
Just posted the same (or tried to, at least) on N-O. Hope the chairman's not been signing them... Considering the club made a bid for Wes Brown the other day I'd say Allardyce has had the backing up until he got sacked. That's what I find strange, how they're backing him last week with that and we're making enquiries about Diarra then next thing we know he's out the door.
-
I'm not sure if you've seen this message board recently, but it appears that a lot of the people in this thread who are lamenting the decision are the same ones who thought Sam was a waste of space. Just saying. I was having a go at SSN more than the fans.
-
Tbf Sammy Lee did a good job of dismantling Sam's work at Bolton.
-
FFS, SSN reading out all the texts from fans saying how it's the wrong decision and how we need stability despite being one of the media outlets heaping pressure on him in recent months saying that the majority of fans were baying for his blood.
-
SSN reporting that it's by mutual agreement. No compo then?
-
Here's hoping we've got a decent replacement and a plan lined up. SSN reporting that Shearer is away on a holiday at the minute, and of course reporting that he's the 'fan's favourite'.
-
Here's hoping, but we're still waiting for Giles Barnes.
