Would feel a bit uncomfortable sending a man down for murder on the basis of eye (ear?) witness testimony, it's so unreliable for many reasons and as much as it's been joked about a bit, I imagine if you had just accidentally shot your girlfriend then the scream/wail upon realising would be pretty high pitched and easily mistaken from a different house to be a woman's. I'd guess the case depends on how solid the evidence about time between shots is more than anything else.

There was a statistic on MOTD2 that they'd already completed more passes this season, with 8 games left, than in any of their previous Premier League campaigns. Honestly can't say I've watched enough full games of theirs to say whether that actually translates into them being better to watch this season though. In terms of his abilities as a manager: Blackburn - Good Man City - Below Par but not appallingly bad apart from some of the signings Fulham- Decent enough QPR- Appalling Stoke - Decent so far Bit of a meh manager, ok but certainly wouldn't be thrilled to see him here.

Must have been about 6 or 7 when you still played in quite small nets and 7-a-side, had a brief phase of going in goal. The opposition punts a long goal kick forward, I come out to collect, the wind was all over the place, ball bounces a few yards ahead of me straight over my head and straight into the net, with me falling over as my little legs back-pedalled like there was no tomorrow. Pretty much ended my GK career, get flashbacks every time I see one similar since. Still embarrassed.

In fact almost every season recently I think you could pick out a team whose season has been drastically improved by a loan signing. Very good way of complimenting your permanent squad with a touch of higher quality.

De Jong's a tricky one because he gets involved and links play really well, finds himself in decent shooting positions sometimes but then... nothing. Hopefully he sorts it out and it's just a confidence thing, but there's been a few cases now where his shooting technique has just looked pretty poor. Hardly saw anything of him before he came so don't know if that's been a feature of his career. As for Cisse, not his fault that 18 months ago he had to play a few games on the right wing so he can't possibly take any responsibility for how bobbins he's been since...hmm... should've taken the rubles when we had the chance.
