my first year was brilliant, spent every penny I had on alcohol, pretty much did fuck all work second semester as I was already in the process of moving course and had already been told that it didnt matter at all whether or not I passed my courses first year great times!

How much do you get as a student loan? do you get to decide or is it a set amount. I'm sort of worried about not being able to find a job in belfast/newcastle and relying on my student loan for the year. Also.. for people who've been to uni, what's better, having your own house or the halls? halls first year no doubt about it, get stuck in with some strangers makes you come out of your shell and gets you involved in a hell of a lot of parties and stuff as for student loan, they'll cover all of your tuition fees and the loan to you depends on your parents finances, if theyre over the threshold moneywise then that base amount it about 3500 of the top of my head, then you need to think student bank account, go for the best overdraft deal that gives you the most money and the most time, post uni, to pay it back without interest dont get drawn in by "free ipod" etc because the accounts and terms make more than the amount an ipod costs back off you in no time
-
kev, make sure you get your loan app in proper early not sure if its the same system over your place but they are generally just a pile of horrific retards whove never been able to handle the job they have getting people their money on time

I don't even know if my school does it? I've never heard of anyone doing it before? Can you do cope in upper 6th? I don't think General studies is available in sixth forms, it's more common with colleges who regard it as compulsory at AS. I did it at 6th form, both as and a2 in second year utter doss but they stuck the fucking exam the morning when my chem ones were afternoon that day, waste of 2 hours It is a total doss but a lot of decent unis accept it for some reason (eg Newcastle and Leeds) I applied for...(wow this is straining the memory) warwick, durham, manchester, sheffield, heriott watt and...some other one I dont rememeber, none of them took it

same here, never even looked on NO

Unlucky Kevin I've been disappointed on results days before so won't take the piss Resit one or two key exams if you can to bump them, I resat one of my core math units like I said earlier 100% ed it thanks to a year of doing harder stuff making me better and that bumped my grade to a b overall
-
Doesn't work tbh
-
is that a no then?

Gosh Kevin !..I hope that your Reserves and Under 18's don't wind up in ACCRINGON next Wednesday, or 3,500 Stanley Fans will be disappointed !!.. ps.. is it true that Alan Shearer intends to put in an appearance ?? My spelling of Accrington shows how much I, or anyone else for that matter care about them. Meeeeeeow !!..... That's what I get for being pedantic Kevin !!..... As a visitor to your forum I should behave better !..and now manc-mag will say that I'm doing a 'Fonz' again !!...but I just don't care !!. Incidentally, isn't it a bit presumptious of you to link 'anyone else' to your personal dismissal of Accrington and it's Football Club ! ...a generalisation which would be difficult to prove ! its presumptuous considering hes covering for his own inability to type properly by being a cocky twat I for one am looking forward to this game loads, ties like this are precisely what cup football is about, the match is going to be a fantastic atmosphere and as has been said before Accy fans are a brilliant bunch

Grass The pitches are all rock hard though atm how come? weather cant have been baking them that much up there surely?

You sure about that? I've always been told that it's 3gb as standard. I am technically a 32bit can support 4gb but it needs to use some address space for other things like your graphics etc so really youre looking at up to 3.5gb is you put 4gb worth of sticks in
-
ground yourself means get one of these http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antistatic_wrist_strap
-
yes it is, the colour of the PCB is irrelevant as said, 32bit OS can only recognise up to 4gb of ram (not 3) so get 2 2gb sticks to max it out fish said ground yourself which is a good idea (though not quite how he suggested it) but its not essential, I never have and havent had any big problems so far
-
you need to pair your ram equally so you either need to go to 2gb(with 2 1gbs) or 4gb(with 2 2gbs) once again, googling will yield what you need
-
everything you need for it should be here http://tinyurl.com/3xsrlxn

I'm not sure what you're hoping to do though. It doesn't work, right? So even if you just took apart and put it back together, you'd have no idea if it you put it back in the right way, because it still wouldn't work. I'm all for having a go at things, but I'd try something simpler, that already works learn a bit, Ive done it loads find out what stuff looks like, how it fits in with everything else besides if you dont care about voiding the warranty, which he doesnt since its broke then replaced a bluray drive should be really easy as long as you buy the right one

... Kevin, seriously, it sounds like you were into Games Design like kids get into Pokemon for a year or so and it doesn't seem like you're that into computing. Exactly, it may sound like it but you have no idea of what interests i have. I'm actually going to take apart my ps3 tonight so i can get in at the blu ray drive and try and clean it out. I know what im doing like. Then i'm gonna do the same with my computer or laptop to see which parts go where etc. learn as i go. no offence kevin, but you thought a hard drive was a blu ray drive just yesterday, please dont attempt this It's the first time I seen a hard drive, it looks like a disc would go in it. I was watching loads of videos on youtube. My PS3's broke anyway, I'm getting a new one when i get paid, nothing to lose. fair enough, cant say Id do anything different, Ive dismantled all manner of crap over the years just for the sake of it good luck

milan and genoa have a bit of a relationship going with regards to loaning/buying, probably the sort of thing they wouldnt be allowed to do in england arent milan banned from permanent signings this summer after some dodgy goings on?

It was one of my more interesting A-Levels. Kudos to you then for enjoying it. I've never ever had an interest in things like politics and history etc. I loved history until I got one of my most hated teachers for it at GCSE its a shame how relationships with teachers colours so many peoples view of subjects, 2 years in that witches class completely robbed me of all of my enthusiasm for it academically
-
Yeah. Bug? oh brock, why are you doing this to yourself? well known bug if youre unpatched, fixed if you get the newest official patch
-
3 is perfectly valid is probably why my college had a 4 as level policy for people who got certain GCSEs, I was one of them so I picked my three courses which I finished as full A levels and then just stuck some bollocks tech subject on there to fill it out then dropped that after my first year kinda like Kev is planning with politics which I think hes getting a harsh rap for

What did you study at uni? went into electrical and electronic engineering at manchester, hated it doing comp games design now, its fantastic Is that just basically games programming and manufacturing of games? mixture of programming and actual design work so artwork, story, mechanics etc its an industry targeted course, my main tutor has worked for loads of companies over his carreer as a programmer and designer right up to taking on this teaching role last year so he knows his shit
