  1. That's a shite argument tbhWhere does this debate leave Michael Owen? Is he a crack whore? Fuck off man. Are you taking the piss? The point still stands re: his notorious drinking sessions anyway. Taking the piss about the 'or so I heard' comment, yes. That sort of stuff belongs in the playground or with fishwives. Of course players need to look after themselves. Players get injured, however, it's taken more then cutting back on the booze to sort out shin splints, a training pole in the eye and that hamstring injury. I am pretty sure the specialists he has been to might have pinpointed that if it was the major cause of them? No? The comment about Michael Owen simply points out that players will get injuries irrespective of their 'refuelling' habits. In KDs case its unlikely that it helped but its far fetched to say that a series of specialists, who couldnt sort it out, will all look at each other now and say 'its cos he's a pissheeded, diseased little waster who according to some bloke down the pub......' Don't forget last year he had everything from Hepatitus to AIDs according to those 'in the know' So to put it in context, no it doesnt help. Was it the major factor. Unlikely.

  3. Bit ott that like. Not entirely factual either.
  4. Never been a fan of Cudicini. Decent but not in Givens league. Van der Sar was suspect and seems he hasnt got over it. He always had a stinker when we played Fulham up here.
  5. Utter rubbish. There's plenty of examples of players covered in riches that behave in a decent and controlled way. Dyer is just not one of them. If he were he wouldn't be getting booed or eggs thrown at his house for wanting to be with his kids (if that really is the reason), but he's not and he long term behaviour HAS brought it on himself and he has no one else to blame for the situation but himself. I do rather enjoy your moronic pseudo-psychobabble that Dyer's behaviour is fine because I'm apparently "jealous" though (am I "jealous" of Bellamy too? And why exactly am I not "jealous" of Shearer or Given or the other myriad players that act properly?). That's clearly one for the textbooks. I thought Isegrim was talking about the morons who would condone the nonsense and spout shite? Too many are like that and comment on his 'bling' and wage at every opportunity. It does smack of jealousy imho. Or just people jumping on the binwagon cos they have no mind of their own. Of course its only a few who would do that. Not all. Or at least thats what you would hope. I'm sure youre not like that. The track record of Dyer is significantly better than Bellamy by the way off the field. That has been commented on earlier on the board so I wont repeat it. Both played an important part in our relative success for 3 years. Both got injured a lot. Neither are role models. I can't see what he has done recently that should bring about the nonsense - other than younguns acting like arseholes. He was the best player on the pitch when he came on against Juve. Like I say, if he goes then I hope we bring in someone with pace, cos without him we have very very little of that. From a selfish NUFC supporting reason I hope he stays, it gives the squad something it doesnt have without him. Not fussed about the lad himself.
  6. To be fair the Craig Gordon Video itself suggests he is decent. Everyone makes fuck ups: Poor example, that was a freak. The Craig Gordon one (and there are others), emphasises a poor handling ability under pressure. The worst goal Given conceded for the toon was Bentley's in that 2-2 draw, and it was no where near as bad as that one at Celtic Park. A freak? Not poor goalkeeping? Shays superb but one example is a shite way to judge a keeper. Thats the point. The compilation of Gordon looks decent. No doubt he is over priced but can't help feeling youre not be entirely fair to the lad for some reason.....
  7. Given or Harper Enrique (I'd chuck him in for Bolton personally) Rozehnal Taylor or Cacapa Geremi Butt Smith Dyer N'Zogbia Viduka Martins Think the above may be fit for Bolton.

