It is pretty funny how his other very "liberal" political stuff (and indeed support for early gun control) doesn't get mentioned much if at all now. He rather doomed himself in his media portrayal though by moving against Politically Correct dogma in the 80's. I think there's more than a bit of truth in his "Political correctness is tyranny with manners", something that earnt him the undying hatred of the PCer than thou crowd - nothing provokes hatred more than the truth, no matter the source. (as can probably be seen in this very thread in fact ) His support of Ragan and Bush (both) and his opposition to abortion are what I don't like about him. I've no qualms with anyones political incorrectness if they aren't talking shite.

i dont agree with that. Most managers bar Souness and possibly Big Fat Sam had the support behind them from the start. Doubts only crept in later on. Would/did they after 10 games without a win?

He was the one player I thought had a look of panic about him a few times. Hoofed the ball straight back to reading on occassion. Understandable though given his lack of experience, and forgiveable when we're playing this well collectively, in a losing team he'd probably have got a load of shit for it though.

Didn't like Enrique standing in the huff when he got mugged while the counter attack was in full flow. Neither did Keegan like, screaming at him to get back. Excellent show otherwise like. Course he's not ready for it yet, Allardyce had the right idea in not giving him games so he could learn from the bench.

Nice to see Beye and Owen fill in for him lingering after the final whistle. At least the came to the stand that makes all the noise rather than the romantic gesture of going to the Gallowgate.

I think it's all down to whether or not the players want to play for their manager. Keegan is the only manager who's enjoyed the complete backing of the support in 20 odd years. Under other regimes the players used to know if they fucked up the manager would get the blame. Now they have a manager they have to respect, even when they haven't won one in ten. When even a manager of Robsons stature doesn't have the backing of those in the stands it's a worry who can come in after Keegan though.
