2-0 Jonas or Cabaye and Best to score me thinks, although despite the 2-0 scoreline we shall struggle in parts of the game.

Obertan: Earths' gravity is no match for him.
Coggeh replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
Why hasn't marveaux gotten a start yet? start him against forest midweek and see how he gets on, I don't rate Obertan but i certainly don't think he's crap, the potential is there alright me thinks. Edit: Where is the Ba is crap thread? because he's been so damn lazy in every game for all his talk preseason. -
Messi is the best player in the world right now. Jury was out 3 years ago lads...

The way Newcastle is heading is no surprise in reality but a definte product of the way the premiership is being run itself and how money is destroying football. Where owners invest for short term profit and don't give a sh*t about the fans or the culture of the club. Found the best ever article from an old fanzine written in the late 60's : "The more we try and make the middle class frightened of coming to games, the more they are excluding us, fencing us in and restricting our movement on the terrace. So bad is this getting that they have put up barriers on the Kop to stop that famous, glorious surge. What next? A ban on singing? No scarves allowed? No standing room? It’s coming unless we do something about it. What the hell is this we keep hearing about family football, more seated accommodation, and restrict movement on the terraces? Is this the fate of football in the future? The game seems to be turning its back on the real supporters in favour of the season-ticket family and their money. "But will Mum, Dad, Auntie Doris and the children go to a game in the middle of winter at the other end of the country when there’s a rail strike? Will they hell! Gordon Jago and Jimmy Hill will destroy football if allowed any sort of administrative power. Their utopia is a spotless, concrete bowl lined with thousands of little plastic seats, lots of clean toilets, a restaurant, a sports complex, piped muzak and 22 clean-cut, goal-hungry young zombies playing the game in a spirit of friendship and sportsmanship on a plasti-grass pitch. They want matches which end in 7-7 draws watched by packed crowds of middle-class parents who have each brought their 2.4 children, who cheer enthusiastically every goal, applaud every exhibition of skill from the opposition and who go home afterwards in their family saloons, all agreeing that they’ve been thoroughly entertained. Bollocks to their visions. It’s on those cold forbidding terraces that you find the central nervous system of football from which the adrenaline rises and the lifeblood flows" Its time to reclaim the game and end being priced out of going to see the teams we love. Boycott matches methinks.

"Maybe I'll put that in ParPars press release ......."

That would be seriously funny if everything you said wasn't bang on ... Top marks..

Aye. Apparently. Can't wait for Pardew's press conference...

Thought we got Bolek too no ? He was going to be on trial but we managed to bring Elliot to the club so Bolek went to Leyton Orient instead. Ok fair enough. But obviously the point still stands. Krul = good keeper, Forster= good keeper(WHY LET HIM OUT ON LOAN AND THEN SIGN ANOTHER!?!?) Harper =Good enough .. Regardless of anything what we plainly needed more so than a left back IMHO was a STRIKER!

Getting sigged. Any idiots still think he, Enrique or Nolan left this club for more money? Is it sinking in, morons? We sold our best player for 35 million, have never replaced him, and have not spent even one penny of the money we received for him. Not one penny. Ashley has pocketed all but 300k of the Carroll money, advertising, sponsorships, the PL money, and the TV money. Get that through your thick skulls. The owner that the Ashley apologists venerate has fleeced the club for far, far upward of 35m and continues to do it. He and Dekka are laughing right now at our expense. Santon? Great signing. You still don't get it, though. If he comes good, he's getting sold on deadline day for 20 mil, and we'll have more panic bids for players we're never going to land, and then more excuses like 'we had a few irons in the fire but just couldn't get them over the line, we weren't held to ransom, we'll be back to spend in January/August/January/etc.' This club is going absolutely nowhere except down. How many seasons do you think we'll stay up when our owner plainly couldn't give a shiny shit about seeing us succeed? Best rant ever. What a bloody disgrace, they threw 10mil at Ruiz a player they were never interested in before tonight, but wouldn't offer more than 7 million for Maiga. It was a phoney bid. Can't wait for Pardews passed on spew about " held to ransom" blah blah blah. We need a striker you stupid idiot! not 2 extra BLOODY GOALKEEPERS!

Why not just try and buy kiko? United would let him go for cheap i reckon seeing as he's 5th in the pecking order behind shrek, Little pea, Berbs and welbeck

I'm from Ireland and though our league is dreadful, there is an unwritten but respected rule among fans and clubs. That there is always a stand or section that is full of the singing, standing supporters and the rest is for those who would like to just sit and watch the match, why can't there just be a singing section behind one of the goals like so many clubs have ? People will start to get the picture that if your gonna get your ticket for that section don't bother complaining about people standing up. I don't see what the problem is, and why the hell is there never any flags or drums in the EPL ? are they banned? (O_o). Club should organise with the supporters club for a big colorful loud section, would raise the atmosphere and the attendance too.

Davide Santon signs a 5 year deal with Newcastle United
Coggeh replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
I think he would be a decent signing , with great potential. At 5million it would be a serious bargain if he came and then came good over the year. So a good move seeing as the move with Pieters broke down. Only thing i'm worried about is the serious lack of news about a striker coming in but we shall see i suppose, only 48 hours to go. -
Newcastle United v Fulham --- Sunday 1.00pm Kick Off
Coggeh replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
I'm going to stick my neck out and say 1-1. Pen for us. Starting line up : Krul Simpson, S.Taylor, Colo, Raylor. Obertan, Tiote, Cabaye, Jonas Gosling Ba -
Did we have a better playing staff at the start of the season?
Coggeh replied to Happy Face's topic in Newcastle Forum
Need 1 striker and 1 left back, if they were both decent quality guys i.e Pieters/Cissokho and someone else as good as Ba then def yes. I voted yes anyway because i think we'll get at least 1 decent player before the 30th -
Thats depressingly true " Turns out we don't need an extra striker, shola scored against Columbus crew!"
-
is anyone else expecting just because its a yank commentator to hear " and the quarter back tiote double backs wide and hits a ball to the reciever amieobi, 4th down, magpies 1 nothing"
-
Calm down its only a friendly
