I agree with you to an extent but this isn't an interpretation of rules, either the ball crosses the line or it doesn't, theres no grey area. yes its all for the sake of the rich getting richer but it also trickles down through the club, if teams get relegated and the point or 2 extra could have kept them up that is the people at the bottom of the club losing their jobs, the board members aren't getting sacked to make up for the loss.

Don't get cricket/tennis Hawkeye in your head, Hawkeye can and does work in real time and, in the case of football, wouldn't involve stopping play unless the ball did cross the line.
