  1. Not sure about that, he spent pleny on Samaras and Corradi didn't he ? Think Corradi was free or very cheap. But what about that swedish keeper cost about 2million. Corradi was for and undisclosed fee and Samaras was for £6m

  3. I think you could put your mortgage on that one.
  4. Hang on, we don't know who he will be unveiling tomorrow, we might see Barry Fry walk out from behind the curtain at 1pm.
  5. He'd start 12 threads on the subject if he did.
  6. You honestly believe that is our entire staff don't you Jon? Fat Sam, the only manager out there who knows his stuff. Well, apart from complete novices like Klinsman. Perhaps you can join in the game and list 28 staff positions that Sam will set up that we don't have? And at the same time explain how Terry Mac cured Kieron Dyer and repaired Micheal Owen. Oh, do piss off. Me? Right..... What do you expect when Jon's argument is so persuasive? If you are trying to bore the shit out of everyone on this board, you are doing a sterling job. Can you PM me your give-a-fuck-o-meter, I just need it for a sec.... At the end of the day, if you're happy to be bored by post after post fawning over a mysterious and elusive 28 member backroom staff, be my guest. Some of us aren't so, well, gullible? I swear to God I wonder how Fred has got away with it all these years, then a post like yours pops up. Thats the most tragic waste of bandwidth I've ever seen.

  8. My brother went through a vegie phase for about a year when he was younger, so my Mam would get all the vegie sausages and burgers in for them which claimed to taste just like meat. Did they shite. My mum and dad used to buy all that shit too, and would often say it tastes just like meat. It tastes just like meat to someones that's not eaten meat in 30 years !
  9. We need a strong manager, not a thug, Allardyce is the perfect choice in my opinion.
  10. My parents are Vegan, I recall them having Carob bars when I was a kid. "It tastes just like chocolate James" Like fuck it does !!!
  11. At the time, maybe so. Not at their peak though. Agreed.
  12. Is that why Freddy has been saying that the new manager's aim is to get the club back in the top six for the next few seasons? Changed his tune hasn't he? Would you sack Robson for finishing 5th to get Allardyce to keep you top six? Sam will probably denounce his statement about coming for trophies then I guess. Robson was sacked 3 years ago ffs, I think Souness' and Roeder's reigns have successfully lowered expectations. Not much difference in the squads though is there, our best player standard is still Dyer. Arguably, we even have a better goalscorer. You don't think there's much difference in the squads? Disagree there. Dyer wasn't our best player (or on a par with our best player) then and he isn't now either. I can only think of Robert that is better than anything we have now. Shearer and Bellamy spring to mind. Owen and Martins Shearer and Bellamy >>>> Owen and Martins Kluivert and Bellamy >>>> Shearer and Bellamy
  13. Sam Allardyce is expected to be named Glenn Roeder's successor this week, and Butt indicated that the players would welcome the arrival of the former Bolton boss. But Butt, 32, believes the new chief's first task must be to bring unity to an unsettled dressing room. "We haven't been told anything yet, but we have heard the speculation about Sam, and everyone seems confident it is going to be him," said Butt. "Hopefully, he will be brought into the club and sort a few things out. "The majority of the players in the changing room work hard and are good professionals. "But there are a few who, generally, don't want to play for the club. The sooner that is sorted out, the better. "I am not one to criticise my team-mates, but there are genuinely one or two players who don't want to be here. There are some players who have bad spells, but they give 100% in every game. "But when there are other people who have the ability to do well, yet don't always want to do well, that is wrong." There were more rumours of unrest at Newcastle during the build-up to their 1-1 draw at Watford on Sunday. Winger Charles N'Zogbia was understood to have left the ground after learning he would only be among the substitutes for the final game of the season at Vicarage Road. Forward Obafemi Martins, meanwhile, declared himself unfit to play the day before the game with a knee injury. While Butt stopped short of admitting that Allardyce would be appointed, the former Manchester United player spoke warmly about the 52-year-old, indicating he would be a popular choice with the Magpies squad. Butt continued: "He is definitely a no-nonsense man. He comes across as being an honest manager, and that is all you can ask for as a player. "I know everyone has the highest respect for him as a coach, with all the new things he has brought into the game. "He was at Bolton for eight years and got them high up the table - maybe higher than they should have been. "Only time will tell if he does come, but, if he does, then all well and good. "When a new manager comes in, you have to start from scratch, and every player is in the same boat. "Hopefully, he will come in and sort one or two out."
  14. The word "Fracas" has always made me chuckle for some reason.
  15. Fortunately I'm off work (again) tomorrow so crappy digital photographic confirmation of the appointment will be provided.
  16. It might be a great league to watch, and I'll compare it to watching amateur boxing, usually the best bout of the night is the two nine yearolds that that spend 3 rounds "windmilling" at eachother, little skill, but much more fun to watch.
  17. Rumours that Nokia face similar action following the production of the Nokia Jermain and the Nokia Sol have so far proved to be unfounded.
