I didn't want Souness when he was appointed but was prepared to give him a chance, as I believed he deserved it. Towards the end of last season I grew increasingly disillusioned as to the style of football he was trying to get us to play. I'm still unsure. Just because he buys, two, three, four, five or more players means jack shit to me. What I want to see is the team I love make a fist of taking on the opposition, and doing it with some conviction and cohesion. Until I see NUFC begin to overpower the teams around us, at least, I will continue to doubt Mr Souness, regardless of players he has brought in.

Since I started supporting Newcastle in the mid 70's I can't recall one game where I wanted us to get beat. Even through the really shite years. (maybe if it involved causing problems for the unwashed down the road, but I can't recall one)

You would be hard pressed to find a natuarl goalscorer with lightning pace at 2m who has proved he can make it in the Premiership. The reason he's not wanted at WBA is because Robson doesn't like the small, pacey striker, he likes his target men, big powerful forwards. They paid 2.5m but after a number of games and goals it rises to 3.5. They'd take 2m and he'd crawl to Newcastle on broken glass. He's score more goals than Bellamy did.