  9. I jsut find the pack mentality a bit daft. You see kids on NO hammer him despite having never been to SJP. Others rarely do and say stupid things like 'without his pace....' I just can't get that worked up about it. The nonsense about his wages just smacks of petty minded jealousy tbh. I'll happily say goodbye to him when we don't have the one-paced midfield we had on Sunday. Until then he is the only one with any real acceleration to stretch defences and let the others make use of that space. At present we have James Milner slowing everything to a standstill then booting the ball into the stands. A central midfield of good players who are very similar. We need something different. Sadly for us, he is the only one with those characteristics and the loons will ensure we don't get the best from him. Sam knows he needs replacing. That will only happen if he leaves, obviously. If he doesnt then its best to make use of him.
  10. Not the remarks themselves but just the way he is such a contrary cunt. He spends more time brown nosing than telling people what he really thinks. Shit journalism tbh Loads of others but its his inability to be honest that pisses me off. He's more concerned with being on some fuckers xmas card list than reporting.
  11. I'd thought that. Think he's decent though and has a bit of pace and isn't work shy. Hope he fails though.
  12. Dull game. The 'ultras' were an embarrassment. Sounded like the back of a school bus. Milner was poor. Geremi was very good. Rozehnal looks decent though.
  13. Muse - mostly shite Pink Floyd - mostly shite Sufjan Stevens - mostly shite Queens of the Stone Age - mostly shite Led Zeppelin - complete and utter shite The Go! Team - very good Gorillaz - alright Rage Against the Machine - shite The Arcade Fire - shite Snoop Dogg - canny Daft Punk - nonsense Mylo - poo Arctic Monkeys - good Nirvana - very good Interpol - very good. The Chemical Brothers - very good Alice in Chains - shite Public Enemy - ok The Fall- very good Anyway, apart from the Roses and Mondays and the fact that you can wear Adidas with pride if you saw them in the old days, music is too subjective question. Mostly. Except any fucker with a Les Paul and a waist coat singing 'more than a feeling' etc
  14. The mark of an Alan Oliver story. Change that to this. Only met him once. At Highfield Road. Said I was off to pick up a ticket. He said they were sold out last week. Went in got a ticket and he looked pissed off. Think it's time he retired and let his hair go the John Gibson way tbh
  15. Nope, you just decided it was shite night out. Scunthorpe's biggest problem is the fact that it is surrounded by Hull, Grimsby and Doncaster; 3 of the shittest places in this country. The East Yorkshite Triangle? Donny is piss poor for a night out. Grimsby is ugly beyong Boro proportions and Hull is just weird. In the middle of that you have Scunny. Brigg is quite nice though. Talking of Grimsby and Hull, I believe the piece of skin between a vagina and a woman's anus (the female gooch) is known the Humber Bridge because it links 'the fishy bit to the shitty bit'. I might have to tell a lass I work with that. She's very proud of her Grimsby roots. Fuck knows why. Not a hound either.
  16. Well today I saw the nurse about my very sore right plum. Went to see one in Yorkshire about it after the lad here had probs with his. They sent me an appointment for a scan on the 20th of April. I got the letter on the 21st. The first time I asked them for a scan they just didnt send a letter. Decided to wait til I was back home. Past two weeks have been hurting! Too much info Anyway, I feel better now its being sorted out to some degree. Dentist tomorrow though House buying is going through, new job stuff is coming through. Less skint than I was 4 weeks ago by a long way. All in all a good day really. Oh, and havent had a fag since 10am. Got stuff for that too and reckon I will stick with it this time......and went for a run for the first time in 2 months too.

  18. Ah, it's Robson's fault that Dyer showed him no respect is it? Of course. Even when Dyer has been fit, he has massively underachieved imo. Couple this with his off-the-pitch activites and general attitude, then I'm not surprised he isn't winning any popularity competitions. Agree with you there. How was it Robson's fault? Correct me if I'm wrong: Bobby Robson was the manager and it was therefore his job to manage these players. He had a soft spot for Dyer because of the Ipswich connection, and he was allowed to get away with murder to the point where their relationship got damaged by it. Yeah, Dyer took the piss, but he should never have been allowed to. Do you think that would have happened at Manchester United under Alex Ferguson? A player photographed giving the v's behind the manager's back? Not a fucking chance. Dyer's no angel, but Robson let that one get out of control and should take his share of the responsibility. Outside of that, Dyer pissed in the street once and suffered terribly with injuries. Oh and he got an improved contract which was apparently all his fault too. That's about it really. Spot on. Ditto for Bellamy who may well still be here if he hadnt been allowed to become the egocentric bellend he became.

Couple this with his off-the-pitch activites and general attitude, then I'm not surprised he isn't winning any popularity competitions. One players underachievement is a level others still cant get to though. James Milner will try til his dying breath and get nowhere near Dyers underachieving level. Its all relative. If Milner plays the way Dyer did from 2001-2004 with the same impact I will be very happy. Cant see him getting there though, or anywhere near it. If we can get better with similar athletic ability and a better attitude then fair enough, let Dyer have it when he is gone. Gemmill is right to some extent about Robson. He let that lot get away with far too much. Bellamy was peddled as soon as he raised his golf club at Liverpool. They act like a big club. We kept the fucker here after he smacked the assistant with a chair and let him get away with further misdemeanours. Similar for Dyer. The level of brainless nonsense relating to (any) players wages is just a bit sad. Dyer didnt award himself that did he? So many want to use it as a stick to beat him with though. It's those people I worry about rather than the player himself. Milner last year played better than Dyer has even done for this club in my opinion. Didn't he also play something like 60 games? remarkable really considering the circumstances in which he started last season, trying to be flogged to Villa.
